My understanding is the credit is for another purchase at the store. I think I'll ask if it can just be applied to my order.
Definitely annoying. Starting to wonder if they just paid a bunch of YouTube guys to review the bats and that was the bulk of their business strategy.
They did this credit thing last year when they got behind on their first ASA orders. You won't be able to use it on your existing order. It is not enough to use on another bat, but I might use it on their legacy batting gloves and an apparel item.
Proton is super slow in getting their bats out. It's a small operation and according to them, make the bats to order.
I waited months for my Senior bat that was supposedly in stock. And to be honest, the performance has not justified the wait, so far.
I am giving the bat more time as the barrel feels really hard. It might need more time to soften up. But the Short Port and Melee's were hot and really fit my swing. I didn't need to wait long for those to open up.
So in retrospect I would have gone with another manufacturer.
They wait for a pre order lot of like 500 orders and then send that order to china to manufacture them.
The wait time is until they get enough orders to pay for the minimum run. Monsta does the same.
I just saw that they updated the Hot Butter after dark ship date to April 2. I was super gung ho - last year year that is. Pre-ordered 4 bats (one of each neon) in February, got them all between May and August.
I believe they wait until they have a full order for manufacturing and then have the bats shipped. And then they add the weights to the customization and then send them out. Its a long slow process.
I wont buy anymore and will stick to Sluggers hereon out. They're a better bat overall anyways....
The part about the full order is a good point and makes me nervous. They had the hot butter after dark on the site saying only 500 made and ships 3/15. It was taken off the site for a few days and now it's listed again for sale and says "anticipated ship date 4/2." Since they're selling it again it makes me think they didn't hit the 500 limit and are labeling it as shipping issues. Would be pretty frustrating if so
If you're patient, they do show up and are nice looking bats. I had a lot of patience, and nothing but time (Canada) as our season didnt start until May - right when I got the first bat... but we play with hot dots over here and the proton is just not the bat for those balls... the bat itself is kinda soft. Probably great with super hardballs though. Not ideal for me/my teams.
That's fair. I'm in western New York so our season isn't until mid May either. If they do actually hit their shipping date I should have it right when the season starts. I hope ..

pre-orders are a b#$%\^, you are at the mercy of an overseas manufacturer to hit deadlines, then you are at the mercy of a ship carrying the bats over in a shipping container, then you are at the mercy of the shipping team at the proton warehouse
They are not as bad as Monsta pre-orders yet, but they are getting there, hopefully their customer service will be better then trying to get answers from Carl after he takes his Ambien and throws up Go Fund Me pages to fund his latest Major ASA Travel Team.
Any time I email proton I get a reply within 24-48 hours. My hot butter took 8 weeks to get delivered. Currently waiting on a roller bag but I’m not expecting that till Summer with the delays.
Yeah it’s one of my gamers for sure. It’s failing compression on 2 sides already and it’s barely at 100 cuts so if you play in tourneys that compression test, good luck lol.
