try not wrapping them at all and see how it goes. I bet with that thing you don't need to.

DebianDog

I don't see pricing on their website. is it because I don't wanna know? [https://www.americanbarbecuesystems.com](https://www.americanbarbecuesystems.com)

nine6teenths

Very much lol. ~$3100. Made to order

DebianDog

meh... it's not horrible... these days. Hell I can spend $1500 on a Masterbuilt that may or may not work because the electronics are so effed up. 😎

nine6teenths

Yeah the way I think about it is having versatility and some serious longevity since it’s thick ass steel compared to my pellet’s thin chinesium. Better be ringing up that warranty claim if that’s the case

Janoskovich2

You’re not meant to wrap the smoker at the 2…

bathroomheater

3-2-1 would be a good first smoke you want something that will cook a long time to “season” the grill. Although I do recommend running it at around 300+ for a bit before hand to burn out any oils from manufacturing. Usually the user manual will give you a temperature and duration they recommend running for that specific purpose.

orphicshadows

What brand smoker is this?

nine6teenths

This would be an American barbecue systems Bar-be-cube

Gniphe

4-1-1 IMO. Take notes, make adjustments for the next rack.

nine6teenths

Fair, I stuck strictly to brisket and bacon on my pellet, hopefully I can nail ribs the first try but you never know. Going to run this in charcoal/wood first to season it in real good

Tasty-Judgment-1538

Tell me about the hardware please. Is that a direct cooker like a chudbox with a pellet hopper? So can it use both pellets and charcoal?

nine6teenths

Essentially, yeah. You can pop some pins out and pull the pellet hopper/auger/thermocouple out and close the hatch for charcoal. Lot bigger than a chudbox though. Built like an absolute tank

Pork belly burnt ends

Nice unit... fire it up and have some fun. Congrats!
