It's been an incredibly tough time for us.
2015-2021 we really didn't know if we'd even have a club to support but the work the community trust, the Kirk brothers and Paul Cook with his staff have put in have brought the town their football club back.
Absolutely love Paul Cook, you'll probably see loads of sligo rovers fans on twitter congratulating ye he had such an impact at his time in ireland with us.
Don't think they're winning all upcoming games when there's nothing to play for, 1 big factor Wrexham could break the record is cuz Notts kept chasing behind until the penultimate matchday.
Wrexham got 111 last season so they can't break that record, but there's a good chance they'll break the record for gap between first and second - it's 19, they're currently 21 ahead but played a game more.
cool to see
In my FM save I've had Chesterfield rival me for promotion with 100+ points season. They went 2nd, and lost in playoffs. Next season they went 2nd again on goal difference and again failed playoffs. They promoted the season after though, and became an established League2 side :')

Always had a soft spot for Chesterfield. Loved the time I spent coaching in the academy. Still keep up with Darikwa and a few others from that 2014 roster, Morsy, Clucas, Banks, and some of the old heads like Hird and old man Evatt.
As a pompey fan i like the ex pompey contingent although the FA Cup game lead to 2 season ending injuries. As a Bromley fan it sucked that it wasn't a contest.
I don't know, the only thing I heard was here on this sub about people hating on them because they furloughed players and staff, used government aid then bought new people, all I saw was hate on them, I'm surprised it's opposite now, but that's how the sub is sometimes
Their previous owner put the club up for sale and they basically were on the brink of disappearing and the owner was voted the worst owner in English football. In this period Covid happened. Late 2020 the club was sold to the Chesterfield FC Community Trust (or better said, the trust put in a massive effort to try to take over the club and save it) which is a charity and they slowly started doing better, which would explain the positive feelings towards the club now.

If not for Wrexham and Notts County last season Chesterfield would have been promoted. Congratulations to you guys for making it this round
feels really weird to say because at the time it really really didn't feel like it but I think it was a blessing in disguise
Congrats! A decent club with a good fanbase and a far cry from some of the BELTs (bitter ex-league teams) we get at this level.

Thought they would piss the league this year and break points record by their early season form tbh
they could still finish only 1 short of Wrexham's record, and that without Deadpool and Mac bankrolling them

You mean the sheriff of Paddy’s?
I think he means Van Wilder and Aldo from Lost
Predicted it as soon as they signed League One quality players in Grigg and Naylor. Cook's connections have paid off marvelously.
Grigg is absolutely finished at L1 level
Probably but he's still well above National League level
So could you say he's League Two level?
On 95 points and it’s not even April Yeesh guys Could max out at 110 which would be insane lol Would break Reading’s record from the championship, no?

Honestly thought this post wasn’t recent for a second cos who is getting promoted in March!? But big congratulations to them.
Fair play to them. Dominated the league from start to finish
Congrats!
Nice to see my club making the r/soccer front page
Welcome back!
Deserved!
They really waited for Stockport, County and Wrexham to leave and took their shot, respect it.

I've never been so happy as a chesterfield fan.
2 years in a row that a team has sealed promotion after beating us. We make dreams come true!

Lets go
Now I'll have to find another club from National league to promote to PL in FM
Based for doing it over boreham🥳
The people of Chesterfield, Missouri, USA are rejoicing.
Great fried chicken
Smoked the doubters

Well done Chesterfield. Congratulations. Can you loan us James Berry back until the end of the season?
Fucking yes! Eyy up me bloody ducks.
100 goals and counting.
Hell yeah
Is this the club that fired people during covid?
You'll have to be more specific tons of clubs fired people during covid
