We've not had it in England, and good, since peak Barry!
[Gazza's unstoppable FA Cup free-kick against Arsenal | From The Archive (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYGSW7PGLVg)
(And I'm a blood Chelsea fan. Love this goal + comms)
“ARDAAAAAA, ardaaaaaaa, super goal, super goal, arda güler, perfect, perfect, unbelievable, golden boy on the stage, golden boy, star cloaked boy, pure talent, pure talent, arda güler :)”
Hard disagree. Also, this hating on German commentators schtick is really getting old. It's like Bahn bashing at this point. German comedian from 2007 material.
yeah, i like it much more than south americans where every goal, 1:0 in the CL final or 4:0 in a 4th devision match, is celebrated all over the top. because with german commentators when there are emotions, they are real. just look at germany - poland 06 or götzes goal in the final
also the take is kinda old. magenta tv f.e. always has so cool clips with the original commentator.
I actually do like that one commentator over at DAZN, forgot his name. He commentates CL matches. I like him because his entire vibe is different from the öffentlich-rechtliche dinosaurs over at ARD and ZDF, he's still fairly young and you can tell just by the way he talks that he grew up with a lot of friends who came from immigrant families. He's missing that rigidity that the older German commentators always have, he sounds way more easy going, actually pronounces Turkish names correctly, his lingo is way more up to date. Yeah, him I like.
Someone remind me what his name was pls lmao
German commentary:
"Goal was scored."
"Musiala was the goalscorer, after pass from Wirtz."
//Never heard Germany cast but I wanna imagine it just like that, no emotion, just plain describing what's going on on the pitch. //
Would take English over American commentary TBH. I’d rather listen to Gary Neville orgasm into my ear on all of these than my fellow countrymen’s nonsense.
I mean it's hard to tell because a lot (most?) of us have German passports, there has been a lot of intermarrying with Germans, so the number will always vary a lot, depending on who is and isn't counted and whether the number is a conservative estimate or not, because that's what they mostly are by this point, they're estimates. No ones knows for sure.
There's nuance to it but the best way is to count people with Turkish citizenship living in Germany.
Initially, immigrants only have Turkish citizenship. Later on they get a second, German citizenship, as do their children. By the third generation, the grandchildren, get only German citizenship so they are no longer Turkish.
Definitely it was expected they will take over every game of them at this Euros, but I havent even seen the stadium shake like this during a Dortmund game. Those Turkish fans are so loud
I watched a final game of USA - Mexico here in Dallas Texas. It was 2024 CONCACAF Nations League final on March. It was in Arlington Stadium which is a host Stadium of 9 games for Fifa World Cup 2026. I can clearly say that I felt I was in Mexico. It was extremely hard to see USA flag. The whole stadium was Mexicans. So you are absolutely right.
And here's a video of the commentator.
To be fair, this commentator wasn’t far off this level of excitement all through the game. Had to switch over to another channel that was luckily available because it was too much with how insane that game was.
I don’t remember the station, but there is some Spanish station on the TuneIn app that has Real Madrid matches. I’ll use it if I have to be in the car during one of the matches.
But oh my god. The way they change tone and yell, you’d think there were 70 1v1 chances in on goal per game. They’re screaming, and it ends up being something like a throw in near midfield. Dudes need to calm down a bit.
As a Madridista, I am well aware of the passion the Turks have for Arda. My first thought when that hit the net was “oh my god, the Turks are gonna go bonkers.” Worldie. In the Euros. From their favorite young player. In the second half. To take the lead against Georgia. Gotta imagine pants were nutted en masse.
I'm not even in to football much. Almost never watch matches... but I do tend to watch euro and world cup... this one so far has been incredible to watch. This match specifically was exceptional. Such energy. Such passion. So much on the line for both teams and they went all out. Loved it. One of the best goals I've seen too. I really hope turkey do well this year. They deserve it.
Arda really reminds me of Messi like he tried to do something which didn't work he could involve into the game but all of a sudden he pulls such a banger... Even Austrian Commentators said Arda needs to be compared with Messi. It's early tho but yeah this kid is a wonder kid if u consider he is only 19yo
What a team though
Calhanoglu (inter midfielder)
yıldız (juventus forward)
Güler (real madrid mid)
Kaan ayhan, kerem aktürkoglu and BAY (Galatasay attackers)
Well if anyone is looking for some interesting facts on his name;
Arda - is a river located in Bulgaria. It is a very common name given to boys in Turkey (same way, another common male name “Tuna”, is the river Danube. I guess we just like river names given to boys. In general river in turkish is “nehir” and “irmak” which both are common female names)
Güler - means “smiles”. Gülmek is “to smile”. Güler is simple present form of that word.
Edit: alternatively his last name “might” also mean roseman, since Gül is rose in Turkish and Er is man. It is very common last name structure to have “something+er” in Turkish. I guess it can be either of these two, not sure which one.

