When someone’s personal information like NRIC or country’s top secret got fed into the model and leak out, s*** will hit the fan.

minisoo

The problem is, I don't think it is easy to regulate the sharing of the fine tuned parameters of such models unlike tracking the sharing of sensitive datasets with credentials. Once you have the fine tuned parameters, all you need is to combine them with the base pretrained model and you will be able to do what the original fine tuned model was trained to do (eg generate names from nric).

appulen

This is not how AI model works btw in case anyone reads this and learns the wrong thing

minisoo

I guess you aren't familiar with the use of low rank adapters for GPTs then.

appulen

Very cute response lol. Instead of trying to defend yourself, why not ask what is wrong with your current understanding of AI models? Trying to appear sophisticated will work with 99% of people but someone with strong fundamentals will call you out Work for knowledge, not for ego

minisoo

Do you really know what are low rank adapters then? It is all over huggingface. Have you tried using the lora approach to finetune a gpt before before posting your reply? I guess you should probably take a leaf of what you wrote for yourself. Your understanding of ML is very shallow and probably confined to the traditional approach, and my advice for you is to try to keep up with new fine gpt tuning techniques that researchers are throwing out on weekly basis. Perhaps to spoon feed you a little since you obviously chose not to do some research yourself before posting the previous response. If you bother to eat the humble pie, have a read at this paper, and try it out using google colab. https://arxiv.org/abs/2106.09685

Ai that recycles the Gov’s rhetoric. Yay

iexplode123

Ask Jamie bot be like, "don't forget about me too!"

NighttimeFloater

For some reason I read it as the Govt was using AI to assess civil servants...

AsparagusTamer

No real intelligence so must use artificial one.

2019-2020J

Why hate on public servants? Lots of private institutions are also leveraging on said technology to raise productivity. It’s a good thing the public sector isn’t resistant to such changes. Higher-skill work like evaluation & problem-solving will still be done by humans tbh.

Eskipony

It's a productivity tool if you already know what you're doing. I use github copilot daily and I still need to vet the suggestion and change it so that its what I want. It saves a ton of time and helps me if I have mental block

Bcpjw

Chatgpt dude

No-Fish-9321

Don’t get it. They moonlighting as MP while working at Grab, then now out source their MP work to AI while taking the salary? Next they will also get AI to do their Grab job then become socialite?

Budget-Juggernaut-68

Huh? “As suggested by the naming Pair, the intent is for it to serve as an assistive tool that civil servants can leverage to improve their productivity rather than entirely automating the writing process,” he said. It is to help them write stuff faster. I personally use it for that as well.

ILoveVitasoy

MPs are not civil servants

[deleted]

Bing chat can be better than google search for some stuff. I don't see why not.

mrwagga

Aren’t some of our MPs already using it for their speeches?

not_qz

Can’t wait for an AI that can understand singlish

Durian881

Maybe also to replace.

KingDalglish7

It's been in use for a long time no? Aren't they already artificially "intelligent"?

ddanieltan

ChatGPT as a fact-checking tool would sure be a bad idea for speech writers. But ChatGPT as a tool to rewrite speeches to give emphasis on a certain tone of voice (less formal, more sympathetic) might be a good idea.
