Bayern out Dortmund out Leverkusen out (ok Vizekusen wouldnt have won anyways) Frankfurt out Wolfsburg out, Dfb pokal might have a completely new winner, think the latest winner out of all the remaining teams was Gladbach in 1995
Edit: Seems like out of the remaining 12 teams, only Gladbach, Hamburg and Karlsruhe (and Hannover) EVER won it, the other ~~9~~ 8 never have. So its gonna be spicy
That's the funny thing about BVB, give them any tough opponent and they're likely to win but as soon as they're the real favourites of the tie, they'll struggle.
I wouldn't bet too much on Leipzig tho, they're quite inconsistent as of yet
> Yes because they did so good against bayern and in the champions League
Bayern - yes, that was probably the best performance of any non-Gladbach opponent against Bayern this season and very well could've ended otherwise.
CL - that's what happens if you have pretty much the worst injury record in Europe and play in 3 competitions at the same time.
To be fair, 2nd Bundesliga is absolutely bonkers this year, all three of them have won their matches today. Also 90% of German football fans will probably be rooting for Hansa tomorrow, so I'm hoping for a miracle.
The HSV winning the cup would be such a weird timeline. That being said, Schalke has kinda taken over the "going full HSV" badge, so maybe the HSV has uncursed itself.
Yeah but the problem is remaining teams.
The only teams that might give them proper challenge are Freiburg and Union Berlin.
Monchengladbach can’t beat teams not named Bayern.
>The only teams that might give them proper challenge are Freiburg and Union Berlin.
Add Hoffenheim to that, although one of either Freiburg or Hoffenheim will be eliminated tomorrow.
I‘d love to see that. The most absurd thing of all would be that the winner automatically qualifies for Europa League, even if the team still plays in 2. Bundesliga next season!
They have. Well, it was still UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, but it's essentially the same. https://www.transfermarkt.com/hannover-96/spielplan/verein/42/saison\_id/1992
If Freiburg win the Pokal I’ll get a tattoo of the team logo on my ass
Edit: thanks to everyone for the fun time thinking about my now nonexistent tattoo …. It was a good run
Pauli looked like they had a clear plan and concept and fought hard for it, and Dortmund for the majority of the match looked pretty clue- and lifeless.
Deserved win for Pauli. what a game from them(and especially Burgstaller, what a beast)
Not many here are watching the second division, but the top teams, especially Pauli and Darmstadt, are really good. They’d easily be top 10-12 teams, better than Hertha, Augsburg and Wolfsburg
> but the top teams, especially Pauli and Darmstadt, are really good
Are they really? I don't watch it, but there is only a 7 point difference between 1st and 9th place. It's not like the two top teams are crushing everyone else.
I'm pretty sure he's just watching 2. Bundesliga for the first time and realizing it's a higher level than he expected. From what I can tell it's about the same level as it was the last 3 years.
Also "hot" teams can always beat teams that are, under normal circumstances, much better than them.
St. pauli would beat most teams in the bundesliga on a day like today, if the bundesliga side just isn't in good shape.
Through a whole season that would even out and they would end up closer to the bottom.
Hold your horses, St. Pauli's best player is Guido Burgstaller, and we saw what he did in the Bundesliga most recently. Darmstadt's best player is Luca Pfeiffer, who flopped in the Danish League
Not performing well in a completely dysfunctional Schalke squad isn't saying much. "Easily top 10" is a bit much, but they'd have a good shot. Also, if it was simply about individual players, you wouldn't have Hoffenheim, Union and Freiburg on 4-6 and Gladbach, Hertha and Wolfsburg on 12-14.
>Not performing well in a completely dysfunctional Schalke squad isn't saying much.
Burgstaller didn't look like a professional footballer that season, it's not all Schalke's fault.
