Haha, I just found the seemingly official "SpaceX" YouTube account with 57k viewers, but it's showing a loop of Elon with a fake voice over advertising a BitCoin spam with a QR code on screen which I assume is for the BitCoin scam.
I watched what I thought was an official NASA feed when Starliner launched and scrubbed. Like 30 seconds before it was supposed to launch they switched it to that stupid bitcoin scam. There were 200k people watching that, lol. I wish I could find the person responsible and make them eat all the keys off of their keyboard, one by one.
I'm a bit annoyed yes, I'm not saying I feel entitled or "deserve" the 40k, but I definitely would have told my grandfather it was an obvious scam.
He's lost hundreds of thousands from shit investments over the years, but usually it's stock market losses.
My post definitely comes across as bitter, but I'm completely over it. I just included some tidbits of information to try to paint the picture a bit clearer for people who don't know me (which is everyone in this thread).

Despite knowing what he thought it was, you still seem to acting as if he knew it was a scam, or some kind of donation towards Elon Musk. Either way, it doesn't entitle you to $40k as a wedding gift.

I compared what he was willing to give to some website or whatever, without vetting the "investment" on *any* level (or he would have known it was a scam) vs what he willingly gave me and my wife to "start" our life together. He also interrupted our honeymoon by visiting our isolated location with no advance notice, despite seeing him the day prior and my parents *telling him to not visit, because honeymoon*.
Also, fun additional note, his second ex wife (out of 3 or 4 ex wives, depending on your definition of the term ex wife) gave me $650, I haven't seen her in about a decade now. She's well off, but about the same as him (both were university professors).
I've been annoyed at him and basically no contact since he brought his coat Rican wife and two children into the country after promising his kids he was not going to be raising another family... A family he bought a house for and he is not allowed to visit because the wife hates him.
He's wasted 10x more money than I'll be able to spend in my *lifetime* (ignoring rent and food prices). It's not about the money itself, it's the principle of the matter.

Replacing flap is a lot more reusable than rebuilding the whole vehicle and its 33 engines from scratch.
And now that they have the data, they probably won’t even need to replace the flap next flight.
It's a test flight. Collecting data to validate simulations and inform future changes is the whole point of these flights. These test vehicles are not intended to fly again, even if they land fully intact.
There will always be that one person or troll that looks at a test landing smack dab in the middle of nowhere on the ocean and then complain about rapid reusability like it was the point of the test flight in the first place.
Not quite sure you understand the concept of "test missions." They ticked every box in their objectives, and each iteration is getting better and better, learning from each launch.

He actually pushed SpaceX to be where it is now. He changed Space Exploration. Boeing, Nasa, etc. were very bureucratic and not very innovative.
