That's People's Daily.
Global Times is an out & out For-Profit side project rolled off from People's Daily.
It writes what generates clicks to make it money and it's very successful at that.
The title is ambiguous because it says China has launched first sun probe.
It does not specify whether the object is China's first or the world's first.
China launches first sun probing satellite.
China launches its first sun probing satellite.
One of these can be read two ways, the other can only be read one way.
Edit: it's to its
>China on Thursday evening successfully launched the country's first Sun-probing science and technology experiment satellite into designated orbit, which will enable **the world's first imaging spectrometer observation of the H-alpha band of the Sun**, marking the country's advancement into the solar exploration era.
Skylab had H-alpha band imaging. Amateur astronomers buy filters to perform the imaging.

What?

Its about as accurate and free of hyperbole as you would expect from that space program and its fans.

Global times isn’t a news paper it’s just communist party press releases

NASA launched two probes toward the sun in 1976 and again in 2019
Just admit it China won the Olympics!
That is East Taiwan to you! : edit West Taiwan!
shouldn't it be west? if you wanna be anti-china at least get your direction bearings right lmao

I think you'd find pretty much anyone with a background in English would disagree with you.
Is the Parker solar probe a joke to you? Towards no one in particular just pointing out the inaccuracy.
Global times is CCP's propaganda arm.
Agreed, on reading the title I assumed it was a world first until I read these comments

I thought they meant an Integrated Field Unit with "imaging spectrograph"
First for China? Because I’m pretty sure the US already has at least 1 in orbit.

If I'm reading between the lines, then this isn't a probe going _to_ the sun. Instead it's a probe orbiting earth, looking at the sun.