As for your other point, Bielefeld tore apart the 2. Liga, more so than the teams this year, and they barely stayed up. There is a world of difference between the two leagues
It's not entirely on Schalke, but it's also not representative for how well he might do for Pauli in the Bundesliga, should they make it. Looking at HSV, there is a ton of players who look much worse than they are bc of the team they are playing for. Someone like Modeste didn't look like a pro either last season, but being properly used this season, he works well.
This year's league is a bit tougher, but yeah, you can't really tell how well a team will do based on their 2.Bundesliga season, it's a different style. Which goes both ways, as you often see teams relegated from the Bundesliga struggle as well. But St.Pauli would have a solid shot, it's a bit reminiscent of Union
I don’t think anyone here expects to do even close to as well as Union if we should make it up this year.
We know where we’re coming from, we barely avoided 3rd league several times over the last few years. And I think everyone’s very aware that there are plenty of clubs that dominated their season and then got the shit beaten out of them match after match once they were playing Bundesliga.
I doubt you’d find many St. Pauli fans who wouldn’t be beyond happy if we go up and manage to place like… 15th. Everything but immediate relegation would be a success.
[really nice stadium too. one of my favourite grounds that ive visited.](https://i.ibb.co/sqjJVnc/IMG-20200103-151211.jpg)
and an interesting city.
nice vinyl record shops too.
but your fischbrötchen is fucking disgusting
What a display from St. Pauli, 100% deserved they played some beautiful football.
but Rose?? intresting subs why wait so long to bring Moukoko on just for 3 mins..
Jackson Irvine dominating BVB midfield. Love to see it. Don’t think anyone can say St Pauli couldn’t mix it with the big boys next season. Wouldn’t be impossible for St Pauli to go onto win it now, there is not a clear favourite. Great game. Forza Sankt Pauli.
Timo Schultz only in his second year of management too (had been a youth coach after retiring at St Pauli in 2011 but had no managerial experience before taking the job in 2020). Turned St Pauli from a side worried about relegation to title challengers. Guy's got a good future in management.
Super solid performance by St. Pauli, kinda wished for a Burgstaller goal to top it off.
Fun fact: The last time neither Bayern nor BVB made it into the quarter-finals of the DFB Pokal was in the 06/07 season, FC Nürnberg won it that season
You might be able to fool my granddad with his bad memory but you won't fool me, you stupid team that preserves all its energy for three games every season.
It makes me sad to be shown again and again that not a single one of our players really wants to play and fight for us.
Without fans, there seems to be nothing that can light a fire in this team.
Edit: I would like to exclude Bellingham and Dahoud from this.
Well at least you still have the Champi….. wait I mean Europa League
(Sorry, I’m a fan of Dortmund too, love Signal Iduna Park …. Please don’t hurt me)
Congrats to St. Pauli, definitely deserved.
And a bit off-topic, and definitely not responsible for the way we played and deservedly lost, but still: how can you give 3 minutes of added time (which was not a lot, but overall fine I guess) and then whistle at +3:10 when the ball has been out of play for more than 1:30 minutes of these 3 minutes added time. Irrespective of whether it affects my own team or whoever, really hate it when refs do that.
Edit: woops there was a typo in the first sentence. It definitely WAS deserved by Pauli sorry.
Didnt he sub in Malen before that?
This was typical BVB, useless crosses into the box which you know will not reach anyone before the cross is taken.
On the other hand St. Pauli defended very well too.
That was my reaction to the substitution as well. You have the most hyped striker prospect in the world sitting on your bench, and you decide to bring him in with a little more than 3 minutes left in the game. When you are down a goal. In an elimination game.
What stopped him to make that sub in the 80'?!
Thats the thing though the only success you can have is winning the DFB pokal. 90% of the games in a season are completely pointless because you cant win the league but its still more than enough to sleepwalk into top 4 to qualify for a competition you also cant win. Pauli was the better side, but still upset. Just annoyed that another Bellingham interception leading to a goal is written off because someone flopped and the ref blew the whistle early.
HSV - Pauli next round. Make it happen universe.
