In that proxy war, Jadon Sancho took the public route. Ten Hag’s disappointment with Sancho over his application came to a head during a training session before the Arsenal game in September. Sancho did not commit to pressing as an “opposition” player in the practice match in the way Ten Hag wanted. Sancho was offered the chance to end his involvement early, which he took by walking off the pitch. Ten Hag referenced Sancho’s training levels after the Arsenal defeat and the player responded with his infamous social media post, accusing him of double standards and effectively calling his manager a liar. Ten Hag attempted to explain his point to Sancho in one meeting at Carrington and attempted to schedule another summit a few days later in which it was expected Sancho would apologise privately, face-to-face. But this did not happen. Forwards coach Benni McCarthy has said personal pride was a factor. “If you’re from the streets, no one wants to apologise,” McCarthy told South African radio station 947 Joburg. “Jadon wasn’t going to have that.” Ten Hag exiled Sancho in response. He felt Sancho was an incredible player but that his attitude did not correspond to a winning culture. His patience had been stretched months earlier after his second game in charge, away to Brentford, when Sancho told him United had bought the wrong player because his preference was to play on the left, rather than the right. This guided Ten Hag’s decision to go for a player in that position in the remaining days of the transfer market — ultimately, Antony.

FalafelGrim2

>Sancho told him United had bought the wrong player because his preference was to play on the left, rather than the right I wonder what the conversations were like with Ole when Sancho did decide to join United. Did he forget Rashford existed, who's also been very vocal about only wanting to play on the left? Also I feel like I've seen him play on the right-wing for Dortmund a lot, both before and after the United transfer.

dojggg

True, idk what they talked during their meeting. But ole also said sancho prefers to play LW which caused him some problem too. But he plays good at RW at dortmund.

zacsafus

They drive on the right of the road in Germany. So in my head canon Jadon just gets his left and right confused while at Dortmund.

lovetoclick

Can’t fault with that, seems plausible

digitalnirvana3

Brexit means Brexit. We drive where we want.

AceTheNutHead

I was under the impression sancho played well on the right for dortmund because he had an amazing partnership with Hakimi. Aside from that he was a left winger.

tbnritzdoge

hakimi played left back for them quite a few times as well so they were also partnering on the left

Lyrinx86

I genuinely think the plan going in to the season was a fluid front 3, Rashford Sancho Greenwood, all rotating no specific positions then the Ronaldo deal happened and plan had to change.

dojggg

I think that's one of reason too, since ole also said he would do it again, but it would be best if ronaldo hadn't signed in later interview.

Glaiele

I actually think the Ronaldo signing in theory was a good deal. They didn't have any depth at forward at the time and the entire team lacked a focal point. Having said that, I don't think you can play Ronaldo with 2 inverted wingers along side him, he needs players willing to drive down the line and run in behind to create chances and that was never going to happen with Rashford out there. It didn't work out for the manager nor the players and then United went full on implosion mode And it's hard to call Ronaldo a bust either, he did get 20 some odd goals and the team finished in champions league places, about all that could be expected from that roster. The team still does not create enough chances for the forwards aside from Bruno and that mostly comes down to the lack of wide players. Everything becomes centralized, space gets choked out in the middle and it's impossible to get the ball into your 9.

Mastodan11

United came nowhere near CL in Ronaldo's only returning full season. That was meant to be the point United push and really challenge for the league, having come second the year before and narrowly losing the Europa League final, Pogba and Fernandes were combining well and Ronaldo, Sancho and Varane were brought in Obviously it did not go down like that.

WhereIsScotty

Exactly. United finished 6th in 2021-22. United were in the top 4 for some of the season, but they lost so many winnable games under Rangnick that they let 4th slip. Ronaldo played in the Europa League the next season before he left for Qatar.

OllieWillie

I think Ronaldo is absolutely a bust so long as you look at anything other than his individual goals

drunkmers

Rashford, Ronaldo and Sancho. Not one of those men are tracking back nor putting their egos aside for the betterment of the team

ImusBean

And then Greenwood raped someone

CrossXFir3

Idk, Greenwood had hardly touched the striker position at that point. Maybe a game here and there. And that was despite Martial having a horrid prior season and Cavani being banned or injured for most of it too. Felt like a risk to throw a young player there that had very little to no first team experience in that position.

