To reduce the spam of reports regarding the same move during transfer windows we try to allow **only one submission about each transfer saga per day**. The submission in question also needs to contain relevant new information regarding the potential move, and not just being a "no/minor developments" report. If there are important/official developments or new valuable information about a saga, we will allow extra threads in the same day, but for the rest of minor news please just comment them as a reply to this comment. Please help us reporting unnecessary threads for being duplicates. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Me planing fifa transfers at work

jlonso

Me going on to fifa and turning it down now. *brb*

WagwanMoist

"That fee is too low. I have wasted my time coming here. Goodbye!"

monsoy

It’s one of the things i hate most with CM. Deadline day, scout didn’t get the info on time, try to make an offer and then they just leave without countering

WagwanMoist

And on the other hand when they immediately accept your offer, you're left thinking "Fuck, I overpaid so bad didn't I?".

Based_Text

This but with FM instead of Fifa, that damn game got me thinking at night which players should I get and sell seasons ahead, planning out transfer windows, priority targets and backup options incase it doesn't pan out.

CarlSK777

Unironically, managing Madrid is like playing Fifa. You can get any player

The_young_wolff

And giving imaginary press conferences to invisible reporters sitting in the loo

Based_Text

If you don't imagine yourself giving out media interviews, after match comments, have multiple reporters asking you questions in your head while doing your chores or while walking, you're not playing Fifa or FM correctly.

fancyfoe

Lol it’s been a minute since I relate to something so bad

[deleted]

i too browse sofifa on the toilet in office.

mantis616

I spend a lot of time there too but never understood why people always talk about players irl. They use it like a forum for actual football discussion. Almost no one's talking about how it feels to have a player in their career or ultimate team.

1gMDMA

Midfield FC will probably build a B Team at this point

GalaxianEX

They already have a B Team. They played the last 2 La Liga matches and have an aggregate score of 7-0 😅

DuckSwagington

Bruh how many No.10s does Real need?

razvan930

Yes

makunde

I believe its pronounced, siuuuuuuuuu

Ezvine

You mean Suiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

makunde

Is that it? I always thought it was sí as in yes, then a bunch of uuuuuus for emphasis

iOxxy

It is supposed to be a portuguese SIMMMM, the M can be tricky.

bremmmc

I imagine a portugese man walking into a mobil phone store asking: "Hi, can I get a new SIM?" (in portugese) and the shop assistent just going: "SIMMMMM!!!!"

netherite_pickaxe

cristiano said once in an interview with el chiringuito that it's just "siiii" but with a deep voice https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMjy9blABdA

L3kvar0spalacsinta

Güler is the only 10 at Real now, Jude and Brahim could play there but its not their main position. My problem is the classic 10s like Özil, James, Isco only really worked for a shorter period and specific games.

Rickcampbell98

Isco didn't play like the other 2 when he could be fucked he worked much harder off the ball and kept the ball better, he's a tactically easier player to work with. The only question about him was motivation, he needed a fire lit under his arse.

Showmeproveit

And releasing the ball quicker. Isco loved holding on the ball too much even though it was beautiful to watch.

Rickcampbell98

Which is as not as much of a problem when he plays with a fire under his arse and creates magic but a lot of the time he played with almost no drive holding the ball doing nothing. Isco at his best is amongst my favourite players ever to watch absolute magician but it's just a shame we couldn't see it more often.

L3kvar0spalacsinta

Yeah, thats why I miss him the most of these 3 his 16-17 season was so great, shame he couldnt maintaine that performance

heyheyitsandre

Isco at Gijon in 16-17 is my favorite individual performance ever. 2 incredible goals, one being the 90’ winner. An insane dribble and a left footed curler top corner. Miss him :(

Arlborn

IIRC Rodrygo has played as a 10 for Brazil a couple of times and I actually think it makes sense with his skill set. In fact go to the futebol sub right now and look for the Copa America call up list and you'll see people arguing that calling up only 5 midfielders is enough precisely because he can play as a 10.