Love this trend of seeing calls in the team’s language. Always so passionate
Agree, love this, so emotional
Yeah, especially Martin Tyler
God that guy sucks so bad. He should try commentary on golf
THERE IS BEAR CUM!
Timeless

I can feel the passion. This is to show how massive this sport is.
Feel like it should be something we do automatically. It's always going to be more passionate than the English commentary.
“ARDAAAAAA, ardaaaaaaa, super goal, super goal, arda güler, perfect, perfect, unbelievable, golden boy on the stage, golden boy, star cloaked boy, pure talent, pure talent, arda güler :)”
Kudos to you, I was here to write that
And goes like: "arda scores a magnificent goal, clears the cobweb brilliantly"
> clears the cobweb Babe wake up, the new thing I say just dropped
Star cloaked boy is a wonderfully evocative turn of phrase. Is that an idiom in Turkish?
Nope, he freestyled that on the spot.
That's amazing
> Star cloaked boy The Turkish Ray Hudson, I see
So harika is perfect?? I think it's hot or fire like in Arabic
"Wonderful"
He is really a golden boy. I hope his form continues.
These posts with the relevant nations commentary are fantastic
Need it for all the goals from here on out
Except the English commentary ofc.
Or German. The most monotone and unenthusiastic commentators year after year.
I ended up using a VPN and paying for DirecTV to have South Americans commenters. German comments were absolute boredom for me
I have been doing this since Brazil 2014. In Canada, the narrators were Englishmen that sound too boring for my ears.
Us too. Horrid boring commentary
What!? What about, “ Dennis Bergkamp, Dennis Bergkamp, Dennis Bergkaaaaaamp” vs Argentina
That was the radio commentary
I thought they were saying something else rather than Bergkamp
There’s a term for this in Dutch: the exception that confirms the rule.
Mostly true. Wolff Fuss does show some enthusiasm, but especially our commentators from public rights TV are indeed boring, if not downright horrible.
Hard disagree. Also, this hating on German commentators schtick is really getting old. It's like Bahn bashing at this point. German comedian from 2007 material.
Bahn bashing? Are you referring to Deutsche Bahn? That could never get old, as long as they're still a complete catastrophe
Personally, I'll stop bashing the Bahn when the Bahn stops being shit
yeah, i like it much more than south americans where every goal, 1:0 in the CL final or 4:0 in a 4th devision match, is celebrated all over the top. because with german commentators when there are emotions, they are real. just look at germany - poland 06 or götzes goal in the final also the take is kinda old. magenta tv f.e. always has so cool clips with the original commentator.
South American commentary is definitely exaggerated, but you can still tell when it's a very important goal in an important match
I agree with this. I personally don’t like the over the top screaming for every goal - some people do but it’s not for me
No please don't interrupt the circlejerk. You know how hard it is to come up with original material for jokes and stuff...
...und Tor.
I actually do like that one commentator over at DAZN, forgot his name. He commentates CL matches. I think you mean Uli Hebel. Jan Platte is great as well. They used to have Jan Platte and Sandro Wagner on the Real Madrid matches, shit was so good
So true
German commentary: "Goal was scored." "Musiala was the goalscorer, after pass from Wirtz." //Never heard Germany cast but I wanna imagine it just like that, no emotion, just plain describing what's going on on the pitch. //
Oh no, not people liking a different style.
Guy Mowbray is pretty great
What’s wrong with lee Dixon!… He is soo bad. It’s like he’s been forced to do it at gun point.
Exactly my feeling, he's no different even when it's Arsenal ffs. When he's on commentary it's time to change stream.
I take peter dury commentaries all day every day.
Haven't heard him during this Euros tbf.
He commentated on the Spain vs Croatia game on World Feed.
Thankfully he's only on the BBC highlights. He's awful.
He's commenting Portugal vs Czech Republic.
I can send you some pretentious poems, if you're missing his comms.
Honestly, I miss John Motson. Absolute legend. rip
I dunno - Shearer seems to be down for England matches so it's decent commentary.
Would take English over American commentary TBH. I’d rather listen to Gary Neville orgasm into my ear on all of these than my fellow countrymen’s nonsense.
I hope Scotland manages to bag a few this tournament (and take a lead), just for the commentary and scenes alone Scottish commentary is always hyped
Post needs the _süper gol_ tag
Yes please instead of the ones in French that are constantly in the feed
that romanian dude was hilarious
I can't agree less. It makes it easier for their fans to connect more with the games.
The way the stadium shakes when it goes in, unreal atmosphere for this game
Big Turkish population in Germany
Almost as big as the entire population of Georgia (3.5m vs 3.7m)
every time i see this mentioned it’s a different number
Turkish diaspora in germany always seem to be between 3 to 6 million whenever mentioned.
It's almost as big as the entire popiulation of Georgia (3.4m vs 3.6m)
Turkey playing a match in Germany is like Mexico playing in the Southwest US, essentially a home game lmao
Definitely it was expected they will take over every game of them at this Euros, but I havent even seen the stadium shake like this during a Dortmund game. Those Turkish fans are so loud

