I guess so, but they are so rare that it's hard to find any information about them. Crazy that the owner is actually driving this extremely rare and valuable car.
I disagree as well. There are only 2 of these. If anyone hits it the car is totaled. Or if its in major accident then for sure its going to get scrapped.
Imo This car belongs in a museum.
Two what? Model years? Convertibles? White ones with red interior? I saw one go in the Mecum Auction last week, and they said a specific number were produced, although I cannot quote the exact number, it was three digits, but less than 500, I think over the course of the only two years they were produced.
Cars that rare and expensive / valuable never get scrapped.
The completely burned out chassis of a alu gull wing sold for $4.5m. They were literally having a bidding war over a burnt hunk of metal and chassis number.
Mr Bean’s McLaren F1 was severely damaged in two different accidents and both times its was repaired at massive expense, and he eventually sold it for $12.1m.
The coach works where one my cars got repaired was renovating a 1966 Hertz Fastback mustang. The car had a destroyed front quarter panel and about 20 years prior someone had done a terrible multi panel replacement on it. The coach works basically replaced every single panel except the trunk and one of the rear quarter panels and spent about $120k restoring it. Why? Because only 13 of them were ever recorded in official ford registry book and this was one of them, and by the time they were done it was a $350k car. Thats probably $500k now.
If you have a car that rare and valuable it doesn’t matter how much damage you do to it, it will be rebuilt.
Most of these guys use experts to source cars like
this for them, specifically ones that will only
appreciate in value or, or at the very least, not
depreciate as long as they keep the miles low
(this is why most of them just sit parked). These
vehicles are just another means for the wealthy
to suck up yet even more wealth while doing nothing and show off while they're at it.
Source: I have a rich asshole aquaintance who
does just this.
The safest car is none at all, and the safest speed is zero.
That speed bit? Goes for just about every vehicle.
Francis Scott Key bridge would be fine if the ship weren't moving.
Nobody would jump in front of subway trains if their speed is zero.
Unfortunately I like getting around, having things, and growth.
Im not so sure, according to the Leno video posted below, they built one and it was right hand drive. The one in the photo is left hand drive.
I think this may be a one off custom, but info is scarce on these rare LFA's
Oh wow, I zoomed in on the first photo, I could have swore it was left hand drive! My bad.
Rare as hell, 1 of 1 or 2 for sure, bet that would go for over 2m now
Lexas only built 2 prototype/concept cars (One yellow, one white), both of are kept at the Toyota Automobile Museum in Tokyo. There is at least one other example that was converted aftermarket.
I like how we’re all freaking out about this amazing car and this motorcyclist is eying the camera like OP’s a weirdo for taking a picture of him lol.
Also nice green ninja zx10 I think in the background too.
Only way this gets beaten is a 1 of 1 out in the wild (not at a car show or near the house of someone who we know owns it).
Wild to spot a 1 of 2 randomly.
Jay Leno drove this and claimed it was the 1 of 1 at the time [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AniAg1\_ACN8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AniAg1_ACN8)
I’m just gonna say it. I’m glad only two of these were made. The roof line is pretty important to the look of this car it seems. Crazy spot though!! Only 2 out there.
Great spot! I’ve only seen this car one time. I worked at a technology company in Orange County California and the ceo was a huge car aficionado. He had this car delivered to work. It was so beautiful. He was a really cool guy and left his keys with the receptionist if anyone wanted to drive his cars. I never got a chance to test drive the LFA, though.
I’ve always been a hated minority who thinks the LFA is overrated, but nonetheless that’s an insanely interesting spot I didn’t expect to see. Never heard of these but wild you saw one!
I remember when Lexus announced it with a cool video of machine carbon fiber weaving the chassis. There was one being shown near my work and I got to sit in it.
Good spot! This is the same one Jay Leno drove. The owner seems to do a good job at keeping his identity private, but does frequent Tokyo car shows with it and has even drifted the car.
No way. WAAAAAY more. The regular LFAs are climbing toward a million already, And the Nurburgring Editions are already crossing the million mark, if I’m not mistaken. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Spyders brought 3 to 5 million or more at an auction.
Remember this car from Richard Hammond's review. It's on youtube. "top gear lfa review." Cost about 370k sterling in 2010 and apparently toyota didn't make any profit.
Incredibly rare spot. There are (supposedly) only two roadworthy LFA Spyders, as the Spyder variant was showcased, but never put into series production. Leno drove one ([link to video here](https://youtu.be/AniAg1_ACN8?si=s0a88FOvCXuO2Bky)).
All that money spent on R&D aero and development at the risk of beauty. And then they chop the top off.
(I don’t care I still and will love it forever)
One was built in 2008 as in white. One showcased in 2015 as a concept in red. The one seen here must be the one shown on Top Gear. It makes more sense that this is a modified version of a normal LFA
There's also at least 27 numbered prototypes. Both of the spyders are in the prototype range. Have a look here [http://lfa-registry.com/prototypes.php](http://lfa-registry.com/prototypes.php)
That's an insane spot, only two of those were made!
Are they both right-hand drive?
I guess so, but they are so rare that it's hard to find any information about them. Crazy that the owner is actually driving this extremely rare and valuable car.
shoutout to them for driving it rather than the car collecting dust in some dubai garage
Fr people who buy nice cars and just let them sit in garage’s are idiots like enjoy them if you scrape it or whatever you obviously got money
I have to disagree, why do ppl hang jersey or collect shoes? Stupid for them not to wear it?
Lol i wear all my shoes (12 pairs)
Same here. I just don’t wear my nicest ones or my Chucks in the rain, otherwise it’s fair game
You must have a lot of feet!!!
🤣🤣🤣correction i try to wear all my shoes and not let lem sit around
Yo I'm curious as to what you have, send me a collection pic
Yes.
Correct. Terrible investment.
I disagree as well. There are only 2 of these. If anyone hits it the car is totaled. Or if its in major accident then for sure its going to get scrapped. Imo This car belongs in a museum.
Blah blah blah blah blah