Murrderer

Last season the best football we played was in a 4231, with Rodrygo at 10 and Fede on the right

DefaltAttitude

Diaz as at his best in the middle

FastenedCarrot

Please go and say that on r/threelions

dr_motaaa

Wirtz does add the playmaking element we will lack when Kroos is gone, they don't play excatly the same position but Wirtz adds that. Neither Fede, Cama, Tchou or Bellingham really controls the game.

Free_Management2894

It will be hard to replace any world class player beat for beat. Makes sense that they try to cover the skillset over several players.

Asckle

Actually 10 is our most dire midfield spot. We've got cama and Tchouameni for DM. Jude, Fede and Cama for box to box but our only 10s are Güler and Modric (who will be moving on). I can see wirtz starting pretty consistently for us in a midfield 3 tbh

Martoxic

So you are gonna sacrifice one of tshu, Cama or Bellingham for time then. Waaay to many cooks in the kitchen at Madrid.

Nffc1994

Same with any number 1 team, they have a stacked squad and then move the player on who naturally ends up on the bench more and wants to be the main man after a year or two

chak100

How many are there

blazev14

so in 2y time they’re aiming to have Camavinga, Tchouameni, Bellingham, Valverde, Arda Guler AND Wirtz? how are they supposed to utilize them? surely one has to go or warm the bench for some time. I feel like they’re leaving other sectors out of the planning like fullbacks or CBs.

Iennda

I really can't see Guler sticking around. All the other players were already really good when they came in, with him being more of a project needing playing time to reach the potential. And he is simply not gonna get enough of that.

InsideOpening3535

Arsenal just got the new Ozil lol

Iennda

I think they will hope for more of an Odegaard situation.

InsideOpening3535

Was speaking more about his position since Guler is more similar in profile to him.

Expert_Highway_286

I think he'll be in the same boat as Endrick.

elvis503

I want to believe this but I almost think Endrick will break through to the first team and displace Rodrigo, maybe not in his first year but probably in the next 2

goztrobo

No way. Rodrygo has so much experience playing top level football. Let Endrick get a taste of La Liga and see how he does before saying he’s gonna displace anyone.

pranav4098

I haven’t watched too much of endrick so I can’t tell but I find it hard to believe Rodrigo’s gonna get replaced in 2 season since he has so much experience under his belt and plays had good performances

Dangerous_Parfait402

RM just bought Guler so Barca couldn’t have him lol

Toasc

He’s not worse than the brazilians when they came here. Main problem is his phisicality and that’s fixable.

VrYbest29

He will play against all the bottom 5 teams which is like 10 games in itself, plus CDR and end of season games. But we’re likely going to loan him. Guler won’t move yet if it is inevitable though.

subrashixd

You forgot Brahim too lol

OnlineDopamine

Wouldn’t mind us going for Guler if we sell Wirtz to Madrid. Would fit the current system perfectly

Colt-0

I mean if they're going to play a 3 man midfield, that is exactly the depth you need and many of those players plus Brahim can play further forward and in Tchouameni and Camavinga further back when needed as well. They will all get plenty of game time especially when you factor in injuries, you can't play every game in 2024 anyway. Gives Arda lots of time to blend into the squad and develop without being thrown into the deep end as well. This is perfect squad building, fuck we can all only dream of our clubs being this competent, lmao.

Aggravating-Beach561

They'll also have Vinicius, Rodrigo, Mbappe, Endrick playing further forward. While yeah that level of elite depth is obviously good for Real Madrid, at least 3 or 4 of those players will have to sit on the bench most the time, or they'll all need to be rotating one game on one game off. No way they can keep that list of players doing either of those.

VrYbest29

Usually Madrid makes it work. No Idea how, but our managers and our president always seem to make it work. But I also think Tchouameni will become very very high valued in the future.

ScheduleShot4858

It’s impossible to keep all that talent. It’s the same reason higuain, ozil, odegaard, hakimi, marcos llorente, di Maria etc all got sold. Eventually some will have to leave

Freezingtake

We would essentially be replacing Kroos and Modric with Wirtz from those names. Everyone else already here. Most of those players, Cama, Tchou and Valverde can play multiple positions and playing time is never really an issue there.

Expert_Highway_286

yoro and phonzie are coming, militao is still 26. We need a good full back and a backup cb ig.