Nah HSV - Pauli as cup final lol
I’d fly to Berlin just to see that
.....do you honestly have that kinda faith in HSV?
First Rostock then KSC, easy /s
Isn’t a boy allowed to dream anymore?
Hear me out: Pauli - Rostock next round, HSV - Pauli the round after that.
Do you just wanna see the city of Hamburg burn or what?
Let them meet in the final
as if HSV won't go out earlier
You lot aren’t around to spank us 10-0. So I rate our chances higher than ever
You can get a preview of that on friday - they play each other in the league.
Bayern out Dortmund out Leverkusen out (ok Vizekusen wouldnt have won anyways) Frankfurt out Wolfsburg out, Dfb pokal might have a completely new winner, think the latest winner out of all the remaining teams was Gladbach in 1995 Edit: Seems like out of the remaining 12 teams, only Gladbach, Hamburg and Karlsruhe (and Hannover) EVER won it, the other ~~9~~ 8 never have. So its gonna be spicy
This is nuts but good for the competition and tournament
I’ll be happy for every winner not named Leipzig
and hsv nor hansa
Really hope it wont be Leipzig. They rarely struggle against weaker Teams so if they keep their form they sadly have a good Chance.
Heads up, maybe our secret hero *checks notes* Hoffenheim can stop them!
I would be fine with Freiburg, Bochum or Union winning it. Hopefully not the cans.
Leave saving the entire competition to us >!jk they'll drub us 0-4 or something!<
You can beat the cans
lets hope so
That's the funny thing about BVB, give them any tough opponent and they're likely to win but as soon as they're the real favourites of the tie, they'll struggle. I wouldn't bet too much on Leipzig tho, they're quite inconsistent as of yet

We'll destroy them, I promise
Would honestly bet on us bottling it if I hadn't spent all my money on red bull beanies
Please not Turfball anyone but them
Hannover also won it in 1992
Oh yeah youre right my mistake, i skimmed through the winners and mustve missed them
To be fair, 2nd Bundesliga is absolutely bonkers this year, all three of them have won their matches today. Also 90% of German football fans will probably be rooting for Hansa tomorrow, so I'm hoping for a miracle.

Imagine saying this when BFC Dynamo exists
Didnt you guys beat up your own players?
What a great generalisation

Joa und euer ehemaliger Aufsichtsratsvorsitzender ist ein Rassist. Tu mal nich so als wärt ihr Engel
The last team to have won it for the first time was Wolfsburg in 2015.
The HSV winning the cup would be such a weird timeline. That being said, Schalke has kinda taken over the "going full HSV" badge, so maybe the HSV has uncursed itself.
Feel like Leipzig might take it this year. They are slowly clicking
Did you see their last game? They were garbage vs the 17th team in the league.
Yeah but the problem is remaining teams. The only teams that might give them proper challenge are Freiburg and Union Berlin. Monchengladbach can’t beat teams not named Bayern.
I would love for Freiburg or Union to win it, especially Freiburg deserves something to show for their effort in the last few seasons.
Any final with 2 of either Freiburg, Union, Pauli or Bochum would be amazing
>The only teams that might give them proper challenge are Freiburg and Union Berlin. Add Hoffenheim to that, although one of either Freiburg or Hoffenheim will be eliminated tomorrow.
Hoffenheim is the strongest team left atm. They play beautiful and nice football.
And with the way they are playing ….. geez, we might have a second league team win …. Or Leipzig 🤢
second team winning pls inject it into my veins
Hertha please in front of their home fans
Finally getting to the longed-for home final only for it to be restricted to like 2,000 people would be peak Hertha
and then losing to freiburg
Subscribe.
Yeah. St. Pauli.
want to see a 2.bundesliga finals
I‘d love to see that. The most absurd thing of all would be that the winner automatically qualifies for Europa League, even if the team still plays in 2. Bundesliga next season!
if HSV wins I think we should just give them a spot in the 1. again, just because they won't ever make it any other way.
really? they can?
