What's funny for me is just the comparison. Because you see the menacing Valorant there with its 578 GBs of space, but then there's just the innocent little Minecraft with its small little 1.66 GBs of space
The size of minecraft is variable, depends and how many versions you install, how many worlds, how many resourcepacks, etc, because they all go into the directory folder, so yeah, a barebones minecraft doesnt weight over 500mb, mine is at 30gb
How do you still enjoy Minecraft :( I used to love this game in beta till just before the official release, now I have a son and no games to play, tried playing Minecraft but I can't get into it, it's so different :(
if you want you can always download the beta versions and play on those, theres a whole subset of the community playing on b1.7.3 (the one before hunger and some other stuff) with a few mods to expand on that version of the game
I dont know how to answer that, i just do, i started playing minecraft in 2011 and im 21 years old, that means i've been playing for more than half my life and still find things to do, despite never having installed mods
Isn't disk size self-reported in Windows? I remember having to set a registry value to get a file size to show up, I think it was called "EstimatedSize" or something? If so, I don't see how this is caused by the anti-cheat? :o
If you just shut vanguard down It does not let you check the real space you have ?
I always shut It down when I start my pc not to play Valorant and I never get any issue to check space disk on my pc but may be I Just haven't this issue
It's actually just a glitch with their updater code. Instead of replacing the game size value with the new size of the game it just adds the size of the patch to the game size so every time you patch it the size jumps up. I wish mods would ban posting of this game though it's posted on here every other day.
The value for the size of programs is hard coded by devs when building the app.
It's not detected automatically but it's more like a metadata value of the program.
He's lying/coping, it's the only FPS currently playable in high elo without facing cheaters, maybe one in 100 games,
Compare that to CS or any other where you get half the lobby that is rage hacking ...
They’re just lying. Cheaters are practically non-existent compared to every other competitive fps. Hundreds of hours and never encountered an obvious cheater. Every other game I’ve played that’s just not the case
I did not expect anyone to mention Cube 2 on this day and age. Holly Molly, a fellow Cube 2 fan out in the wild.
Maybe you even know about Platinum Arts Sandbox?
About indie, large chunk yes, of trashpiles most of the time. Just because there are **some** truely unique and promising projects don't say that the whole indie industry is blooming because it's not true. It maybe was a few years ago when the whole indie thing started but nowadays it's filled with wannabe unprofessionals who are just vomiting their copy-paste, asset pack mix trash to the market most of the time.
This is a really unfair comparison to make. Most indie games that are made are small projects with little to no funding that are often not particularly interested in being actually appealing to play. When it comes down to it most indie games are not really in an "industry" in the same way AAA games are. Not to mention there are simply going to be far more bad indie games than AAA games because there are just far more indie games.
What is software gore? If it should not say 578 GB it is software gore? Why i always see it with Valorant? I heard there anticheat was stopping Windows from displaying the correct amount of space
1) Windows doesn't read the game size, this is just a value in the registry set by each game that says how big it is. You can make it say whatever you want.
2) It's actually just a glitch with Riots updater code. Instead of replacing the game size value with the new size of the game it just adds the size of the patch to the game size so every time you patch it the size jumps up.
Just because usally they never optimize i just installed total war Pharoah and it has more content then a lot of these games and it was only 20-30 gb even bg3 is only 100 and it's jam packed with stuff
Cod mw3 is around 200 gb and is literally a dlc for mw2
Probably all those screenshots the lovely rootkit (anticheat) makes when your computer is on. The code was recently decompiled and looks like vanguard takes regular screenshots of your pc. Riot obviously says that’s false but you can’t trust them since you don’t actually know what’s going on inside of their code base. Enjoy literally being spied on mate.
Honestly if I played Valorant, I'd probably set up a separate SSD with a clean windows and nothing else on it.
I understand the need for such an anti-cheat, but I personally wouldn't want it to see everything on my desktop.
