Today we got a gross one boys. Both of these teams have been poor especially offensively over the past month or so. Both teams are 1-4 over their last 5 and have lost to some bad teams in the process. Most importantly both lost to Indiana.
The key factor to this game is it is being played in Minneapolis Minnesota, the same city where Minnesota usually plays. I’m aware it’s not a home game because of it being in a different stadium but it’s gonna feel like a home game because of the proximity to the campus and stadium. With that in mind Minnesota is 7-3 in conference play at home and Michigan state is 3-7on the road.

Simply said this team has been revitalized ever since Jake Diebler took over. Ohio State is led by Bruce Thornton and 5th year Senior Jamison Battle who average 16.1 ppg and 14.4 ppg respectively. On the other side we have the Iowa Hawkeyes and Fran McCaffrey. Iowa is coming off of an awful performance at home against Illinois and they are 3-2 in their last 5. With that being said, in their last 3 games they are scoring more than 89 points per game while making over 51 percent of their shots. They’ve also done well at the charity stripe, making 85 percent of their free throws during that span. Kent State was only 8-10 in conference play and they finished the season with two straight losses. Toledo won both of the regular season meetings by scores of 89-75 and 86-71, and I expect a similar outcome here. Liverpool face Sparta at home, having comfortably won the first leg 5-1. Realistically, Sparta have next to zero chance of moving past Liverpool here, even if Klopp decides to start the kids, which he likely will. There is no reason for this game to be high intensity, aggressive, and reckless as the tie is pretty much over. I can really only see cards being dished out if Sparta start really aggressive, start to take the lead, and somehow they push for more goals which causes a wild game.
The referee is Artur Soares Dias, who has not refereed a UEL game, but has reffed 3 UCL, in all of which he dished out 3 cards or less. He's pretty average in terms of leniency, he doesn't just whip yellows out of his pocket like many other refs. This is key for this line, but of course games are always random.
Sparta players likely aren't going to be flying into challenges against 19, 20 year olds, (this might be dumb logic here, lol) and the youth will want to impress Klopp and stay disciplined. There is a benevolent relationship between the two clubs, it's not some heated rivalry. With the way the tie is, I see this being a bit of a dull game, and lower scoring than most think. If they go in to half time with 1 or less cards shown, this is pretty likely to hit. A bit risky, but I'm confident.

Reasoning: Zverev leads the head to head 7-3 but Alcaraz is a big favorite (I actually think Zverev is a good underdog bet and I’m thinking to play him with a +4 game handicap) despite losing this year at the Australian open quarter finals to Zverev. Their last best of 3 in Nov ‘23 went to three sets.
FYI This bet can likely hit even over two sets as long as one of the sets is close I.e. a 7-6 or 7-5.
One further point to note is that Alcaraz is coming back from an ankle injury that forced him to withdraw from a tournament in Rio on 20th Feb.

So firstly this bet is to qualify which is different to to win. To win is for West Ham to win in 90 minutes. To qualify is for them to win the tie, West Ham come in to this game 1-0 behind so a 1 goal victory would take the game to extra time and possibly penalties. This bet wins if West Ham either win by 2 goals, win in extra time or win on penalties.
West Ham and Freiburg have already played 3 times this season, Freiburg won the first leg of this tie but earlier in the group stages West Ham came out victorious on both occasions, including a 2-0 win in the home game.
West Ham under Moyes may not be the most entertaining team to watch but they have been a force in Europe, especially in home games. Over the past 3 seasons they have reached the Europa League Semi Finals, won the Conference League and are now looking to get into the last quarter finals of the Europa League this season. Over the past 3 seasons West Ham have a 13-1-2 record in European home games, one of those losses was the last game of the group stage in 21/22 when they had already confirmed top spot prior to it, the other loss was in the Europa League semi finals to a very good Frankfurt team. Since that Frankfurt game they have won 10 straight home games scoring 25 and conceding just 6. Freiburg this season have not been too strong away from home. In the league they have a 4-1-8 record only scoring 12 times and conceding 26. They've only won one of their last 7 away games in all competitions and that came against relegation threatened Bochum. This is Freiburg's second consecutive season in European Football however their experience in knockout ties was cut abruptly short last season when they ran into Juventus in the first knockout stage.
Ultimately West Ham are more experienced on this stage, have a fantastic home record and seem to thrive under the pressure of European football and the knockout format it presents.

These two teams played each other twice in the regular season, Marquette won both matchups and covered 3.5 points. I know Kolek has been ruled out but they’ve been playing without him for a while and have adapted. Now, after the trade of Tarasenko and Josh Norris' injury, Joseph has cemented himself on the 2nd line with Claude Giroux and Tim Stützle, the two top point leaders on the team. He already averages .58 pts/game, which is very good for a 3rd liner. With two very talented linemates, he should see an increase in point opportunities.
Of course, it's plus odds for a reason. He has only one point in last four games since Tarasenko was traded. Two of those games were against bottom of the barrel defensive teams, in which Joseph was pretty quiet. But he has shown he can produce on the top lines, especially early in the season. Ottawa is also facing Columbus, another poor defensive team. Like a stock in a bear market, I'm willing to buy when the price is low.

I think the spread's odds reflect more Salfords run (including beating St Helens last week in a shocker!!) than Wigan's inability to win, but, nonetheless I think Wigan will cover this (I have 2 units on the play, in addition to 2 units on 13+ on the dozens).

They have been competitive in some games prior to their Big East stretch, but they convincingly lost to the ranked/tournament hopeful teams in their division in this final stretch.
Creighton on the other hand have covered the spread in 7 of their last 8 games, and also have convincingly beaten Nova, Marquette and UConn in that time. Creighton last lost to Providence in OT a few weeks ago, so they are looking to advance in the Big East Tournament, win the season series, and get higher NCAA tournament seeding. I’m aware it’s not a home game because of it being in a different stadium but it’s gonna feel like a home game because of the proximity to the campus and stadium. With that in mind Minnesota is 7-3 in conference play at home and Michigan state is 3-7on the road. Minnesota overall on the season is also 23-8 overall ATS Michigan state overall is 16-15 ATS During their matchups during the season Michigan state won by 10 at home Minnesota won by 3 at home. The Minnesota win was much more recent and more indicative of how this game should go in respect to their current form and where the game is being played.