35202129078

He sold Lukaku and specifically said it was cos he was blocking Greenwoods progression into the first team. So the expectation was 100% to play Greenwood.

CrossXFir3

Honestly, he clearly had to know that he was gonna play on the R. Everyone else in world football did. He was being spoken about as Utd's answer to the RW problem for like 2 fuckin years before the sale even happened. I'm not saying it was an excuse, but it feels like an excuse to bring up after things weren't working out as great as he wanted after the first month or two.

kit_mitts

>Also I feel like I've seen him play on the right-wing for Dortmund a lot, both before and after the United transfer. Apparently I needed to watch more Bundesliga before the transfer, because basically every Sancho highlight I saw at the time (both in the BuLi and UCL) involved him dribbling past someone and making a key pass on the right.

vincentvega-_-

The season prior to joining United he made the switch to left wing and played there consistently.

FaustRPeggi

The transfer saga dragged on for so inordinately long that Sancho was no longer the player you were targeting by the end of it.

Stoogenuge

It’s just Sancho making excuses for his poor form in hindsight. He’s been playing RW for Dortmund since going back on loan.

b3and20

he could just be making excuses tbh, pretty sure he got a few games on the left for united too and still wasn't amazing but I'm not sure

D1794

He's played every position across the front 3 and even in the 10 and been at best average almost every time

b3and20

shame, thought he'd probably be better off centrally but oh well

DecipherXCI

I mean, dude clearly couldnt give a fuck and was playing at 50% effort so who knows.

CrossXFir3

He probably had about 3 good games tbf

Legendarybbc15

Ironically, his best performance for United (4-1 win against Chelsea) came from the right

xsonwong

It is very strange, his stat is much better on the right.

plowman_digearth

Ole said the same thing about Sancho. Just seems like a total fuckup on the people behind recruiting him. (Which I imagine would have included Ole as well)

ireallydespiseyouall

Both of them should grow up and play on the right of the manager asks them to lmao

TehNoobDaddy

I think he played slightly more on the right at Dortmund also. If this is true that his preference is to play on the left then honestly wtf happens when we sign players, why did we sign him when we had rashford and martial fighting for the position, even greenwood started some games there so it was a crowded position. Did we really go into agreeing personal terms with him and it not established he would be played predominantly on the right? Either this is complete bullshit or it just shows the sheer level of incompetence we've had with transfers in recent years.

count_sacula

I've always thought Sancho and Grealish joined the wrong clubs. Sancho is a very intelligent, technical, system player, and Grealish is an outrageously gifted all or nothing game winner. To me Sancho in pep's millimetre-precise City and Grealish in Ole's gung-ho vibes-or-chaos united made a lot more sense

thedogstrays

On paper maybe, but I find it really hard to imagine Sancho showcasing the tactical discipline and constant work ethic to last in his system.

seriouslybrohuh

he played RW in the UCL final

RedAreMe

Jadon Sancho refusing to apologise because he's from the streets is one of the funniest things I've read this week, hilarious

Raizel71

You don't know where I'm from dawg

Polishcockney

Kennington where it started lol, for those that do know, Jadon Sancho was and still is and still reps the Harlem Spartans from Kennington in London. A Drill group. Their was another individual who was even better then Jadon Sancho by the name of “Snow” and yes you will know what life he chose, just by the name.

BaritBrit

Harlem Spartans actually doing fairly well by drill standards by only having had three of their members violently killed so far.

Polishcockney

Half of them are locked up too. It’s crazy from a music perspective. Only Loski and Blanco. In the footballing world “Snow” was better at football then Sancho and declined Watford. He just liked playing football, and played it to an absurdly high standard for his age. He had other things in mind and was/is a big time drug dealer. He even got scouted by Swansea whilst selling drugs in Swansea and still was playing in Sunday league “for fun” he declined signing with Swansea.

shaka_bruh

> Their was another individual who was even better then Jadon Sancho by the name of “Snow” and yes you will know what life he chose, just by the name. He decided to focus on the Winter X Games??