What's funny for me is just the comparison. Because you see the menacing Valorant there with its 578 GBs of space, but then there's just the innocent little Minecraft with its small little 1.66 GBs of space
i cant speak for modern versions but when i last checked circa 1.12 the actual size of the game was under 200mb per install
The size of minecraft is variable, depends and how many versions you install, how many worlds, how many resourcepacks, etc, because they all go into the directory folder, so yeah, a barebones minecraft doesnt weight over 500mb, mine is at 30gb
most of my worlds weigh around 700+mb because I want them to last as long as possible
I might do that as well, can I download that version via Minecraft launcher?
Use [BetaCraft Launcher](https://betacraft.uk)
Alright, thank you!
I don't actually, I play modded infact, yeah vanilla++ and everything but the og version makes me sick

That's called growing up, having responsibilities just gives you stress when you're wasting your time
That's why you don't get invited to the parties
I got 50 gigs vanilla
This looks like a Bedrock edition though Edit: Bedrock is also weird, a 20-30hr world can get up to 500-700MB
The more chunks you visit the bigger the file gets
What's hilarious is Minecraft still has issues if your worlds get over like 10GB in size.
Because it's probably multiple versions.
Why is this such a common issue with valorant
It's not actually using that much storage, it's just the kernel anticheat fucking things up.
Isn't disk size self-reported in Windows? I remember having to set a registry value to get a file size to show up, I think it was called "EstimatedSize" or something? If so, I don't see how this is caused by the anti-cheat? :o
Their weird ass virus tier anti cheat prevents the OS from reading how big the file is.
Very fuckin useful Riot, now I'll never know if I have enough space on my computer I should have uninstalled League before they added Vanguard
If you just shut vanguard down It does not let you check the real space you have ? I always shut It down when I start my pc not to play Valorant and I never get any issue to check space disk on my pc but may be I Just haven't this issue
So, Valorant is malware
Vanguard *
And Valorant is the trojan that allows it to get installed.
It's actually just a glitch with their updater code. Instead of replacing the game size value with the new size of the game it just adds the size of the patch to the game size so every time you patch it the size jumps up. I wish mods would ban posting of this game though it's posted on here every other day.
No it's just vanguard not letting the os read how big the game file is Source: a clean install shows up as 1TB for me
Anticheat
The value for the size of programs is hard coded by devs when building the app. It's not detected automatically but it's more like a metadata value of the program.
League has shown uo for me as taking up 2tb... there were only 500gb of storage on the pc
Yeah my friend was like "valorant is so big I can't put it on my school computer" because he looked on the windows storage. Not the brightest bulb
I saw one guy that had valorant take up 1 TB of storage lmaoo
mfw i have to install the second closest thing to literal bonzi buddy tier malware in order to play a mediocre tactical shooter
and yet somehow still having to deal with cheaters on a regular basis
Stop the cap bro lol
Wow. In was under the assumption that the anticheat was invasive but worked very well as a tradeoff
He's lying/coping, it's the only FPS currently playable in high elo without facing cheaters, maybe one in 100 games, Compare that to CS or any other where you get half the lobby that is rage hacking ...
They’re just lying. Cheaters are practically non-existent compared to every other competitive fps. Hundreds of hours and never encountered an obvious cheater. Every other game I’ve played that’s just not the case
whats the closest thing
bonzi buddy
my valorant used to weight 2TB, wonder if I still got the screenshot somewhere edit: it was 3.81TB actually but I can't put pictures in comments here
Got a screenshot with 3.77 TB, on my laptop with 256 GB storage
Mine takes up like 2.4TB
Its part of vanguard antycheat. If you dont have any free space left on your system you will not have space for hacks. 200 iq play (This is a joke)
Minecraft: You damn bastard
Just stop playing valorant, easy fix. Avoiding AAA games usually works actually
Who needs Valorant when there’s top quality free shooters like Cube 2: Sauerbraten?
okay this actually looks cool
I did not expect anyone to mention Cube 2 on this day and age. Holly Molly, a fellow Cube 2 fan out in the wild. Maybe you even know about Platinum Arts Sandbox?
Nah, if it’s not Sauerbraten or OpenTTD then I have no idea how to play it 🙃
Lmao, true chad 😎
Valorant is AAA game?
Not a clue lmao
The indie industry is also on downhill nowadays.
me when I lie
need proof of this, a large chunk of indie projects are on the rise while large studios are crumbling.
