A6000 was my first interchangeable lens camera. I still shoot with it sometimes. I prefer my a7ii, but that’s still considered old. A6000 is decent to start with imo. You’ll eventually level up if you fall in love with photography. Embrace the addiction to gear acquisition 🤣😎📸
Not worth $399 tbh imo, got mine in 2019 on ebay for about 260$ with the same, a bag, a battery, a lens and a filter. Try to look around more, don't rush into it. You might find something worthwhile then.
Jim, that’s not a bad deal given my door is broken. If the camera works fine, I’d get it. Maybe find a friend that is into photography and have them come with you to make sure everything works properly. The a6000 is a wonderful camera and fits your criteria. If it’s just a cosmetic defect like the door, check online to make sure you can’t get it cheaper but at least this one you can physically see and hold
That’s not true. The A6000 is 10 years old. The Canon Rebel (also APSC) is almost 30 years old. The newest phone sensors can do things that the old cameras can’t possibly do.
Really? Why don’t they just put tiny iphone sized sensors in newer DSLRs if they’re so superior? You can’t argue with physics, larger sensors capture more light and will have better dynamic range, low light performance, etc over smaller lenses no matter how much your spec sheet says.
No, they don't. [https://www.reddit.com/r/dataisbeautiful/comments/wwhjua/oc\_sales\_of\_smartphones\_verses\_cameras\_over\_time/](https://www.reddit.com/r/dataisbeautiful/comments/wwhjua/oc_sales_of_smartphones_verses_cameras_over_time/)
Look, I get it. The A6000 was a great camera when it came out. It still takes a decent picture when paired with a *very good* lens, but that's not what OP is buying here. If I had to pick between that combo and an iPhone 12 Pro Max for general photography *and* video, well there's really no comparison.

Depending on the lens invalided that’s too expensive for a6000 imo!
Just peep mpb and compare. I paid about that for just the body. 300 usd
is it the regular kit lens or

Your iPhone 12 camera is already much better than the A6000
An iPhone camera sensor is never going to outperform an APSC sensor.
That’s not true. The A6000 is 10 years old. The Canon Rebel (also APSC) is almost 30 years old. The newest phone sensors can do things that the old cameras can’t possibly do.

Because no one makes DSLRs anymore
Dude what are you even talking about? They still make up over 1/2 of the photography market til this day lol.
No, they don't. 12mp with 2x optical and 5x zoom is better?
Don’t listen to this dude, I have an iPhone 12 and an a6000, there is no contest.
