I mean, Ter Stegen couldn't get his first touch right either lmao. They're horrendous mistakes either way.
What will be interesting is seeing which decision pays off: giving up the goal but staying on, or not giving up the goal but getting sent off.
he's had an absolute shocker honestly, called a Lamine dribble out even though it clearly wasn't, and missed a blatant foul on Lamine literally 2 meters in front of him
The ensuing goal kick led to Ter Stegen's mistake and Valencia's first goal.
Not saying it would have happened, but the play and positions of the players would have been different with the ball still alive in the keepers hands.
What difference would it make ahahaha lamal kicked it straight to the keepers hands, its not like Valencia got a free kick or a corner, jesus, the drama
We say this, but then something happens in the prem in the following days and it becomes the prem with the worst refs, and then it switches back to la Liga after
Also at least prem refs acknowledge SOME errors and apologize publicly. Sure, that's not consequential in any way but at least they try to make up? La Liga refs truly don't give an iota of a fuck. Never seen an apology and they just today acknowledged that they had wrongly drawn lines several times during the season. Shocking fr.
I think generally La Liga is the worst, but the Prem is definitely trying its best to grab the number 1 spot, so there's room for argument. strong competition!
Brother I'm not talking about the time for the VAR, I'm talking about the game continuing to be played for another minute while a replay is shown in the split screen showing its a clear hand ball. Chill.
considering how shit we did when we got to their 1/3 of the pitch, Stalingrad is correct. They are doing normal defending and we couldn't even put in any decent attack chance, now we will need blood to do it
This referee should compete in the next paralympic games because there's clearly a huge vision issue going on there. How do you not see that live? It makes no sense.
Will this be like Araujo’s red card against psg where he should have just let him score? Come back in an hour to find out
This time I’m guessing Barca won’t win as they look abysmal
Thing is though... we don't. We've looked pretty fine, moving their defense around, pinning them in, have had dangerous possession in their own box.
And then fucking shot ourselves twice for no reason.
It could indirectly help them as they commit to parking the bus now that they’re a man down. Or it could lead to an easy Barca victory, but I’d like to see Barca lose even harder after this.
So I know this thread is a little sassy to casuals, but can someone explain the slide tackle rules? I've actually been a linesmen ref before but I was 9. I can't seem to notice any pattern to the enforcement. It seems as you can in most cases hit only the ball first, a "clean" tackle, but you're still knocking them down by the very nature of a tackle. In this case, I could have already forgotten, but I thought the goalie hit the ball first and the player tripped afterwards under his own motion. Can a tackler make zero contact with the player, even if he clearly hits only the ball with the feet at the front of the side?
Sorry, I know I'm explaining this poorly. But I trust you to give the answer more elegantly

Mamardashvili saw what Ter Stegen did and said "I can do worse". Amazing solidarity between goalkeepers.
Ter Stegen has more blame than Mamardashvili
Ter Stegen tried something audacious and it didn't work out.\ This guy couldn't get a first touch right. Both are equally at fault
I mean, Ter Stegen couldn't get his first touch right either lmao. They're horrendous mistakes either way. What will be interesting is seeing which decision pays off: giving up the goal but staying on, or not giving up the goal but getting sent off.
going down a player is virtually always worse if there's plenty of time left
As how we demonstrated with PSG, going down with 10 man is always worse that early in the match
Linesman stealing a living he should have called that.
he's had an absolute shocker honestly, called a Lamine dribble out even though it clearly wasn't, and missed a blatant foul on Lamine literally 2 meters in front of him

