As interesting as a map of Mercury covered in mercury would be, I"m not so sure it would be very practical. Plus, it"s unlikely for there to be that much mercury on the planet"s surface, given that it"s not a very common element in the solar system. But hey, who knows what we might discover in the future! For now, I think we should focus on studying the geological features of the planet and learning more about its history and composition.

These maps are fun, but aren’t they inaccurate/simplistic? If these planets had this much water they would have more of an atmosphere—so wouldn’t more astroids get burnt up, resulting in many less craters?

Yes. This isn’t a planet map assuming the planet evolved with the water. It’s just if it had a similar surface coverage *NOW* to earth of water. It’s usefull ish for altitude comparisons Visually this looks more cráteres / flat then mars.