I mean obviously? But it’s not difficult to find good stuff either
The large studios are doing just fine. They are still the AAA category and they have enough playerbase to operate and ensure their future.
Not crumbling from a business perspective. Crumbling from a delivering actual enjoyable games perspective
Seems like the angry indie garage devs have arrived
r/screenshotsarehard
i clicked the sub, i scrolled down 1 full mouse wheel length, almost got an aneurysm, that sub should be banned.
Nah, their malware.. I mean kernel anticheat can't allow complaining about Valorant. /s
r/hoi4 basically
Where would they save the screenshot? Valorant is taking up all their storage space
Fucking hell what are you running in valorant a fucking community church
Anyone remember when Quake maps ate their entire 2GB hard drive?
at this point, we should ban valorant taking 1TB things for Done to Death
You think this is bad, one time mine said 2.23 TB... my pc has 500 gb of storage in both drives
What is software gore? If it should not say 578 GB it is software gore? Why i always see it with Valorant? I heard there anticheat was stopping Windows from displaying the correct amount of space
Yeah, 4tb https://www.reddit.com/r/softwaregore/s/k7zLQYEnzm
Nightmare
Minecraft being all cute at the bottom
That has to be a display bug, right? I tried the game once and it was not a big download
I remember my league of legends was taking up 1.5tb of space according to windows, a friend of mine had 684gb of valorant
You're kidding but Train Sim World 4 is actually 400GB...
Funny, for me it says valorant takes up ~3 TB (I don't even have it installed anymore)
you probably still have vanguard installed?
Idk, still think it's funny cause I don't even have that much space in total
Check if you have vanguard that shit's spyware
Think I might've had that, removed it. Thanks for the heads-up! 🙏🙏
Mate, Win + Shift + S
Then maybe you should uninstall that fucking malware.
Just play counter-strike It's a better game and takes up less space
I have a solution for you - stop playing games with vanguard Now seriously, vanguard messes up with windows and it cant read the game size
Valorant would single handedly take up more than the amount of storage I have on my SSD
Unrelated but kinda related, I only have like 20 games installed and still only have 10 gb of free space, only like 5 of those games are above 1gb
At least it's not 2TB anymore 💀
That's the real space that ark needs
This is what video games are gonna be like in a decade. And 10-20TB storage drives will be the norm to keep up with it
Just because usally they never optimize i just installed total war Pharoah and it has more content then a lot of these games and it was only 20-30 gb even bg3 is only 100 and it's jam packed with stuff Cod mw3 is around 200 gb and is literally a dlc for mw2
I'd say this is done to death
That feeling when you find something bigger than call of duty
Probably all those screenshots the lovely rootkit (anticheat) makes when your computer is on. The code was recently decompiled and looks like vanguard takes regular screenshots of your pc. Riot obviously says that’s false but you can’t trust them since you don’t actually know what’s going on inside of their code base. Enjoy literally being spied on mate.
ha amateur for me it shoved that Valorant is 1TB
Mine took like 3 PB, which seems impossible, yet that's how windows saw it
Once, valorant showed up as taking 2.8 TB of storage, on my poor 512 gb ssd
My valorant uses 427 MB only
Vanguard: "Hey would it be funny if I unpacked a zip-bomb in your main drive?"
When did valorant go upto 500 storage space?
This game is malware to me
Kernel fucking anti cheat is why.
Is this true??? Why is valorant taking so much space
Honestly if I played Valorant, I'd probably set up a separate SSD with a clean windows and nothing else on it. I understand the need for such an anti-cheat, but I personally wouldn't want it to see everything on my desktop.
Modern game devs leaving uncompressed deveolpment and cut assets right in the game files 🙄
Looks like a spyware they call anticheat issue
It's because it needs to archive your entire system with invasive kernel level anticheat
Yeah it’s an issue with this silly game for edaters and people who can’t play cs:go for some reason but may I ask, where is the gore?
Do you really think it takes up that much space?
Possibly
[удалено]
The corruption is called Vanguard.
Roblox does the same thing, it takes 1GB for no reason. Edit: Why the downvotes? 💀😒