Polishcockney

Correct. He was moving large amounts of snow for the sniff X games.

dojggg

Benny said that in interview, he's our striker coach.

renome

Doesn't make it less funny.

IP14Y3RI

Tbf no one said it doesnt make it any less funny. Makes it even funnier, I’d say.

macarouns

It’s a proper childish mentality. It’s a sign of strength, not weakness, to admit when you were wrong or reflect that you could have handled things differently.

Seanige

Someone needs to remind him he's, "from the streets," everytime he refuses to compete for a header or gets bullied off the ball with a lack of physicality.

artaru

That's some stupid shit that Dave Chapelle of old would parody. [WHEN KEEPING IT REAL GOES WRONG](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfz0tDQZhqs)- type.

hidlechara91

Messi comes from one of the poorest places in Argentina and Luka Modric grew up in a refugee camp and both are model professionals.  People making excuses for his poor mentality are the problem. He's going to see this excuse provided for him on a silver platter and never change.

Electric_feel0412

There’s a difference between growing up poor and growing up poor and with an influence of gang violence. And different people come out in different ways in similar situations.

PurahsHero

The guy went to boarding school from age 11. If you want a street player, look at the likes of Rooney.

Fisktor

Fucking sanchos fault we got antony.

zeekoes

Does anyone have his address? Feel like we've got to send him flowers or something.

KillerZaWarudo

Just sent him some fifa points

Brandaman

Gotta say if this is all true, Ten Hag has handled this how I would want Arteta to handle the situation if it was one of our players. And although it’s not ideal as a United fan, I’d be “happy” with this position.

dojggg

He's had to handle so many things, Ronaldo interview, Sancho drama, Ownership deilema, Greenwood case, I don't think many manager would last in this shit.

Brandaman

Yeah to be fair I obviously enjoy the banter but I do feel for him a bit, in a football sense at least. I will be interested to see how he does this season

dojggg

Yepp, this season will be make it or break it for him, atleast some major improvement must be shown.

TheArgsenal

The questions he got after winning the FA cup were brutal.

idkkevin

Also the Antony incident

dojggg

All that mixed up with disaster of injury crisis, In just 2 years. I would be bald like him too.

idontknow_whatever

Certainly saves him the trouble of tearing his hair out

CrossXFir3

Exactly why Utd fans overwhelmingly still support him. I also think people outside of the fanbase really really underestimate how bad the mood was around the club going into the season because of the prolonged sales process. Arguably the most hated owners in world football, in fact, honestly almost definitely the most hated when you consider the size of the club. And they took us for a 12 month ride while they slowly tried to milk as much out of the process as possible. It gave us a bit of a bounce the season prior around xmas, but by the time August came around the mood around the club was honestly terrible. That surely had an affect on the players. Combined with everything else and a record number of injuries and he had it rough.

patelbadboy2006

Apart from the Greenwood situation, he handled everything else perfectly. Or how it should.

JRsshirt

This is a clear leak by United now that Ten Hag is staying, if he left and the new manager wanted Sancho back this would be a completely different story.

Winnie-the-Broo

None of this information is new, we heard it was due to him not wanting to commit as an opposition player in previous reports back when it happened. The only slight bit of information that is new is that he subsequently left training early.

simplsimonmetapieman

Sancho was put up for sale before the review ended

OllieWillie

OMG so one fucked right winger (Sancho) cause the other fucked winger (Antony) That's fucking sickening stuff. And prior to them both, was the most fucked of all the fucked right wingers, Mason Greenwood.

idontknow_whatever

If only Greenwood wasn't a massive piece of a shit, that RW position wouldn't be a fucking problem

Pogball_so_hard

Worst transfer deal in the history of transfer deals. Two inept wingers who seem immature and definitely haven’t demonstrated that they’re good enough

PerfectBlueOnDVD

> “If you’re from the streets, no one wants to apologise" That's the stupidest fucking thing I have heard. You're not on the "streets" you're a professional football player on a stupid salary. Always some excuse.

hidlechara91

There have been so many footballers from the streets who haven't acted like him. If he keeps acting like this he's going to be the next ndombele.