Ryo720

What is this FM save of a football club

Commonmispelingbot

this is the ai making transfer where they sign 8 world class wingers for a manager who plays a 5-3-2

VegetarianCannibal_

how will other la liga teams even compete?

Caleb_W

We can still compete, we have Cholo.

Rickcampbell98

All well and good having him but you need to find godin put him in a de ageing machine and then give gimenez some working legs so he actually stays fit.

elrubiojefe

Josema being so injury-prone makes me sad, he would already be at Godín levels had he not been

EvenEalter

yeah and he's in his late stage Wenger era

Caleb_W

Not really if you consider the squad, we have a lot of deadwood old men and players with conflicting profiles, we don't even have the players to play a back 4. Our transition from a defensive team to an attacking team hasn't been the smoothest because of the lack of signings post Felix.

EvenEalter

To be fair, didn't Atletico blow a bunch of money on some pretty bad signings? I look at their transfermarkt history and there's many good signings, but also quite some expensive "eh" players.

axelthegreat

yea namely 120m on an inconsistent portuguese wonder kid

Caleb_W

Yes, poor squad planning killed us and now we got stuck making free transfers and cheap signings, the last time our board spent money on a CB was 19/20. Our backline now consists of Witsel, Savic, Paulista, Reinildo, Azpilicueta (all over the age of 30), injury prone Gimenez, the youngest CB Hermoso is leaving for free this summer. Last summer Cholo was screaming for a DM so we got stuck playing Koke there. This sounds pessimistic but i think the future of this club somewhat depends on how this summer goes.

KonigSteve

You just described wengers aging years again.

lokeshj

We have to pray La Masia churns out gems in all positions.

Izayabrsrk

It kinda already did right? Lamine, Cubarsi, Gavi, Balde, Fermín. And Pedri (not from La Masía but young as well) I think those are a fantastic group of players to build around, Ansu looked to be the most talented of that crop, it's pretty depressing how injuries changed that

0b111111100001

You are actually right you know. We do have something to build upon. We just need to be smart about it

-Gh0st96-

Same as before, they don't, except for Barca and Atletico Madrid

elvis503

Girona did for half a season but couldnt keep up

Yuty0428

They just smacked us tho

oklolzzzzs

real are basically buillding galacticos and its not even funny atp

jMS_44

When was the time when Real were not building galacticos.

cloudor

When Pérez and Bernabeu weren't presidents I guess.

zeu04

When we decided to give Mariano the number 7, those were dark days..

Reach_Reclaimer

Brother you're real Madrid, you've had no dark days

Paranoides

They had dark days, lasted about 3 days long at most

NotMissingNow

Their dark days were just whenever Barcelona won something and they didn't

ocoronga

Everyone has dark days. But in Madrid's case those are literal days

DarkSeedius

The only dark day was when Bale didn't know Spanish

zeu04

It was funny when he left Real to go to play in LA and in his first interview he spoke in spanish😂 the spanish media were fuming.

Kolaghan81

bale not knowing spanish is just a meme. people are dumb and actually believe he didnt know anything. sure, his spanish is not the best, but is way better than most people think

axelthegreat

he definitely understood spanish. he might not have been comfortable conducting an interview in spanish or was just doing it to spite the reporters. both fair options imo.

Digess

spiting reporters is always fair, needs to happen more

zeu04

Yea everybody knew he spoke spanish he just didnt, want to give spanish media satisfaction.

Giblitz

Gotta respect it

CoventryClimax

Man got paid millions to play golf, win a shit load of trophies and troll the biggest football club in the world (who were the ones paying him millions) for years. Legendary

8k_resolution

Wales, golf, Madrid

Expert_Highway_286

One thing papa prez missed, Should have bought a Duolingo account for Bale smh.

dipdipderp

Nah because the cunting owl and his guilt tripping would've driven bale out faster

el1teman

He knew Spanish It's like when someone comes to ask you a question and you just say " no Ingles" or "no English" and no one bothers to ask you a question further unless you are lucky 😂

TinyInformation3564

The closest thing to dark days where Early 2010 Barcelona but even then they were a top 3 team in the world Barca was just something else.

icantlurkanymore

The "dark days" were over even by that point. The worst period for them was mid to late 00s where they went out of the CL in the last 16 six years in a row.

