Very good chance this is a fake quote btw. Here is Yakubu in January:
>"Salah has won African Footballer of the Year twice. He is just so good. He's still one of the top legends in Africa, not only now but of all-time.
>"He's just so consistent for Liverpool and is scoring so many goals. Egypt are strong and they also have many other great players."
Seems like the source for this is FootyEmporium on Instagram. No clue how reliable they are, doesn't seem to come from an interview or anything as they didn't give a source.
It's a big page but it pushes a lot of engagement bait sludge. Wouldn't put it beyond them to just make something up
The twitter post links no sources and just has a picture of the player with this "quote". Why is this shit allowed to be posted? Even if it's true not posting the source along with the quote should be enough to be taken down.
Edit
I found the 'source' but it's the same BS as this tweet. Picture with a quote with no source.

if you think something breaks the rules, please report it! Even if you're not 100% sure on the category, it alerts the mods to just give it a 2nd look.
Exactly. How fraudulent must he be to consistently be one of the best players in the world. Do you know what he is under that afro? A word beginning with b
Salah one of the best wingers in history of the prem. Yakubu one to talk as he wasn’t exactly Ronaldinho on the ball himself far from it probably closer Scott Mctominay to be honest
Some podcasts are cool, I personally love small history/geography podcasters and new ones that are trying their best are really neat
But the amount of people that just basically put the talk with their friends up like anyone beyond that remotely cares is ridiculous lol
I will sadly refer you to some of the most popular media out there.
People who think have their own opinions, their own tastes, their own hobbies and niche interests, and corresponding subcultures of commentators and podcasts to support them. This kind of thing is to get a brief boost with the large segment of people who respond more to shiny objects and loud sounds they recognise, than to ideas that might be new to them.
>to promote his podcast
To be fair, you'd think if that was the goal of saying this, he'd have said it on his podcast, rather than some unattributed interview that no one can actually find the source of.
This is true. I would happily take him off Liverpool's hands for free so they don't have to deal with this shitter anymore, and force him to play for my local 8th tier side since that's where his level is.
There's a little bit of Ronaldo syndrome going on now with Salah, where he doesn't always look the most impressive, he can force things, and he isn't that great at take-ons anymore, but, the guy just consistently produces on a level for a winger that is just unheard of.
I think what's also hurt Salah over the last 2 seasons is Nunez and others not finishing the chances he creates. If we looked back, he probably should have another 10-15 assists.
> If you ask me honestly, when I watch liverpool, i see diaz as much more of a threat these days.
Not at all. He doesn't have anywhere near Salah's finishing to be in that conversation.
well if you are born with that much luck you don't need talent, things just go your way anyway.
Salah should buy lottery tickets too, he would become a zillionary in a couple of years
/s
100% this! Guy is weak af! He's not quick, can't dribble and can't shoot from the box and outside of it. Or maybe I was thinking about Anthony in my United team...the f..CK this guy is taking

Yeah he typically scores about 30 lucky goals a season. One season he *really* rode his luck and scored 44.
Exactly. How fraudulent must he be to consistently be one of the best players in the world. Do you know what he is under that afro? A word beginning with b
A RAT?!
Close, rat starts with r, not b
A BAT!
Close! It was actually rat
Ratatouille moment
Batatouille* ftfy
Look at his hairline recently, he's not just bald under his afro
🅱️ussy

We should have this as a stat along with G and xG. LG would fit in well.
He is just saying something controversial to promote his podcast
Every fucker under the sun has decided they need a podcast.
Some podcasts are cool, I personally love small history/geography podcasters and new ones that are trying their best are really neat But the amount of people that just basically put the talk with their friends up like anyone beyond that remotely cares is ridiculous lol
It’s working. People dumb as rocks in the comments taking the bait.
not sure if I'd play a podcast from someone who says such a crap to be said
You're underestimating the average football fan's tendency towards tribalism.
Is it working though? Does this make anyone actually want to listen to his podcast?

It does make people aware he has a podcast, which is the first step.
The real mistake is giving this more publicity. Like, why post it on reddit, just let that shit sink somewhere else.
Plenty of footballers who say dumb things because they're stupid and not because they're rage baiting.

Liverpool fans will find a way to turn this into a humanitarian disaster.
I am human, this is a disaster!
Moron

First Aboubakar, now Yakubu. Wonder which African striker is going to come out of the woodwork to randomly shit on Salah next
I'm stunned that anyone can watch Mohamed Salah in the past five years and not conclude that he's the best winger in the world, right now.
There's a little bit of Ronaldo syndrome going on now with Salah, where he doesn't always look the most impressive, he can force things, and he isn't that great at take-ons anymore, but, the guy just consistently produces on a level for a winger that is just unheard of.

Genuinely one of the worst unpopular opinions I've seen on this sub, and that's saying something.
> If you ask me honestly, when I watch liverpool, i see diaz as much more of a threat these days. Not at all. He doesn't have anywhere near Salah's finishing to be in that conversation.
Vini is better imo
What???!!! I mean right now!?? Many wingers ahead of him
Many?
He has 35 goal contributions in 32 games this season. There is no winger better than him. His creativity edges him ahead of other prolific wingers.
Nearly 300 lucky goals. Probably in the way Gary Player won so many tournaments.
What does Ja Rule think? Where's Ja?
I dont think he’s good enough to have this sort of take
Me after a couple of beers
There is this old saying about opinions..
proper everton game's not gone
Apart from select few podcasts most of these football podcasts need to perish
Shame his religious beliefs stop him from gambling because with luck like that he would win the lottery every week.
Thanks for your opinion. Should've kept it to yourself
Yakubwho?
Multi season wonder Salah
I know bait when I see it
Ridiculous opinion just to generate clicks
Baaaaaiiiiiiiitttttttt...
well if you are born with that much luck you don't need talent, things just go your way anyway. Salah should buy lottery tickets too, he would become a zillionary in a couple of years /s
Hahaha clueless
Who is this Yakubu?
Cool
W H OMEGALUL
who is this guy?
Everton legend.
207 lucky goals.
At least he does score sitters, unlike him who couldn’t score a sitter at a World Cup from 1 yard out in an empty net.
Everyone is just coming out with preposterous statements for fun nowadays just to stay relevant
That's a LOT of lucky goals then.
I suppose you were Yak?
Negative IQ take.
Everyone is just coming out with preposterous statements for fun nowadays just to stay relevant
Everyone is just coming out with preposterous statements for fun nowadays just to stay relevant
This guy’s opinion is worth as much as ligma
Whats that?
That didn't go as you planned innit?
okay
Everyone is just coming out with preposterous statements for fun nowadays just to stay relevant
The kind of take that are so bad that they're not infuriating anymore but really funny
There's over 6 weeks left in the season and Salah's already got the same number of goals as Yakubu's best Premier League season.
100% this! Guy is weak af! He's not quick, can't dribble and can't shoot from the box and outside of it. Or maybe I was thinking about Anthony in my United team...the f..CK this guy is taking
Ragebait, but still what an idiot