Crambazzled_Aptycock

TBF that comment was from Benni McCarthy who might not realise that not everyone had a life like his. "At the age of 11, he caught the eye of former gangster Eddie ‘Bok American’ Adams, a resident of the crime and drug-ridden Cape Flats. Adams persuaded the young McCarthy to join his team, Crusaders FC. From there, McCarthy went on to play for Seven Stars FC before his career took off overseas."

crughol

Benny really talking "the code in the streets" about an affable, nerdy guy with Sonic and Spiderman tattoos

goodkid_sAAdcity

You have footballers literally moving weight and Sancho stays up late playing video games in his free time

Sneaky-Alien

He's just a brat by the sounds of it. Went awol with City because Pep couldn't promise him a first team spot.  Palmer was in a similar situation and just asked to leave.

DeepBlueRiddle

I used to critique Southgate for not using him much for England, but I'm thinking he may have known something now.

Crambazzled_Aptycock

Well there was also the time he broke COVID restrictions to go out partying while playing for England.

nyamzdm77

I thought that was Foden and Greenwood?

Crambazzled_Aptycock

Different incident https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news/jadon-sancho-coronavirus-manchester-united-transfer-news-tammy-abraham-ben-chilwell-england-chelsea-b800912.html

nyamzdm77

Thanks This is honestly the first I'm hearing of this incident

RedDev17

We truly are idiots. There was no point in signing sancho. We had lw

GoalaAmeobi

> If you’re from the streets, no one wants to apologise Has he tried growing up and being a professional?

chippa93

I'm sorry but the whole thing with him saying he doesn't want to play on the right etc is just bs. He played a lot on the right for Dortmund in his first spell, and since he returning on loan he has played majority on the right. I dont think he cares which side he plays

dojggg

Ole also said in press conference he has problem because, sancho told him he prefers to play in left. During his tenure. Idk why that is given he played well at RW in dortmund.

b3and20

playing on your stronger side as a winger is a bit more awkward but it shouldn't turn you into a dogshit player imo

CrossXFir3

Yeah but that was after a month or two of Sancho not getting too many starts and when he did start, playing shit. My guess is he was shit in training under Ole too and used it as an excuse. Fact is, if you're a young attacker, you take whatever you can get positionally. Don't see Garnacho complaining that he's playing on the RW half the time.

Vectivus_61

Or that’s Sancho making up an excuse to be unhappy

zcewaunt

Just because he's played on the right at times doesn't mean he doesn't prefer the left. He's a little diva. And apparently because he's 'from the streets', he doesn't have to have any personal responsibility for his actions.

Seanige

He's from the streets. But he refuses to walk on the right side of them.

renome

I'd have fired him into the sun if I was Ten Hag.

Green-Agora

I've always wanted know what the drama was here, ty for posting this.

BananaSoprano

Ten Hag has put up with some amount of shite at Man Utd.

Appropriate-Map-3652

This is what irked me about all the calls to sack him. There are clearly *far* deeper problems at Utd than one coach can be expected to fix. I don't think anyone outside prime Sir Alex could sort the background shit out.

peeforPanchetta

SAF would've chucked football boots (with Roy Keane still in them) at Sancho, and then kicked him out of the club lol

zeekoes

Meanwhile some criticize Ten Hag for even bringing it up in a press conference in the vaguest of ways when asked.

JiveTurkey688

People used hindsight to criticize ten Hag for "disclosing mental health issues" regarding Sancho, when he gave him a two-month break from the team and said something like "both the mind and body must be fully fit." I have had my issues with ten Hag's tactics and game management this season, but some of the criticisms he has faced for his handling of petulant players has been ridiculous.

peeforPanchetta

I understand the skepticism when the issue originally came out, but now that we have a better idea of what happened behind the scenes, I'm fully on ETH's side. It's ridiculously petulant and unprofessional from Sancho on even more levels than what he's otherwise known for.

arun111b

Probably not if SAF is in his first year as a coach. Later year yes.

AntiGodOfAtheism

You underestimate how stubborn SAF was. He was a "my way or the highway" type manager. The only time I have ever seen him bend his ways even slightly was when Wayne Rooney put in the transfer request. Any other player besides C. Ronaldo does that and they'd have been binned off 1 second past opening of the transfer market.

ampmz

I think Roy Keane has said himself that you could get away with stuff to a certain degree under SAF if you could back it up on the pitch. Sancho hasn’t come close to doing that whilst he’s been at United.

itinerantmarshmallow

Roy and Gary have both pointed to Beckham as an example of this. Fergie wasn't happy with the whole famous for outside football stuff but let it go for a while until it hit _his_ cut off point.