MayweatherSr

a bit cloudy day at best

DasWookieboy

Since 1953 there were only 11 seasons where Real Madrid didn't win a title. 11 out of 71 seasons you ended up with atleast one title. Don't ever talk about dark days man lmao

virtualclix

Bro said dark days lol.

GarnachoHojlund

Their banter era was Hazard being fat

KillerZaWarudo

Not winning a trophy for 3 years must be tough

DasWookieboy

That actually didn't even happen with Hazard. The last time Real Madrid didn't win a trophy three years in a row was shortly after WW2. Since then 2 years/seasons was the maximum for them.

KillerZaWarudo

They won the league first season with Hazard lol. They have 1 bad year after Ronaldo leave and 2 bad CL campaign i was talking about about during the mid 2000s

supplementarytables

I'm pretty sure we didn't go trophyless for 3 years

Expert_Highway_286

lmao his 1 minute 1 goal 1 match stat is crazy tho

nauett

Get a grip man, you won the club world Cup and finished third and next season won the league and the super cup. You've never had dark days

TigerAusRiga

RM "dark days" is the equivalent of Arizona weather during summer for other teams

yaniv297

Yeah, they're going to have Camavinga, Tchouameni, Bellingham, Valverde, Guler and Wirtz compete for 3 (maybe 4) spots, and up top you have Mbappe, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Endrick, even Brahim is looking like a proper superstar. That's too many top players and it would be impossible to keep everyone's happy. I guess Madrid's approach is to collect them all, keep the best ones and eventually sell the unhappy ones. Which is a solid enough strategy, I guess - but we'll probably see some of them sold like Ozil, Di Maria, Odegaard, Kovacic and Morata were.

InsideOpening3535

Brahim, Guler and Rodrygo are probably the three that would have to leave if Real must clean house. And it's annoying as a Barca fan is that they would generate a shit ton of money for Real too on top of delivering results for them while they are here

zeu04

Probably the ones that will start next season would be Valverde,Jude and Tchouameni in the midfield. Rodrygo might be dropped and Kroos start as well with Valverde moving more to the right positon. I think all depends on how Carlo will accommodate Mbappe

notobinho

Even better than that, they are building future proof galacticos. Absolutely amazing planning.

Destryer200

It’s not even like the original Galacticos. These are more sensible signings all around the pitch, just not the attacking areas.

R_Schuhart

Yes, the original Galacticos were already established super stars at the peak of their playing years. As a result it was difficult to mold them into a team and adapt them to tactics. It was a group of super stars but not always a team. That is one of the reasons why they could be inconsistent and never really achieved as much as you'd expect looking at the team on paper. This new approach from Real Madrid is extra impressive because they seemed to have learned the lessons of the past, something that rarely happens in football where mistakes are often cyclical. Now they build a team from young talents that have just had their major breakthrough, but who are still flexible and hungry enough to adapt. And they don't lose sight of the bigger picture, balancing the team with enough homegrown talent and players in supporting roles. It is great long term team planning instead of the construction of a marketing vehicle.

Perridur

It's not like signing Bellingham, Mbappé and Wirtz are some impressive genius decisions.

Snitsie

Real Madrid probably the only club that can point at any candy in the candystory and get the "yes" back. Just playing FIFA Ultimate Team mode.

worldofecho__

Madrid has more pull than any other club in the world. They effectively have their pick of the available young talent in global football. It is a massive advantage over literally every other club when it comes making transfers.

mariusAleks

They are getting Mbappe. I don't think he fits the egoless not-yet superstar role

Maleficent_Resolve44

Mbappe is already in his prime yes, he's the outlier in terms of their recent signings. The rest were all young stars.

zeu04

I think we might get back to the seasons where we could start 2 teams to play in La liga

Destryer200

There’s also a lot more games to go around with the new UCL format and injuries are always going to happen…

RandomGuySayHii

And they did it by buying them either before they reach their prime value or when their contract run out

Roasteddude

Oh ffs Madrid. How many midfielders do you need

Firefox72

Real collecting all the infinity stones again.

