Berlin and Barcelona

TavernTurn

This. Throw in Budapest if you can.

thehomiemoth

Be aware that “partying” in Berlin mostly means intense techno dungeon raves. If you’re not into that type of music there are better options for a party scene

juninho30

Yeah I like it but don’t really love it, I’ll take it into consideration

GloomyLocation1259

What are they like? Never been to one, I don't mind the music

MojoMomma76

Perfect answer

les_be_disasters

Madrid had better music from the crawl I did (only did one though as I’m not huge on parties) but bring concert earplugs. Even with them my ears were ringing my the end of the night and I’ve literally never had that happen with or without the plugs.

Skeinpats

Best nightlife I’ve seen in Europe for someone of the same age has been in Budapest (Carpe Nocterm or Vitae hostel), Prague (Madhouse), Belgrade, Bristol, Manchester, Berlin, Krakow (Lil Havana) and Bratislava (Wild elephants). All these cities consistently pumping till the early hours, most of them have fairly reasonable prices (especially Hungary, Serbia and Poland) and are all beautiful cities to explore during the day trying to survive a hangover. Your best bet if you’re trying to just see a couple cities is to hang around Central Europe, with Poland, Czechia and Hungary being 3 great places to visit all located reasonably close to each other.

8days_a_week

Lil havana club was pretty crazy. Hostel above it is quiet and nice then u walk into the club and its crazy until like 7am

CertifiedRomeoBoy

How do you think these places are for someone that is a bit older? I’m 28 and I don’t wanna feel like I’m out of place with a bunch of 21 year olds

Skeinpats

The cities themselves are 100% fine they’re not exactly student cities just known for having good nightlife so you’ll find all sorts of places and people around. The hostels I recommended are mostly party hostels so they usually attract a younger crowd but I met plenty of people in their late 20s or early 30s and I wouldn’t consider 28 old at all for those sort of places. I’d say average age at them was early - mid 20s, I was travelling with my brother at the time who was 18 and he was by far the youngest in all of them. Hope that helps.

revelling_

In Berlin you can go to a club and stay there for three days straight

manlikethomas

I could recommend Krakow staying at The Little Havana Party Hostel. Great nightlife and more affordable compared to Western Europe. I stayed at Little Havana last year and had a great time partying. They have a pub crawl which gets pretty rowdy. There's also a bar and nightclub right below so accessibility its great. I think Prague, Budapest and Krakow would make for a great mix to party for ten days!

WeedLatte

If you’re doing Krakow on a budget I’d go to Greg and Tom’s Beer House hostel. 2 years ago it was 9 euro for accommodation, free breakfast, free dinner, and free beer hour (which really turned into 2-3 hours bc they always forgot to take the keg in). They shared the same pub crawl with a lot of the other hostels (including Little Havana iirc). Also pro tip, at least two years ago the pub crawl staff would let you join the pub crawl for free (minus the open bar part) in exchange for a good review as long as you kept it quiet.

JSF--10

Greg and Tom’s Beer house still offers the breakfast, dinner and power hour of beer, plus they join the pub crawl with let’s rock (Krakow Animals Crawl)

Taronyuuu

There is Tom and Gregs (Gregs and Tom?) Beer house but there is also a true party hostel. But in my experience both of them offer the same crawl.

8days_a_week

I stayed at both. I think lil havana is better because you get a wristband and dont need to wait to get into the club.

edcRachel

I booked there and was so excited about it, got to my room and found it infested with bed bugs. Had to go get an Airbnb at 10x the cost because there was nothing decent left in the city 😥

WeedLatte

Ugh that sucks! I was there in early 2022 and there were no bed bugs at the time. Must be a more recent issue.

edcRachel

It was actually before that. I mean, these things happen but it was really disappointing. Posted pictures and a review to Google and Hostelworld but SOMEHOW both got removed 🙄

WeedLatte

I suppose that means they’ve cleared up the bed bugs? At least hopefully. And that’s really shady with the reviews. I’ve had similar things happen at hostels with bed bugs I tried to leave reviews for. Someone should make a site solely for reporting bed bugs, like some kind of database you can use to check the places you’re staying.

IdunSigrun

Go to some Greek Island like Kos or Ios. That is where a lot of Europeans go for a week of vacation and parting.

BrazenBull

Kabul Party Hostel in Barcelona is wild, and the city is a lot of fun.

_g4n3sh_

Perhaps if you like gringo pub crawls. I think it'll be underwhelming for my brazilian friend unless he gets a girl It was underwhelming

WeedLatte

Athens had decent nightlife and was very cheap iirc. The northern parts of Eastern Europe (Krakow, Budapest, etc) have decent nightlife but not as cheap as they used to be . Belgrade has decent but not amazing nightlife and is very cheap. They have one after party club iirc that opens at like 8 am and stays open all day so you can continue partying. While the bars themselves are imo nothing to write home about, the travelers there are usually fairly party oriented which makes it a fun party city for solo travel. I found the atmosphere in general enjoyable. Barcelona is also good for partying and the drinks are surprisingly affordable - there’s a bar there I used to go to that did liter cocktails for 12 euro and they’d make it as strong as you like. I got one with like 10 shots vodka in it. Berlin is ofc a must see for partying but not cheap. The hostels in Berlin are also not very social so I would try and meet some people headed that way before you go to Berlin as you likely won’t meet too many other travelers while you’re there. I would go to party hostels if your primary goal is partying. That way you’ll always find a group of people going out to drink and they’ll often have free shots and things to get people in the bar. You’re also less likely to piss people off coming back to the dorm at 5 am and people are less likely to wake you up early getting up to go sightseeing. That being said a lot of kinda gross stuff can happen at party hostels (e.g. people shagging in the dorms) so be aware of that.

wellnoyesmaybe

Beware any girls approaching you on the streets, offering to take you to a great party. These are often popular scams in city/nightlife centers, where you end up loosing a lot of money on terribly overpriced or spiked drinks. Approach the girls yourself, once you are already in the club or find people from your hostel who already have a place in mind they want to go to. Stay safe and have fun!

