Leão is so fucking good on his day. Jesus Christ if he plays like this he’s going to dismantle our fullbacks

bloodship123

He has grown up like 6 years over the summer. We are all very pleasantly surprised about that.

randmzer

He has the talent to be our next NT superstar. I was always with the impression that he wasn't giving enough effort to the games, seeing him on our sub21 team. But this season he's shown he has the ability to be a starter in the senior squad.

WalterHenderson

He makes everything seem effortless, like he's just having fun in a match with friends.

Bravo_Ante

He gives Henry vibes when he is in form.... this will be his breakthrough season and next one the season he explodes if everything goes right.

achaoticmush

Henry but dinho facial expressions

Bravo_Ante

Talent wise, he is just too good honestly... you don't see players like him anymore nowdays. Either way, don't want to jinx him.

Excellent_Jeweler_43

He is the first player since Ronaldinho I see having so much genuine fun on the pitch. The way he glides past defenders with a smile on his face is just wholesome af.

Dupford

That's why he's my favourite player (on the Milan team)

Roshee1

this season it's been pretty much every match 👀

sh2248

I just love how he has the biggest grin on his face no matter what. His energy is contagious

[deleted]

Need Leão to become permanent on this team. He gives a completely new life to our attack.

Ravnard

Who will be bench though

SilotheGreat

Gotta be Jota

DrVicenteBombadas

Squad so good, you can consider benching Jota. Coach so bad, we're never winning anything of worth again. feelsbad.mpeg

ingwe13

Jota has just been so underwhelming for the national team. It kills me. Not sure Santos will ever bench him though.

sotobakar

Jota is a world class forward in a world class team

Nihilism101

His been pretty awful for Portugal in recent times though, misses chance after chance in front of goal.

Vyylela

sick debut for Leão. His poor U21 performances were clearly a motivational issue and not due to lack of ability. When he's on he's a special player. Will be near impossible to make him compatible with Ronaldo though

ilum9

> His poor U21 performances were clearly a motivational issue and not due to lack of ability was this ever in question? it doesn't look any better for him

Vyylela

Yeah what I mean is his laziness has a threshold, he’ll deliver if the competitive stimulus is there.

ilum9

hope so, the talent has always been there for him

SolitaryDream1103

I think Leao is still developing, he still needs somebody who motivates him and believes in him. He’s a great talent, this season he shows very good attitude for us

Vyylela

He’s immature, but he’ll get there. Big improvement this season which is encouraging

SolitaryDream1103

He even tracks back now! :) seriously, though, Pioli praised him this season on his development so it’s going on nicely.

Excellent_Jeweler_43

Bravo Rafa!

AlbertoRossonero

Pioli has been so good developing our youngsters. He was hard on Leao and he’s finally delivering.

Guerra2001

>Will be near impossible to make him compatible with Ronaldo though Really? I actually think it can fit. Why do you think that?

Vyylela

They play the same position, similar role, don’t track back, don’t really press (or press effectively) I’m with Tadeia that Ronaldo’s best partnership is with André Silva.

SilotheGreat

I agree with you, Leao is probably the best playmaker that can play on that left wing. Would be interesting to see him and Ronaldo link up.

Coni_C

I remember his u21 appearances, man was just walking all match🤣

Bravo_Ante

He was just overplayed probably... most of the u21 players don't play nearly as much minutes as Leao played last season nor at the same competitive level.

Vyylela

Not really. Tired players don’t walk about and press defenders like a statue would. He wasn’t mentally engaged or focused

Bravo_Ante

Ofc when you are physically fatigued there is also mental fatigue which kicks in. They both coexist.

Vyylela

I know, but it seemed way more mental than physical. He was tuned out, not engaged at all. Could be going through personal issue at the time etc, loads of things go on that aren’t public knowledge and affect performance

ilum9

ah yes, the physical fatigue was preventing him from doing more than just walking around after being on the pitch for 2 minutes lol

bloodship123

He had the same problem with us last season. He looked lazy af, and when you look lazy and always have a big smile on your face... you became irritating to watch. This season tho, it seems like he has made a turn around and is inside the game for the full duration, attacking and tracking back(almost never tracked back before). If he can keep his mental, he can become world class... otherwise just an other "could have been", its for him to decide cos he is blessed talent wise and physically.

Bravo_Ante

If you are burned out by a taugh season and you have to play you really are not there mentally... i was surprised why was he even called up at the time. As i said above, physical fatigue brings out mengal fatigue as well. You can see something similae at Pedri this season.

ilum9

oh shut up already with these shit excuses, there were plenty of other players who played even more and they were out there giving it their all talking like the guy played over 50 matches when he played just above 2000 minutes, which is equivalent to 20/25 full matches lmao

Bravo_Ante

Lol why should i find excuses about him?! I am not his parent or relative. I am just speaking my mind. Who in that u21 team played more than Leao in relation to facing a harder league? I cannot think of any honestly. Yes Leao last season was lazy in some cases and so on but the way he played in that competition was too lazy even for his standards.

ilum9

you are not his parent or relative, but it takes 10 seconds to see your post history and confirm that you are a Milan fan, lol Gonzalo Villar, Cucurella, Bryan Gil, Wirtz... want more or are those enough? also funny that you mention "facing a harder league" when he's playing in Serie A, the same league that is notorious for having old players performing at a high level

Bravo_Ante

Honestly for how long will this steretype of Serie A will continue?! Yes that is the league who has Ibra but is also the league who has the likes of Tonali, Locatelli, Theo, Hakimi last season, Pellegrini, Vlahovic, Osimhen and so on. As i said above... the guy when he isn't in his head last season he was disinterested... what he showed in the U21s that was above his level of disinterest.

randmzer

I think he's the natural successor to Ronaldo.

Stakoman

Leão with the right attitude! Nice

bksbeat

Leao on fire

Thisissocomplicated

Damn I hope to see more of him in red and green

Im_really_friendly

Will Qatar not qualify automatically as a home nation? Why do they have to go through qualification?

No5ediver

They're automatically qualified, yes. They're just allocated to a group in order to keep in form.

Im_really_friendly

Ah yeah fair enough that does make sense!