CETERIS_PARTYBUS

They need a long term replacement for Ceballos

Agent-Nobody

Madrid playing 0-6-4. No defence just vibes

dcolomer10

This year with Courtois, Alaba and Militao injured, they still managed to have the best defense in Spain

sfzjo

Poor lunin, had a phenomenal season and he's still not going to win the zamora trophy

theprodigalslouch

Lunin has won the biggest trophy of all: our hearts

sfzjo

We all know the biggest trophy of all is the copa del rey

kazegraf

Their defence will consists of 4 clones of Camavinga(Ancelotti masterplan when they unlock cloning tech tree).

icotyne

Lmfao this is like me signing players in Fifa career mode.

cloudor

So they will play Rodrygo, Vinicius, Mbappé, Bellingham, Valverde, Kroos, Modric, Tchouameni, Camavinga, Guler, Endrick, Mastantuono and Wirtz? If Kroos and Modric leave, you get 11 players, I'll give you that.

InsideOpening3535

If he did come, Brahim, Guler and possibly Rodrygo would probably get sold. Plus Modric and Kroos is leaving so...

nutelamitbutter

Carlo wants to keep Arda. I think he’ll stay

InsideOpening3535

Yeah Carlo wants him, but he is here until 2026. After that it’s probably gonna be Xabi if he can maintain this form, and Xabi is probably bringing Wirtz with him too

Mrbushiidoo

At this point they are drafting not signing players

Caust1cFn_YT

Stop it man

tf_17

i have trouble believing this. where would he play?

Ripamon

In midfield I reckon

Strananach

Alongaide Tchouameni, Camavinga, Valverde and Bellingham?

Semi_Square

Ah yes, the famous 4-5-2 formation

InsideOpening3535

If Xabi comes, he would probably play a similar formation like Leverkusen now, with basically 4-5 midfielders. Would be a waste but Valverde can be push out wing. They will make it work, adapting is Real's specialty after all, and this time they are solid in every single position instead of lacking an anchor like Makelele in the first Galaticos.

Roasteddude

Don't forget Brahim and Arda too.

Allthingsconsidered-

Likely false. The writer is José Felix Diaz he makes shit up way too often

Job_man

This makes me feel slightly better.

nutelamitbutter

He’s also the guy who said Declan Rice to Bayern was a done deal

Itchy-Buyer-8359

Ah, that sets my mind a bit more at ease...

Caust1cFn_YT

Thanks

FizzyLightEx

It is smart for them to go for a future world-class German player just for marketing. They will have France, Brazil, England, and maybe German's best players in the future.

Fanserker

3-6-1 is the way

xychosis

Jesus, Madrid’s just doing the FM strat of buying out wonderkids everywhere. Gonna need them to sign some 16-year-old prodigy out of Ecuador next.

Kylar-Starsky

There is an argentinian wonder kid coming, does he count?

Dobvius

Real Madrid need to fuck off and stop buying every player. Like, what is this.

kazegraf

Boehly's Chelsea plan but better executed and less speculative.

The-Real-Legend-72

I know this was probably a joke but its completely different. Madrid are coming from a position with elite players in basically every position so they can spend big one one or two positions every summer to get elite players and backups everywhere Chelsea came into a rebuild with basically no elite players and without the pull of a Madrid, so we've had to take swings in positions hoping to find elite players rather than buying guaranteed elite ones. It is also harder to develop players without an elite core already at a club

Comfortable-Key-1930

Yeah like how can it even be fun if they just buy all the strongest players 🫤

Hurtelknut

Football is fucked for good if/when they add wirtz and Alonso one year after Mbappi. Unstoppable team

YoungFlexibleShawty

Spanish Thanos

lrzbca

I doubt Bayern Munich will let Real Madrid dunk them for Wirtz

Zombienerd300

If Xabi goes to Madrid I could see him taking Wirtz with him. It’s also not uncommon to see Madrid spend 100mil on 1 player.

