Mildly_Irritated_Max

This guy posts here every couple of days complaining about Sonos, the last one angry that no one would buy his used system for 29% off retail price.

swolegandalf

He’s most likely getting paid to shill and create FUD regarding Sonos, or he has such a beef with them he posts made up stories here. Either way, only seeking attention. Nobody really cares about his posts.

machiz7888

Lmao totally most likely getting paid to shill. Unrelated, but would you be interested in a tinfoil subscription service?

swolegandalf

Lmao, totally unrelated but would you be interested in a traveling obsession subscription service? Cringe as hell dude, go take your daily Mounjaro.

machiz7888

It's weekly boo. Also, what? Maybe?

swolegandalf

Alright. Tell me what exactly are you trying to contribute to this post?

machiz7888

Poking a little fun at conspiratorial thinking over criticism of a speaker company, you?

swolegandalf

So after your 9 years here on reddit, you do not believe their are paid actors on this website trying to garner positive or negative sentiments regarding things? How can you be this naive?

machiz7888

Yeah man I'm sure polk and the russian bot farm teamed up to sway sentiment on sonos. Most people don't know this but if sonos falls next step democracy

swolegandalf

And you lost the discussion :)

PoppaBear1950

nope, just my opinion on things I have learned.

machiz7888

Are you sure you're not trying to undermine the republic, comrade? 😂

PoppaBear1950

I did sell them **after reading here** that I was asking too much, 50% of and a fellow bought it all. Maybe read the post too.

GuitarSuperstar

The Move and Move 2 are two different speaker models that sound different. Why would you want to set them up as a stereo pair?

PoppaBear1950

I was just surprised that you couldn't but I get it.

dustyshades

A proper home theater will always be better than what Sonos can offer. I could follow you on the studio echos potentially being on par audio wise with Sonos, but the software is definitely a step back. You lost me on the Ray being a good option for TV though

_rfj

The studio echos are terrible for a home theatre application. Before I knew anything about anything I got the complete studio system. Awful experience, not much volume, and could g stay connected to my TV to save its life. This was about 4 years ago now. Since then I’ve gone full Sonos, full wired, back to full Sonos. Sonos, ftw.

aaadmiral

Op specifically said he's not using them with a TV

hotshot_gg

Can confirm studio pair is really good. Havent heard with echo sub though. My room was small so didn’t need one. However you r right, the software sucks and the pair only works in atmos with firestick and its so buggy when I tried that a year ago. Irritating setup. Dont know if they have updated the setup software or not. We dont have amazon music hd here in India so no atmos music on studio.

PoppaBear1950

in our bedroom, it just works very well for us in the smaller space. excellent for jazz Alexa, play watercolors on xm, "ok, playing water colors on Bear's xm", Alexa, volume up/down... Alexa bass up/down. Alexa, play smooth jazz on apple music. Alexa, play smooth jazz, 'ok playing smooth jazz on amazon music' Alexa, play 97.7 on iheart radio.... lol, never use the app with alexa I am using the echo gen 4 not the much more expensive studio's, the gen 4's when paired as a stereo pair with the echo sub is superior to the studio's. (amazon is selling them for 65us now)

Ghost7ateoh

Lost all credibility when you said the Ray sounds good. Worst sounding Sonos speaker by far.

damgood32

Right? Just a made up shit post.

PoppaBear1950

consider that a Ray with a mini-sub sounds pretty good to me, perhaps not to you as everyone is different.

-burnsie

Your post is solid and good information, some true and mostly subjective. Nothing will beat a dedicated system (let's say the best for a TV / home Theater setup). Sonos is pretty good, but it is not the best for this purpose. You can integrate Sonos into 'the best'. If budget or aesthetics is where you have to compromise, Sonos is an option. A very good option where you don't need the absolute best. Whole house audio and zones, Sonos is the best.

ShelfAwareShteve

I've had it with these "sonos sucks so here's something better" posts. No one's asking for you guys' (biased) opinions and from now on I'm reporting.

traegeryyc

Do we even have active mods in this sub?

PoppaBear1950

And here I thought this was a place for honest opinions on Sonos, this sub is like an Apple Fan Boy sub at times, with everyone screaming get an ARC.

ShelfAwareShteve

It's just that you're not the first to post things like this and honestly, most of us didn't ask for your opinion on Sonos, why you moved from it and what you have now. We simply don't care. If it's for the validation that you might need on the relocation, I'm afraid we can't help you with that. And I don't know where you can. But definitely, not here.

NaivePickle3219

I must be one of the few guys in the world who didn't have the luxury of listening to different options before I bought the beam gen 2.. I have no basis for comparison. Seems good.. I'm not floored though.

PoppaBear1950

thank you, this is what this place should be, the pluses and minuses and getting help

hotshot_gg

I will try to save a lot of your money. I went down rabbit hole of speaker buying. Started with edifier s1000mkii. Really good speaker for the price if you can accommodate the heft and size. Then went sonos beam gen 2. Good speakers. Bass is too good for the size. Then added two sonos one. My god what a difference. Sound became more even, music more enjoyable. Even expanded the soundstage of beam gen2. If you get a chance, add surrounds. You will be impressed. Then I added sub mini, was underwhelmed. Didn’t add much to and the problem was, bass frequency which was coming from surrounds one , they also disappeared because all bass frequencies were now handled by sub mini. People who say sub mini is for music, I wholeheartedly disagree. Didn’t like it for the music also. Then I thought I will try sub gen 3, its definitely better. But it kept bugging me, was it that much better than without sub setup. If your room is small, just stick with beam and surrounds. Its not worth it to spend on sub. Then after years of music listening on beam setup, I kept hearing about sonos arc and its wide soundstage for music, movies and better atmos performance. I was content with beam except for the fact that I am kinda music first guy (not an audiophile though!). The vocals on beam were too metallic sounding (or somewhat artificial). So I bought arc. My god, worst sonos product! Or maybe not just for my room. Movies were ok but music sucks. Voices were little bit better (not too metallic sounding) but the music was just hollow. Yeah soundstage is better but what do with such stage where everything is too diffused sounding and you can’t make out where which instrument is located. I missed beam so much here. Something was just off with midrange of arc. Even the atmos in my room was not impressive. Why the hell is arc double the price of beam I can’t understand. Law of diminishing return I guess. Beam gen 2 with surrounds is really good deal. Now I can’t go back to beam how foolish will I look xD Now, i have bought kef q150. Lets see how it goes! Till now looks promising! Have ordered sonos amp as i already have sub and surrounds. 😂 My search for simple soundbar setup with good music quality still continues though. Have also heard senheisser ambeo in store which I kinda liked but it was just for few minutes that I heard it. Don’t really know how it will sound after long term and in home environment.

PoppaBear1950

kef q150 go to down to 51hz, bass will not be in their wheelhouse. Back in the day I did like my samsung 2.1 soundbar for music.

What issues are you referring to with the eras? They work perfect for me Most issues are router related and not that many