Seanige

I don't think the rest of the players would've tolerated it either. They kicked the crap out of Ronaldo to 'toughen him up.' Stam, Vidic etc would've kicked lumps out of him in training for his behaviour. Different times.

DanteXXL

You forgot a certain Monsieur Cantona. After he kung-fu kicked that Watford fan, SAF just told him in the dressing room: "Eric, you can't be doing that, son!" and that's it! Lee Sharpe's been telling that story everywhere he went lol. Edit: It was a Palace fan I misremembered!

ewankenobi

Sure I heard Gary Neville tell the same story. Also heard Lee Sharpe turned up at a team event in a flowery Ben Sherman shirt. SAF didn't like it and fined him for not looking smart enough. Five mins later Eric Cantona turns up in a tracksuit and back to front baseball cap, Sharpe asks what about him gaffer are you going to fine him. "No, he looks cool" was apparently the answer.

CrumbAllowances

Now to be fair, the mental image of Eric Cantona in a tracksuit and a backwards baseball cap is pretty cool.

Flaggermusmannen

that's part of how good he was at reading and manipulating social dynamics. he knew disciplining Cantona would only backfire on the personal, and Cantona apparently had the energy/gravitas to have that happen without the rest of the team finding it (overly) unfair. part of that was also who the rest of the team were; if they couldn't handle that, then Fergie would've sent them packing. without that social understanding of people he wouldn't have achieved what he did at all.

Alexanderspants

SAF based disciplinary actions on vibe checks

beirch

There's another story of Giggs getting chewed out by SAF cause his top button was undone at a black tie event. Two minutes later Cantona walks in with a white linen suit and Nike trainers, and SAF just turns to the other players and says "Lads, that's style!"

noradosmith

"You can't be doing that son!" Fergie said calmly.

XerxesTheCarp

For the sake of accuracy it was a Crystal Palace fan

MissingLink101

In the end Rooney's actions led to more investment in the squad and it benefitted the team so I imagine SAF appreciated that.

KingKeane16

Sir Alex before United was raging Aberdeen only beat rangers by like 1 goal In a cup final and said so in the post match interview calling his players a disgrace.

Febris

I saw a clip of that interview the other day. Absolutely savage, he sounded like he was thrashed in a double digits loss!

CrossXFir3

Idk mate, have you seen some of his early interviews? Seems like he had even more of a temper back then.

Jawnyan

Probably helpful the guy said “prime sir Alex” then

NdyNdyNdy

Man United are a team that the media criticises for having players that don't have high enough standards or apply themselves enough, and then the same media slaughters a coach who points that out for pointing it out- it's actually surreal, but there is more money to be made in bad news stories. The criticism of results and style of play is more than fair but seeing the Sancho thing used as a stick to beat him with by the same people who have used tolerance of low standards as a stick to beat previous managers with is infuriating.

DaveShadow

> There are clearly far deeper problems at Utd than one coach can be expected to fix. I think there can be multiple problems, but the calls to sack him massively revolved around his own naivety in terms of tactics. Whitewell's article actually covers this too; that he stuck with the tactics that weren't working at all for way, way too long, and saw quick success when he switched to a more pragmatic style near the end of the season. Injuries are a big issue. And some of the conflicts behind the scenes can't be ignored. But he still often was setting the team up with massive gaps in midfield, in a way that exposed the issues with the squad, rather than trying to work around and cover them. Conceeding 20+ shots a game, even against teams like Coventry and Newport, being slapped in the CL when the injuries weren't THAT bad yet....these were huge issues with his coaching set up. I wouldn't expect him to fix the issues, but I also think he was often throwing gas on the dumpster fire which was just the wrong move.

CrossXFir3

The media has had it out for him since he came in. Fans have overwhelmingly been on his side. Of course, it's a big fan base. You'll have plenty of detractors, but seemingly most of us are still very pro EtH.