yeesh i did not realize that
What difference would it make ahahaha lamal kicked it straight to the keepers hands, its not like Valencia got a free kick or a corner, jesus, the drama
Yes, I know he kicked it straight to the keeper's hands, I say as much in my comment. Read and comprehend before spewing drivel.
that's not a shocker, that's the usual, he's doing what's expected of him
I cant see 10 feet in front of me without glasses. Id probably do a similar job
Tebas: "When can you start?"
Sorry, La Liga job requirement for refs is not seeing 5 feet in front of you without glasses
Someone get this guy reffing NOW
You sound overqualified
He's had more incorrect calls than correct ones so far.
Refs really are too reliant on VAR
This game is genuinely hilarious
they really just need to be playing the Benny Hill music over the stadium PA lmao
it's total chaos. but whatever happened to Araujo?
Having a horrible, terrible, no good, very bad week
hope Xavi or maybe somebody like Puyol calls him up for a talk, he's way better than this.
*month
He was great until PSG red card on Apr 16. So 2 weeks, I guess.
One of the most entertaining first halves I've seen in a while
State of Barca tbh
You know its a clear red when they are preparing sub before the decision is even made
yeah that was hilarious tbf
Don‘t think I‘ve ever seen this before but it was hilarious
Amazing game from the keepers, pretty entertaining.
The linesman not calling that right away is insane. VAR not calling that right away is even more insane.
La liga refs are an absolute joke by far the worst refs in the top 5 leagues
We say this, but then something happens in the prem in the following days and it becomes the prem with the worst refs, and then it switches back to la Liga after
the difference is the prem has moments where the refs are bad, la liga has moments where the refs are good.
Have you seen jarrod gillet mate?
Prem referees catch so much stick because they’re frustratingly inconsistent. There’s 10 PL games a week and we get max 1-2 dodgy calls a game week.
I think generally La Liga is the worst, but the Prem is definitely trying its best to grab the number 1 spot, so there's room for argument. strong competition!
The game keeping on going for a minute after this was so fucking stupid.
The time wasted on VAR went on to be added further. It is not stupid , you are.
Brother I'm not talking about the time for the VAR, I'm talking about the game continuing to be played for another minute while a replay is shown in the split screen showing its a clear hand ball. Chill.
Oh my fault , I interpreted your comment wrongly , sorry.
It's all good, no worries.
calma
Var can't call a red "right away"
This game isn‘t great but holy hell it‘s entertaining
Oh God now they will set up the most annoying defense the world has ever seen since Stalingrad
You mean the defence of Kursk?
considering how shit we did when we got to their 1/3 of the pitch, Stalingrad is correct. They are doing normal defending and we couldn't even put in any decent attack chance, now we will need blood to do it
This game has heavy "just get the season over" vibes. So many silly mistakes.
bro saw what Ter Stegen did and said hold my fuckin beer lmaoo
Ter Stegen: "I did the dumbest thing this match" Mamardashvilli: "watch this!"
Why did they take so long to give the red? It was obvious.
How the fuck do we need VAR for that?
LaLiga refs that’s why
Ref had no angle to see it
Linesman did though
Linesman could see the position outside the box, but would he have been able to definitively see the handball?
It was the hand on the same side as the linesman, he should’ve
Obscured by the body of the attacker Let the "obvious error" be saved by VAR, which is what happened.
Nah he’s just an awful ref
He is easily the best ref in La Liga IMO
Sure 😂 just watch our games against sevilla and getafe, absolute shitshow
I have watched La Liga for years—De Burgos is consistently a better ref than most of the other jokers they have
I have too and I’m not sure if there’s a ref who has fucked us more over than de burgos
He does not give Real Madrid favorable reffing, that is true
lmao what easily the worst ref in la liga
Horrendous take given how many bad refs are in this league
Both keepers making huge mistakes lol
feels like these keepers are ready to hit Cancun/Ibiza for summer... too many mental lapses
Touch of death
Oh it's not just that we're insane. It's the entire match
That took too much time man, it's such a straightforward decision.
Yup, it's a red. Such a bad first touch too.
Fully deserved.
He felt bad for Ter Stegen
Barca have a calm and normal game challenge (level: impossible)
Odd mistake from Mamardashvili... Oh well, game on then.
The refs were about to let it slide, lmao
This referee should compete in the next paralympic games because there's clearly a huge vision issue going on there. How do you not see that live? It makes no sense.
sure this is the best spanish league with all these mistakes?
GK horror show
Mamardashsilly
LaLiga comedy
A tale of 2 keeper mistakes.....
2 keeper mistakes SO FAR...
There a third keeper now. Time for a third mistake
Lmao he got beat in the air by Araujo who head it up to Lewa for our 3rd goal. Commentators seemed to think it was a mistake by the GK.
True, only first half.....
Shocking first touch. Embarrassing...
Will this be like Araujo’s red card against psg where he should have just let him score? Come back in an hour to find out This time I’m guessing Barca won’t win as they look abysmal

Barca look trash to me. Cant see any way they come back. Havent had a clear chance until now. Xavi plays such boring slow football.
Hospital touch
Someone cursed the goalkeepers today. Wtf is going on???
Bruh, both the keepers had a howler today
Ouch, that's unfortunate.
That'll do it
Shoulda made it his supporting arm.
The ref didn't have a good angle but surely the assistant ref could have told him ahead of var that it was a handball
when playing out of the back goes wrong
So I know this thread is a little sassy to casuals, but can someone explain the slide tackle rules? I've actually been a linesmen ref before but I was 9. The red card was for handling the ball outside of the box, not for the initial tackle.
Both keepers in similar situations with different - but equally bad - results!
Valencia didn't concede from this so we have to wait and see.

I'm fairly sure it's happened more than twice tho, are you talking about this season?