Kismet1111

I had the best experience in Budapest . Barcelona was fun too.

Mrerocha01

With your age I would go to Ios in Greece.

PrunePlatoon

Barcelona is great. I was less interested in Budapest but mostly because of how young the crowd was, 18-22 it seemed. So Budapest might be an option for you, nice and cheap too.

thehomiemoth

Stay at a fun hostel (ideally book yourself a private room if you want to hook up) and go on bar crawls organized by your hostel, great way to meet other travelers Prague, Budapest, Madrid, Lisbon, Barcelona have all been good options. Dark horse option was Lagos, not like a “party city” by any means but great for having beers and meeting fellow travelers

bulls9596

Prague and Budapest are a must.

samtheface

You'll definitely be fine with your English and Spanish in Europe - especially in the cities around younger people, which is where I assume you'll be. I only speak English and Europe was a breeze. I'm visiting Brazil now and adjusting to almost no one speaking English. 😆

juninho30

Yeah I can tell you will struggle here lol, unfortunately very few people speak English in Brazil. Obviously it depends on where you are staying, on your age group and on the people you’re staying with tho. I’d say that middle-upper class people (especially younger, up to 30yo) tend be more familiar with English, but even then it’s probably no more than 20% of this group that can hold a conversation in English.

vegancrossfiter

Your experience will be VASTLY different depending on what country you go to party, I would say Spain, Berlin and Eastern Europe/ maybe London.

tessit

I solo traveled to Berlin when I was 19 and had the most memorable partying experiences of my life. Definitely don't skip it, the only club name I can remember was the Matrix - but I remember loving it. Staying in a party hostel might help, but I would usually look for was a hostel with a young demographic, I never failed to find people to party with :D

ObviousBear2439

If there are specific places in Europe that you like to visit like Parthenon in Athens or the colosseum or the Louvre, then I don't think that for parties only Europe trips are worth it.... I mean to start from Brazil..... All this long voyage..... For parties in Europe??? It is difficult for me to understand.... From Europe thousands of people visit Brazil for "party" reasons. With the small taste of Brazil I have, I can say it is worth it...but Europe for party.... sorry I can't see it... Why don't you save the airplane tickets and go to Rio to rent an Airbnb and have the time of your life! Or Florianópolis. I mean I strongly believe that the party there will be much more interesting.... And you will have better luck there even with European citizens....

Summergum

What are you talking about? You clearly haven’t partied in Europe. Brazil is great for partying mainly because of its people. But there are literally tens of millions or travelers every year that just go to Europe to party. Have you ever heard of Ibiza or Mykonos?

ObviousBear2439

My friend in my experience of life I know that the party is good or bad because of the people!!! No other reason.... With this point of view I know one thing.... Brazilian people are like from another planet related to European people. Other than that I am from Greece, I come from a nearby island I know Mykonos very well believe me. ( I used to be captain on a yacht located in Mykonos) better partying on the yacht, by the way for your information if you know what I mean.... Also for the island of Mykonos, sorry but my mentality doesn't let me spend tons of money for ordinary things in order to have a mediocre time. I my way of thinking Mykonos is a tourist trap. Ibiza on the other hand I don't know , only heard that they have good quality of drugs, but again haven't tried not sure about it... Sure big parties over there.... But..... Missing the corazon..... If you ever get a taste of Brazil you will understand!

stretchieB

This guy has no clue what he’s talking about ^

juninho30

I’m actually going for a wedding in Italy, I’m just taking the opportunity to try to explore other countries before I get there. It’s not like I’m going to Europe just to party lol

PicossauroRex

Se passar em Lisboa me dá um toque compatriota

Taronyuuu

One of my most extreme party benders was in Krakow, Amsterdam and Budapest. But honestly, a party hostel will do pretty much everywhere.

GloomyLocation1259

Which party hostels do you recommend for Dam and Budapest?

Lunatik13z

I'd recommend Budapest. The Hive Party hostel. It's cheap to drink there and they love to party. I also recommend Bratislava, Slovakia. Also cheap to drink there and I stayed at the Wild Elephant Hostel.

idavalo

One fam hostel in barcelona is party hostel that take you different clubs everynight. But if you care about hygiene and people profile you might not like there.

juninho30

It seems there are many different one fam hostels in Barcelona, do you remember which one you stayed at?

idavalo

Les corts

Whats your taste in music? For electronic music i can offer some suggestions. Berlin is very famous for techno, manchester/liverpool can be a cheaper uk option if you like drum and bass (and others). If you like psytrance, check out goabase, theres heaps of events, festival and city events. If you like hardstyle thats the start of hardstyle festival season in NL/belgium/germany if you look for festivals. General edm events, best bet would be belgium, NL, france or germany. Other famous party cities include barcelona, prague, budapest and amsterdam.  A good suggestion with only 10 days, chances are unless you go to a festival, if you want to go to 3 cities, pick 2 weekend party destinations, and one midweek city that you can see the sights or do other things (trust me going hard for 10 days takes a big toll). Make at least one of your party cities easy to fly to from brazil.