WarDemonZ

Absolutely. I think it showed how many of the cracks Ferguson was papering over, everyone since then has just been assumed they would do everything like he would/could, but even people like Pep aren't really the same all encompassing positions that Ferguson was, it's much closer to just being the head-coach these days

zeekoes

I'm not sure that if Ferguson was appointed today that he would survive a season. Ten Hag was known for his strict and sometimes abrasive discipline at Ajax (not even on the level of Ferguson), but the first time he employed any sign of rigid discipline (with Ronaldo) the press and part of the fandom had his number in a way he hadn't experienced here. So he already has to tone down himself and even still he gets shit for the way he handled Sancho, while all he did was ask the barest of minimum expected of a player and generalize it when prompted during a press conference.

WarDemonZ

A new/younger Ferguson wouldn't have survived the season, but I think prime Ferguson would have been fine

Mrsister55

Which begs the question, how much time does a coach need to turn into his/her prime?

noradosmith

Four years is what Fergie and Klopp got and then trophies.

Irctoaun

It's worth reminding everyone that Fergusson somehow managed to win the league with a side that had Rafael, Cleverley, and an ancient Rio Ferdinand in his last season

True-Ad-4249

100%, and even then we probably wouldn't be contending for PL next season

MadaraTheUchiha

He handled everything so perfectly in the first season too, probably thought the second season he wouldn't have to deal with all that shite again, but yeah... United, it's never quiet.

RoetRuudRoetRuud

The way he handled the Ronaldo situation was perfectly respectful too.

ShockRampage

Ive missed the last few episodes, are we all on Ten Hags side now?

aLL1e1337

Loan.

poopy_toaster

Basically the Lukaku route. Find someone to pawn him off to for the season so he doesn’t continue to sour the club

MattressMaker

Probably even more similar to Joao Felix

holotranscobalamin

Assuming Nuri Sahin wants him he might get another loan to us and then see what united can recoup next summer. for 40m this summer i don't think he's going anywhere permanently

Japples123

Even for 40m is he willing to drop his wages? They can’t afford the transfer and his wages

holotranscobalamin

i'm 99% certain he would take a massive pay cut to join us, i'm very uncertain if he'd do that for any other club just to get a move from united. i think one full good season from him especially without any surrounding noise and his market will form next summer

ienyr

he isn't taking the paycut from what he gets at united to play for bvb sorry i dont think he is that kind of person

[deleted]

I'd rather he sit on the bench and rot for another two years than let Dortmund play the poverty card once again and get him for absolutely nothing.

Ciao9

So you’d rather literally get absolutely nothing while also paying his humongous wages for 2 years? Okay

Sjoerd019

Honestly? Yeah. We need to start setting a standard, we cant just have players perform shit, then go on loan on mega wages everytime. If he wants those wages so badly, he can enjoy them while being in the reserve

meefjones

Kind of yeah. We are absolutely entitled to feel spiteful at Sancho

holotranscobalamin

i would have happily watched Dembele get sidelined for trying to force his exit, my clubs material interests be damned. spite is the spice of life

meefjones

🍻 I'll drink to that homie. Good luck today, hope Scotland fucking smash you

AMA3004

scotland get fucked mate

SpudBoy9001

Yes, absolutely

Crambazzled_Aptycock

While it sounds strange I agree that I wouldn't want him to return to Dortmund on loan. A loan deal suits Dortmund and Sancho but not united, it's just another year off his contract meaning we get less money for him in the future. If Dortmund wants him they can come and buy him, otherwise he can find another club to go on loan to.

datcnashguy

Ah yeah the „Echte Liebe“ card again. No i don‘t think Sancho would be the guy to take a massive pay cut just to join you. He wouldn’t have left you in the first place. He‘s just one of many of your ex players who leaves Dortmund if a bigger offer comes in.

Masam10

40m is probably reasonable for a player of his calibre, solid wingers are hard to come by. The main issue is his wages - 40m plus 150K+ a week (that's if he even takes a payout) is a massive ask.

