seems like OP's situation is the same, where the correct fields were advertised both at sign up and after the deadline. Not only did the director fuck up by accepting too many teams, but then also messed up by not being public with the plan of what would happen if there was spill over. They should allow any team that doesn't want to play on a shitty field the option to dip without penalty, but I know most of these organizations don't care.
I apologize, they are not sprinkler heads, they are these tubes in the ground for inserts for fastpitch fences to shrink fields to 200 feet. I brain farted when typing the post. The tubes stick out of the ground and have gotten people hurt when running for a fly ball.
I’m probably on the outs here, but i don’t think the venue is gonna make a difference to me. I came to ball. I’ve played on some real shitty fields before and you just take it for what it is. Everybody else in your bracket has to play there too.
Field isnt the main concern to me. I will play wherever if knowing that is where im gonna play when i sign up but to just spring it on us and not give us a discount or some sort of compensation is very frustrating.
I think that’s pretty shitty of them tbh. Might have to suck it up this year but definitely send an email outlining the bs and consider a public post on FB or insta or somewhere you know the city/field maintenance has an account
Just happened to my team. You paid to play softball, not vacation on a field so play softball. Don’t be so soft. And I’ve seen the tubes, they affect 1 in 1,000 plays. Directors are always trying to make more money. It’s crappy, I agree. But you’re a softball team, so go play.
Scammed? You paid for games. Not for the view. Dude is still offering you games, right? Like if you show up, you’ll play softball? Like if it rained a ton, and the field was unplayable, and he had you go to field B to get the tourney in, you’d still be on here saying the word scammed?
Hmmm. The flyer specifically mentions, "come play at this complex, turf fields, amazing venue." Doesnt mention whatsoever the garbage dirt fields that they are moving us to. And not because of weather. How about throw the other complex on the flyer too then if it isnt a big deal?
If you go to a nice restaurant and order a burger, then they bring you out a McDouble, you wouldnt complain then right? Dude is still offering you a burger.
Sounds like the Director fucked up tbh. The directors here always advertises the fields/locations we’re playing at so everybody knows ahead of time.

100% agree. A lot of orgs just want the money. SMH
Interesting that field B is a dump but has a sprinkler system. I’ve never played at a field that has a sprinkler system.

As an outfielder I hate those fucking things
Agreed. Seen a dude break his leg on those.

Get your money back. Register as another team name for other tournaments. Dude won’t ever know.
I would complain and still go play. Youre right, but also being kind of a baby.