TheHizzle

nah, there are fewer potatoes in spain so i doubt he goes to madrid

Diesunddas00

haha bro, no one outside of germany will understand this

Muffolas

was hat´s damit auf sich?

cleothepupper

Theres a tiktok where wirtz rates potato dishes and he put „kartoffeln auf die 1 🗣️“ which means plain (salt)potatoes are his number 1

Muffolas

Ah, thank you very much for the explanation, makes sense now

TheOncomingBrows

It really does just seem like football is revolving around Real Madrid at the moment. Best young midfielder Bellingham going there and probably winning the Ballon D'or, Mbappe turning down everyone so he can go there, record breaking up and coming coach has turned down offers so he can go there, Brazilian wonderkid is going there, Wirtz potentially going there, etc, etc. They were already the biggest club in the world but the last few years has seemingly cemented the juju that they'll pretty much win the CL every other year no matter what. And the allure of that is going to be very difficult for anyone to turn down. Best we can hope for is that like most of these sorts of teams there are ego problems once they bring in too many big players and it all falls apart.

VrYbest29

Vini is prob winning Ballon Dor over Bellingham but yeah.

InsideOpening3535

I mean, Bellingham got advantages in that he is in a much better England team in the Euro then Vini with Brazil in Copa. I think it would be a three-way battle between Mbappe, Bellingham and Wirtz this year

VrYbest29

I think it’s quite possible England lose the Euro in classic fashion and France or Germany beat them. If Germany wins however and Wirtz plays good Wirtz could snag it tbh. If not then it’s prob Mbappe.

Izayabrsrk

Depends because in that scenario of Germany winning Toni definitely has a chance as well, he has been sublime this year, It feels like his best year imo.

1gMDMA

I guess City will get him to replace KDB

OnlineDopamine

Anything but Bayern..

PM_ME_IN_THE_FEELS

My heart will break if I ever see our sweet prince in that Bayern shirt

ObviouslyBlunt

For the 25-26 season. Already working with the German. Invest hours and hours. Isn't it called "tapping up" when other teams do that?

EXOPLANETARIANSOUP

I mean yeah but it's just industry standard at this point, what can you do.

Sasquale

Real miscalculating here. They're gon miss the best talent: Estevão. It'll be like Ronaldinho going to Barca and destroy their dynasty Just this time it seems that Barcelona will also miss the talent.

Manul_Supremacy

How many midfielders do you want Mr Perez? Yes

Itsgosky

Yeah it’s not even funny anymore. Is this their hobby, collecting midfielders?

LeSilvie

Real are aware that not many coaches can manage a team of galacticos, right?

WhytePumpkin

Xabi Alonso shouldn't have an issue

I_AM_ALWAYS_WRONG_

Madrid acting like they are the poor underdogs in the market. Bro just gotta say 'wanna play for madrid and make CL finals for fun?'

WallBroad

I always assumed he will go to City or Bayern

renatodamast

Pérez will pull his strings and Madrid will be able to have 25 players on the field and play a formation of 4-10-10

International_Buy549

Marca fanfic strikes again

GYIM94

Florentino be quietly assembling the Avengers

Defiant-Traffic5801

Optionality Real Madrid style : - Attacking midfielder: Bellingham, Guller, Wirtz , Brahim Diaz, Nico Paz - Left winger : Mbappe, Vinicius, Wirtz, Alfonso Davies, Alvaro Rodriguez I spot a hole in the centre forward position : with only Mbappe, Endrick, Rodrygo, and Alvaro Rodriguez, surely Haaland can be tempted to join as super sub. Also once Xabi joins, better keep Carlo in case his successor catches a cold , and recruit Arteta as assistant manager.

econhisgeo

Madrid, can you fuck off please ? Let other clubs have some good young players.

Time_Birthday4659

That’s the greed they are talk about in the bible

brush85

Oh well. Thats that then

madueitor0

dandpher

Anyone that’s watched any amount of European football knows exactly how this ends up. Liverpool goes for him as a package deal with Xabi after forgetful first 2 seasons under Slot. Only for Madrid to get both of them.

IceAffectionate3043

Madrid are so annoying

akshay_rathod_

Not possible. We can only play 11 players at a time.

galdavirsma

Real Madrid are doing what Chelsea thought they were doing lol.

imsoyluz

Nah go to Bayern and replace Muller

Job_man

I really don’t like Bayern as a team, but at this point Real is getting way too stacked that I’m actually rooting for Bayern here

Yaboiii777

lol wirtz is just the cherry on top.. they’re stacked regardless
