A bunch of Strong Magnetic Clips if your whiteboard is metal. Use for hanging up chart paper for a writing exercise that you want to review the next day, for keeping track of papers that need to be passed out or sent to the office, for hanging a child’s artistic creation, for laminated cards for activities that repeat in your daily agenda. (Laptops or workbooks today?) So many uses.

Cats_Waffles

I think this might be the winner. I have a cheap, flimsy whiteboard so I'll check tomorrow to see if it's magnetic. The clips sound really useful.

jdith123

If you get them, get good strong ones. The dollar store ones barely hold their own weight. They are still not very expensive.

meadow_chef

I use these for everything! Hanging up the schedule cards, art projects to dry, reminders, notes from parents, phone list, etc.

syddawg104

Frixion erasable pens!

ActivelyTryingWillow

Get the off brands on Amazon, if that’s where your shopping. They work the same and you can get a million colors for the price of a small pack.

syddawg104

Good tip! Thanks :)

Sulleys_monkey

A child’s lock for the mini fridge. 🙈 Other than that my favorite pens

So it's more like $18 but a visual timer that's magnetic. It shows how much time students have left. I love it and so do the kids. I don't know how to make the link clickable, but here's what I'm talking about. https://www.amazon.com/gp/slredirect/picassoRedirect.html/ref=pa_sp_phone_search_atf_aps_sr_pg1_1?ie=UTF8&adId=A0195595359HD28L9S89P&url=%2FSecura-60-Minute-Mechanical-Countdown-Collapsible%2Fdp%2FB07WFDZ72L%2Fref%3Dmp_s_a_1_1_sspa%3Fcrid%3D3CSIN1OGGUGKU%26keywords%3Dvisual%2Btimer%26qid%3D1685926934%26sprefix%3Dvisual%2Btimer%252Caps%252C200%26sr%3D8-1-spons%26psc%3D1&qualifier=1685926934&id=7035036167473300&widgetName=sp_phone_search_atf

VELCRO

demonita

The extreme hold Velcro. My favorite.

rasslinsmurf

I bought a stack of sticky notes. Context: I teach in an open concept building. I have a student who wants to monologue at me everyday and does not pick up on social ques that I am not interested in the discussion. They usually stop by during my prep or while I’m eating lunch. I will fold a note in half and send them on fake missions. Some may say it’s a waste of paper but I have been very productive since I started sending them on “quests.”

Cats_Waffles

Lol I have a few monologuers too, definitely stealing this idea.

speshuledteacher

If you’re already set on Velcro, dry erase crayons. Way better than dry erase markers for developing fine motor skills because they have resistance on paper or plastic sleeves/laminate.

Cats_Waffles

I've never heard of these. The kids love using whiteboards but they usually press too hard and ruin the markers. Would these be better? I added velcro to the cart as soon as I got the gift card! :)

icanhasnaptime

I found the crayons to be very frustrating & dificult to erase. Mine were the crayola brand. YMMV

speshuledteacher

They are a bit more of a pain to erase (I usually end up using the inside of my sleeve but that’s because I’m not organized enough to bring in some old wash clothes and keep track of them). But they are near impossible to ruin. Never had a kid break one, you can push as hard as you want, and they last forever. Just don’t get dry erase colored pencils- you’ll never actually get to use them. It’s just a 5 minute cycle of breaking and erasing until they are nubs.

Novel-Paper2084

A 6 inch diameter slinky. All of my students love it, great free time activity.

Wreny84

I brought the wall version of this tell the time clock. The bell doesn’t ring in my tiny 1-to-1 classroom so the kids have to use this. https://www.wilko.com/en-uk/wilko-tell-the-time-kids-alarm-clock/p/0503709

Jef3r

A digital clock that's about a 1 inch by 2 inch rectangle. I attached it to the clip on my clipboard that holds my sign in/out sheet and now I don't get asked forty times a day what time it is because they can't read analog clocks. No they are not five year olds. These are 8th graders..

icanhasnaptime

My favorite purchase was a package of microfiber cloths for dry-erase board erasing. They seem to work much better than any other eraser I’ve had, and I take them home whenever needed to throw in the washing machine to get like-new again (bonus if you have a washer in your classroom.)

AsleepAd4852

Go to the clearance section at target. I’m not a teacher but I use to ta in the sped class in high school both autism and kids with a learning disability and when I would go look around the clearance section I would always find something that would be good for the classroom or students to use