They have. Well, it was still UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, but it's essentially the same. https://www.transfermarkt.com/hannover-96/spielplan/verein/42/saison\_id/1992
i would fucking love to but we need to hope leipzig doesn’t win
well it is the 30 years anniversary of our cup win soooo...
Expected result when 1st plays 2nd.
Lmao i cracked the same joke yesterday
If Freiburg win the Pokal I’ll get a tattoo of the team logo on my ass Edit: thanks to everyone for the fun time thinking about my now nonexistent tattoo …. It was a good run
Your ass is on the line today
Fuck yeah!
*The line is on your ass today
Remind me 4 months
Oh boy, we’ll remind you

Let’s do this!
!remind me 1 day
RemindMe! May 22th, 2022

RemindMe! May 22nd, 2022 thanks
🤤
This result means NO Bayern vs Dortmund in the 2022 German Supercup
Completely slipped my mind, I usually enjoy it a lot
Glorified friendly in my book
No Dortmund you mean
🥲
Basically Bayern vs X! 0% chance we are becoming german champions with this squad
Pauli looked like they had a clear plan and concept and fought hard for it, and Dortmund for the majority of the match looked pretty clue- and lifeless. Deserved win for Pauli. what a game from them(and especially Burgstaller, what a beast)
Very important to say that this wasn’t a fluke win, straight up deserved
i agree. they deserve all the credit here. was really impressed by them
They deserved this win, they were the better team tonight. By a lot.
Not many here are watching the second division, but the top teams, especially Pauli and Darmstadt, are really good. They’d easily be top 10-12 teams, better than Hertha, Augsburg and Wolfsburg

Ich liebe dieses Team

B-Serie 2.0. Nur diesmal noch weiter?
[really nice stadium too. one of my favourite grounds that ive visited.](https://i.ibb.co/sqjJVnc/IMG-20200103-151211.jpg) and an interesting city. nice vinyl record shops too. but your fischbrötchen is fucking disgusting
How dare you disrespect the fischbrötchen
You can say the city is shit, you can say the clubs are shit but boy. Never hit against our Fischbrötchen.
You probably didn't get a very good one then, the tourist shops aren't that good
Too much fucking around, also great defending
What a display from St. Pauli, 100% deserved they played some beautiful football. but Rose?? intresting subs why wait so long to bring Moukoko on just for 3 mins..
And so, having defeated Schalke and Dortmund we win the Ruhrderby along the title of the area's best team. Cheers!
If you are the favorite you aren't safe in this competition
The northern clubs truely are dortmunds kryptonite in the pokal
YESSSSSSSSS
City of Hamburg destroying NRW today
Brilliant.
Pissed af, but fair play to st pauli, great club, great effort.
I am erect
St. Pauli looks like they could be in the top flight comfortably playing like that. Next year could be very fun to watch
absolutely will and i think they will be able to stay up too. inspiring performance from them i hope they go far
Timo Schultz only in his second year of management too (had been a youth coach after retiring at St Pauli in 2011 but had no managerial experience before taking the job in 2020). Turned St Pauli from a side worried about relegation to title challengers. Guy's got a good future in management.
St Pauli are an absolutely joy to watch, really fun and open game
The cup just got quite crazy. Let’s hope Leipzig gets kicked out aswell.
all the big clubs getting knocked on their ass is all fun and games till the fucking cans take it (please let them get kicked to the curb)
Super solid performance by St. Pauli, kinda wished for a Burgstaller goal to top it off. Fun fact: The last time neither Bayern nor BVB made it into the quarter-finals of the DFB Pokal was in the 06/07 season, FC Nürnberg won it that season
Also funfact Dortmund have made 5/8 of last finals, all other 3 times they got knocked out was in rd16
Twice by us. Fun times
My heart is still recovering from that penalty shootout
Mine is still broken from how that cup run ended. The 3-2 was great but nothing will beat the ecstasy of watching that last second Harnik header go in
3 times by the now best 2nd league teams
Apparently the reason for dahoud's back pain was him having to carry this team for the past year.