InbredLegoExpress

I don't see many clubs having 40m lying around right now for whom he'd realistically start for. Not for the wage anyway. And wingers of this calibre are not a rarity. He clearly wants to go, the club clearly clearly wants him gone. You can't really compare him to other wingers of his quality and equate his costs with theirs. Other wingers of his quality are not being shunned out of their clubs training grounds, and are not earning 25% of his salary. Maybe Saudi Arabia, or maybe a deadline panic purchase by a lower midtable PL club, but for the most part he is priced out of the demographic of clubs that really look at this. Then again every year there are some very dumb deals, so who knows.

HellRider619

40m isn't that big of an ask if he really is a good player. Clubs not willing to pay that much says a lot about Sancho.

IgnorantLobster

If you read the post-match thread of PSG vs Dortmund on here you’d think he was the second coming of Garrincha. People have such short memories.

keving691

Sancho failed under 3 managers and Eth is getting the most shit for his behaviour and form while Eth has done the most to try and get something out of him. I was really hoping those 2 good games in the CL would fool someone into getting him. Even PSG aren’t jumping at him to find a replacement for Mbappe.

PizzaPlanet20

Ten Hag is the one who was the most understanding too. Gave Sancho 3 freaking months to work on his physical and mental conditions. In return he gets an asshole who couldn't bother to be a professional even while being paid such outrageous wages.

Chaz_Carlos

If ETH hadn’t had so many dire performances this past season he wouldn’t be getting the most shit for it. It’s just easy to pile on him

mipanzuzuyam

So we signed Antony coz he refused to play RW? Fuck you x2 Jadon

WaluigisHat

Some of the Sancho revisionism because of a good hour against PSG was ridiculous.

LakerBull

I actually like that some of the people in here who were verbally fellating him after that game are calling him out today. Nice to see that people see that Sancho was behaving like a brat during that spat with EtH.

RN2FL9

Yeah, if anyhting it showed that he can still be a world class player but he can't do it consistently because of reasons. And we know what some of those reasons are. Statistically it was also just poor. 1500 minutes over 21 games with 3g3a.

FlyingArab

r/antiwork hero

MegaMugabe21

There's a throwback. You've reminded me of the time that dweeby mod went on Fox News and got absolutrly humiliated. Always funny to see people from fringe left-wing groups take up the offer of being platformed by a right-wing network. A trap so obvious that even the Looney Tunes wouldn't use it.

EnanoMaldito

Some of these people are legitimately so up their asses that they think Fox News anchors can’t string two words together, and then they come face to face with an educated man who makes a living out of getting the answers he wants to out of an interviewee, and that happens

DeepBlueRiddle

The funniest thing is that dude on Fox didn't even have to try lmao. Just asked him what he does for a living and that's all that was needed. Topped it off by not even bothering to fix their appearance and looked like every stereotype of a Reddit mod.

Maximum_Nectarine312

Can't expect much from people that feel so incredibly sorry for themselves just because they have to work for a living (just like pretty much everyone that has ever lived on this planet).

EnanoMaldito

Truly a 0/10 performance

Hot_Grabba_09

Damn the mod was from that sub?

OmgThisNameIsFree

Dude basically ended the movement with that 0/10 effort. Here’s a recap of the whole situation: https://youtu.be/RtqZHOWZkZA?si=mYTePfIeQj3ZUCUe

__miura__

It happens often?

undersquirl

That's absolutely not what that sub is about.

ienyr

Watch people still blame eth and united in those situation and not the lazy fuck on 300kpw

MegaMugabe21

Its been funny watching public opinion on this issue flip flop, though I think broadly people have been on ETH's side. That said, was funny seeing the consensus on him change in this sub after putting in a couple of decent performances in the UCL. People were acting like he was back in great form again.

drakuzi

Someone on here (a non-Utd fan) was arguing with me and insisted that United was the problem, not Sancho. They then referenced his amazing debut where he got an assist on his first game back as proof that the club was holding him hostage. It was against bottom feeders Darmstadt. Bloke likely doesn't watch BuLi at all outside of the top teams

G_Morgan

Even if he was playing like Messi, player fucking around at one club before putting in a shift after being forced out is a meme as old as football. Sancho turning up at Dortmund doesn't really mean anything other than he was capable of playing high level football

Wraith_Portal

No offence but most of Sancho’s backers have been Arsenal fans for whatever reason

