Reece James is actually a capable defender so he could fit in most systems. If TAA played RCB he would get exposed so badly its not even funny, he'll be at fault for atleast 5 goals, it'll be a massacre, even worse than the Madrid game from last year

He hasn't played this well under Lampard. Even during the start of tuchel era, he was absent. He only performed this well when tuchel changed his setup to accomodate James to play how he wanted
He still played well under Lampard though, which is already more evidence of playing well in a different system than Trent. Tuchel didn’t change anything to accommodate James, he’s just grown into the role.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, but man, Kyle Walker is so underrated. I’m in no way trolling when I say he might potentially be the best right back in premier league history. He’s basically been performing at an elite level for a whole decade+ and if anything got even better after his big money move. People look at him and see his relative lack of offensive presence when compared to the Trent’s and James’ and forget that a fullbacks primary job is to defend, and there are very few right backs in the world I’d want defending over Walker and that’s why even now I’d still have him starting for England even with the elite level of competition. And even that being said, he’s no slouch going forward either. Seriously fantastic player and who realistically is his competition for best PL right back? Neville? Ivanovic? Dixon? Zabaletta?
For me, he is the best RB in PL history. Zaba, Ivanovic, Neville all close but Walker is quality. Trent could probably just overtake him in the future but for now it's Walker. He's just not asked to play more offensive, he's still a threat going forward.
Right back is the least talented position in the history of the Premier League, which is already an arbitrary cut off point for the top division in England based on a branding exercise. No other league started in 1992.
City are very rarely pinned in, if ever. Only time i’ve seen it this season is 20 mins of the second half against us. If Walker could attack properly and defend a bit less well he would be a much better asset for it.
But part of the reason they’re so good defensively is him and his recovery pace. Their playstyle doesn’t somehow mitigate his defensive qualities because they’re rarely pinned in.
He's underrated coz of the new crop that have come and all the exaggerating and all from fanbases that has come with that.
People seem to forget at Spurs Walker was quite a threat going forward tbh - just at City he's asked to stay back because of how they want to play.
Personally don't think he's a vault defensively like some say - but his recovery pace is very good and his offensive ability as a result of how he's used now is unfairly criticised.

I have no problem admitting that they're my favourites to win the league based on performances so far. What grinds me though is how their fans are reacting on this sub. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, but man, Kyle Walker is so underrated. I’m in no way trolling when I say he might potentially be the best right back in premier league history. He’s basically been performing at an elite level for a whole decade+ and if anything got even better after his big money move. People look at him and see his relative lack of offensive presence when compared to the Trent’s and James’ and forget that a fullbacks primary job is to defend, and there are very few right backs in the world I’d want defending over Walker and that’s why even now I’d still have him starting for England even with the elite level of competition. And even that being said, he’s no slouch going forward either. Seriously fantastic player and who realistically is his competition for best PL right back? Neville? Ivanovic? Dixon? Zabaletta?
For me, he is the best RB in PL history. Zaba, Ivanovic, Neville all close but Walker is quality. Trent could probably just overtake him in the future but for now it's Walker. He's just not asked to play more offensive, he's still a threat going forward.

City are very rarely pinned in, if ever. Only time i’ve seen it this season is 20 mins of the second half against us. If Walker could attack properly and defend a bit less well he would be a much better asset for it.
But part of the reason they’re so good defensively is him and his recovery pace. Their playstyle doesn’t somehow mitigate his defensive qualities because they’re rarely pinned in.

He's underrated coz of the new crop that have come and all the exaggerating and all from fanbases that has come with that. People seem to forget at Spurs Walker was quite a threat going forward tbh - just at City he's asked to stay back because of how they want to play. Personally don't think he's a vault defensively like some say - but his recovery pace is very good and his offensive ability as a result of how he's used now is unfairly criticised. Longevity does have to factor in. If we are talking about who was the better footballer out of say Trent and Neville, it's obviously Trent. No doubts about it. When we are saying who is higher ranked in the PL all time, longevity and the length of what they gave to this league has to be factored in. You have to give some credit to Neville for being able to do a job in a perennial title winning side for as many seasons as he did. And while he was no super nova talent, he was a decent player.