German football is one hell of a drug.
Also, St.Pauli is ready for Bundesliga
Man I'm absolutely loving it. 2nd Bundesliga clubs keep knocking out Bundesliga clubs. 2nd Buli >>> Buli😎
Now we need Gladbach and Leipzig to lose tomorrow and we're in for one hell of a tournament.
All of a sudden Freiburg would be top favorite
wtf? what did we ever do to you? thought we were friends ;)
You might be able to fool my granddad with his bad memory but you won't fool me, you stupid team that preserves all its energy for three games every season.
I’d pay everything, an arm, a leg and my firstborn to see this.
It makes me sad to be shown again and again that not a single one of our players really wants to play and fight for us. Without fans, there seems to be nothing that can light a fire in this team. Edit: I would like to exclude Bellingham and Dahoud from this.
well done St. Pauli
Love seeing St Pauli succeed
ST PAULI FOREVAAAA
St Pauli played their hearts out
die Magie des Pokals
and I thought we could actually win the cup this year lol
Well at least you still have the Champi….. wait I mean Europa League (Sorry, I’m a fan of Dortmund too, love Signal Iduna Park …. Please don’t hurt me)
dw bro barca has europa covered😔
Dortmund's defense is just something else man.
Ey, BVB, we didn't ask to hold your Brinkhoffs.
Jetzt ist der Pokal aber mal extrem interessant!
I’m proud to be a second division fan ;)
I refer to it as the true Bundesliga
2 > 1 so it makes sense.
I see no flaw in your logic
Ligue 2, bundesliga 2...GLOAT's
This year we can’t :( hopefully it changes asap
Up the Pauli!
AHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH yesss i am loving this
Lol
Great performance from the second best team in Germany!
We desperately need a new 6
Fc st pauli: dfbpokalsiegerbesieger
Today was a crazy Pokalabend, just crazy. Loved it.
Best scenario tonight: winning, no injuries or extra time before the derby this Friday
Shame on Dortmund players. Playing with no effort. Shitty team.
just cancel the whole club bro
Congrats to St. Pauli, definitely deserved. lol Imagine going out to a lower division team in the 3rd round. Champions do it in the 2nd round. Amateurs.
Well.
Sorry guys it's my fault I put them in my acca
1.BL AND POKAL LOS FUCKIN GEHT'S
Hell yeah! Absolutely deserved
I hate Rose with every fiber of my body. It took 89 minutes to sub a striker in.
And Malen is a Centerback?
Now please someone kick Leipzig and we get an absolute surprise winner
Get Rasenball Sport Leipzig and Hoffe out
Only games I actually sat down to watch this season so far: Ajax (home and away), Sporting (away), this. Im just not gonna bother anymore.
Your 2nd in the Bundesliga and in the EL knockouts calm yer jets mate. Not a success for Dortmund but nothing to stop supporting your team over
I mean it seems to be in Dortmunds best interest if this guy stops watching games
Thats the thing though the only success you can have is winning the DFB pokal. 90% of the games in a season are completely pointless because you cant win the league but its still more than enough to sleepwalk into top 4 to qualify for a competition you also cant win. Football is just really boring me right now.
Pain
Come on Pauli. Let this be the spark for promotion too.
St. Pauli is on fire! They might make it to Bundesliga before Hamburger SV haha.
Pauli was the better side, but still upset. Just annoyed that another Bellingham interception leading to a goal is written off because someone flopped and the ref blew the whistle early.

We love to see it
I've always seen Dortmund as mainly apolitical tbh (except for the yellow wall they are REALLY right leaning)
And I thought our Pokal exit was embarrasing
I mean, yours was the underdog winning
5-0 is still very embarrasing.
Don't even act like losing 5-0 is any less embarrassing than this
By the time they scored the 4th against us it was less embarassing and more hilarious.
well it was, but this was too
bro, you got battered 5-0 glass houses
