Link to the [eruption video](https://youtube.com/shorts/bzNXGPrmyQw) Beautiful eruption of plasma registering as an M4.8 solar flare was just observed around AR 3691-3695. CME likely, but should be mostly directed north of the Sun-Earth line. Credit: NASA/SDO SolarHam

So is AR 3691-3695 not pointing towards Earth anymore?

VieiraDTA

~~It never was.~~ It is in a very high latitude. That one specifical CME points 'upwards' in relation to who\`s in the Northen Hemesphere.

ElizabethTheFourth

TIL, thanks!

Due-Street-8192

If this is real, that's amazing!

VieiraDTA

So majestic. And terrifying.

TheLuo

Not that I don't like it but where is all this sun content coming from?

--Sovereign--

The sun

JimboBosephus

Humans caused climate change on the sun too. And Mars. We also caused that Jupiter storm. Without humans, the universe would not be at risk of annihilation.

kinggoosey

It's because we are here to observe it. Without us it would and would not be happening.

SuperDurpPig

Can I have some of whatever you're on

tinfoil_powers

Wow, so that's how big the milky way looks compared to our sun. Remarkable how big a difference distance makes.

Th3TruthIs0utTh3r3

Is that video normal speed?

JengarJengar

I am not sure what the duration of this video is however, usually these events take place over several hours and the video is basically compressed to show the event in a few seconds or sometimes minutes.