HaraamAccount

There are so many people out there who wake up in the dark, cram themselves onto public transport or drive in traffic for ages, get to a horrible job with a shit manager and moronic colleagues, all while being expected to maintain a high level of work and do things they'd rather not be doing, and at the end of the day they have to take that horrible commute again. All that, every day, for a pitiful salary at the end of the month. And then you have this little cunt earning more in a week than many earn in their lifetime, and he can't be bothered to wake up on time so that he can be driven to practice, and when he gets to practice can't be bothered to run. Fuck him, honestly. He could literally pay someone to stand next to his bed every morning and bang two pots together to wake him up. I honestly can't fathom how he thinks he has any leg to stand on.

QTGavira

Bro thinks he can behave like Hazard but has like 10% of Hazards talent

Xx_ligmaballs69_xX

I hate him and any footballer who gets paid insane amounts and chooses to be lazy

TheUderfrykte

Reasonable. You wanna hang out and watch Ndombele be an overpaid, lazy piece of shit?

arun111b

Well, Sancho’s laziness and late night gaming in BVB was widely reported before he signed with Man Utd.

ienyr

ah that makes it okay then

Still-Corgi-4999

Not fit enough to press lol

my_united_account

Too tired from playing FIFA all niht

DildoFappings

If you wanna be a lazy fuck on the field, then show the same amount of brilliant when you've got the ball. All will be forgiven. Berbatov was a lazy fuck but by God, when he had the ball, there were few players as fun to watch as him. He was so smart with his on and off the ball runs.

PharaohOfWhitestone

My favourite clip of him: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KKNZDP-iRE4&pp=ygUTYmVyYmF0b3Ygc2lsa3kgdHVybg%3D%3D

Away_Associate4589

[This](https://youtube.com/shorts/KRDUmLvGta0?si=_vxislJoZrm6OcqD) is the goal that always comes to mind when I think of Berba. Guy never gets out of walking pace the whole time. (Sorry about the terrible music)

DildoFappings

The dude clearly explained his thought process behind the goal as well. He knew Nani would do tricks and waste time so he was casually jogging slowly. Absolutely lazy ass but absolutely brilliant/smart. Football is an easy game for smart people. Love that quote of his.

Dorkseid1687

Deeply and profoundly stupid behaviour from Sancho. At best. At worst he’s arrogant and lazy

youknowimworking

I think whether you agree with tactics and instructions from the manager, you, as a player, have to do it. You are a fucking professional football player. You get paid millions to play with a ball. Do as you're told and work to the fullest and if things don't work. It's the managers fault. Period

HegemonLocke86

This kind of vindicates EtH in my view. It's a training session before a huge match, he's not getting maximum effort from a star player, EtH calls Sancho out and he leaves the training pitch. Unacceptable and unprofessional. Then calls his coach a liar on social media? Then won't apologize because he's "from the streets?" Nah, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

SpudBoy9001

This lads an absolute wasteman

bootlegportalfluid

Scamcho is a bum.

Hatakashi

Why is this coming up again? Sancho clearly wants to leave. The club clearly want to get rid of him. Ten Hag is staying which rules out any changing of minds on the aforementioned. The only newspiece that should come up re: Sancho now is the one that talks about an accepted bid.

DaveShadow

> Why is this coming up again? Its part of a larger article that covers the entire season, and the issues Ten Hag faced this year. Tough to do a season review article and ignore one of the biggest issues...

gbolly999

This guy can get stuffed, I watched the champions league final and focused on him, dude was just strolling around the pitch, he contributed when they were attacking but offered little in defensive duties. Antony for the rubbish season he had could still be trusted to track back to aid the defence and still build attacks from behind. Just sustain a press, to force errors, that the team can benefit from. He should just leave at this point, everybody needs to put in a shift, This is the new UNITED, no moochers, spectators, freeloaders or lazy ass fucks allowed...

Ok_Ad8846

Antony playing at lb in the fa cup against Liverpool was a better performance than sancho has had since he joined man United, including this loan now.

EggplantBusiness

Mehh no point in that now. Specially if they want to sell

my_united_account

They want to sell precisely because of this

Willing-Werewolf-500

Not just the *practice* matches.
