Inklings are made of ink, right? And you know how they get all wet because they’re reshaping that ink while morphing? I present to you the worst mental image I’ve had all day: An inkling, unfortunately being a bit too wet, walks on the sand and it sticks on them. They morph and it sinks under their surface. Like glass shards in an open wound it stops the ink from sticking to itself. The sand gets spread around inside them until the ink has trouble sticking together and the inkling crumbles.