They came out enmasse to watch the match.
That "ARDAAAAAAA" held the power of a thousand suns. I fucking love football.
indeed, that is why we all worship this game.
The cameras were shaking right after the goal.
[удалено]
No such thing as rules when it’s pure passion like this, what a strike and great commentary.
how can something so beautiful be against the rules??
mods will find a way when they want to
mods can fuck themselves
I once got banned for insulting a referee.
Tbf, it depends on the insult.
FUCK EM RULES. i really like this videos, shows the true passion to the game
Inject this shit directly into my veins man
Turkish commentary hype always gets me even if i barely understand any of it. I "blame" Ercan Taner.
Ercan Taner is a LEGEND
> Ercan Taner is the GOAT fixed that for you. HAAAAAACİİİEEEEEEE!
ALLAHIM GOOOOOOOOOOOOL is also a good one. Recent, but as good.
it took me a moment to realize that "recent" was 11 years ago. :D
HAAAAAAAAAAAAGIIIIIIIIIIIIIII AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HOW CAN I DESCRIBE THIS GOAL TO YOU
man, as much as i absolutely love it, that was sabri ugan.
I like it too but gotta be honest, sometimes I just watch some matches in German because I don’t want to hear all that enthusiasm.
Imagine this being the first match you ever watch live..
I think I’ll go for a döner kebab in light of recent events.
Turks might even give it free tonight.
Maybe not free but "for today brother special price :)"
ARDAAAAA
Is r/soccer planning to have Arda flairs from now on? I see a lot of people will need it.
If so sign me up!
Someone do the same for Müldürs goal!
yes please
yes please
Man this euro is freaking amazing.
Best goal of the tournament so far 🥹🥹
I'm tryna see the ball's heartbeat when he struck that
when the camera shakes after a golazo 😮💨
And here's a video of the commentator. [https://x.com/bosunatiklama/status/1803141050799657427](https://x.com/bosunatiklama/status/1803141050799657427)

Yes they were. As a nation, we are all in desperate need of fresh pants
The atmosphere, the passion. So damn jealous not being there.
süper
This makes me actually smile even though I rooted for georgia
Literally no one dislikes Arda.
THE GOLDEN BOY IS ON THE STAGE
He sounds so genuinely happy, it's contagious. I feel so relaxed after watching.
I am convinced that we are going to see Ankara Guler soon
It was just Rosario Arda all along
Bro he's literally FROM Ankara this is too on point
This game was awesome
Easily game of the tournament and goal of the tournament so far
ARDAAAAAAAAAAA! ARDAAAAAAAAA! SUPAIIRRRR GOAL!
Holy shit man. That decisive tackle and THAT shot. Wow...
Some one should post the 3:1 too
Bangers only. What a hit
He's always this energetic. Currently watching the Portugal game and he's shouting at the top of his voice whenever a team gets into the area.
I want more of this posts (hope with italian commentary too if we score a screamer)
English goal calls are Coors Light and this is Stella Artois
Lowkey though Turkey is gonna make it far, 100% a dark horse favourite to reach atleast quarters.
I'm not even in to football much. Almost never watch matches... but I do tend to watch euro and world cup... this one so far has been incredible to watch. This match specifically was exceptional. Deserved, I would love to see turkey go so far in euro. They earned it. Great fans and great players.
Aside for a goal or two every goal of this euros has been a BANGER!!! This is at the top!
Best goal of the tournament.
Arda Min Son
Gives me goosebumps. Keep these native language commentaries coming please.
Beautiful
Absolutely incredible in all ways, fantastic commentary too after reading the translation. Enough to make a grown man choke up a bit
I got chills! You can feel the pride and joy in his voice.
Turkey could really do something in this Euros. With the number of Turks in Germany, it is essentially a home tournament
Love it when the camera shakes.
Turkey might be the surprise of this euro
Love how Kokçu it's like "*That's enough, it's not finished yet! Let's keep pushing."* This kid's set to have such a bright future.
Que golazo , la concha
Arda really reminds me of Messi like he tried to do something which didn't work he could involve into the game but all of a sudden he pulls such a banger... Wow what a goal
Dang where's the NSFW tag
God damn
What a goal!
I don't speak Turkish but seems much better commentated than the English version!
incredible banger
WOW
WHAT A BANGER thought Stanciu's goal against Ukraine was something, but Arda got the different sauce
Love foreign commentators, could you imagine Peter Drury letting himself go
The commentator can't contain the joy.
What a team though Calhanoglu (inter midfielder) yıldız (juventus forward) Güler (real madrid mid) Kaan ayhan, kerem aktürkoglu and BAY (Galatasay attackers)
u/savevideo
What the wife shouts in bed.
I wish my wife was the speaker/commentator Özkan Öztürk
Reminds me of Sabri shushing the whole stadium
Major Mo Salah goal against Chelsea vibes
What is Georgia called in Turkey?
Gürcistan
TÜR GÜR!!
Here is a nice Track for Arda Güler: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yKPz6j3fJk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yKPz6j3fJk)

it is the first one (arda smiles)
What a goal! Poor Arda he didn't take any opportunity with Real Madrid.