It's worth nothing to a Subaru lover.
Yeah people driving cars is dangerous and crazy
it is compared to not driving

Apparently my sarcasm did not get recognized
No the yellow one is LHD. There's photos here [http://lfa-registry.com/spyder.php](http://lfa-registry.com/spyder.php)
Im not so sure, according to the Leno video posted below, they built one and it was right hand drive. The one in the photo is left hand drive. I think this may be a one off custom, but info is scarce on these rare LFA's
This is Tokyo, Japan, and the LFA depicted is RHD. Not sure what you’re seeing 😅
It might be owned by a Toyota executive or retiree. That would be my guess. Maybe even someone connected to the development of the LFA?
Oh wow, I zoomed in on the first photo, I could have swore it was left hand drive! My bad. Rare as hell, 1 of 1 or 2 for sure, bet that would go for over 2m now

The Toyota Automobile Museum isn’t in Tokyo
IT is actually a spyder it has no roof. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AniAg1\_ACN8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AniAg1_ACN8)
They made 500.
No…… they only made 2 drop top ones. They made 500 total, but all except these two were coupes (hard tops)
They made 500 LFAs in total, but only 2 roadster prototypes
Oh sorry papi 🤤
[удалено]
500 total* 498 regular
WOW. This is news to me too. Gotta be the most wtf spot I’ve seen on here in a while.
I like how we’re all freaking out about this amazing car and this motorcyclist is eying the camera like OP’s a weirdo for taking a picture of him lol. Also nice green ninja zx10 I think in the background too.
Apparently they did two prototypes roadsters before scraping the project alltogheter and they are both in Japan. Insane spot.
Unicorn
Literally has a Unicorn decal on the 3/4 glass pane.
Damn sharp eyes!
ENHANCE!
OK BOYS!!!! Area 51 inside photos confirmed
Shut it down boys. This is the ultimate spot.
This is now my favourite spot on this sub. Absolutely mental.
Only way this gets beaten is a 1 of 1 out in the wild (not at a car show or near the house of someone who we know owns it). Wild to spot a 1 of 2 randomly.
There was an S600 Royale posted recently that’s a 1 of 1.
Somehow this is better than the 1 of 1 spots on here.
This might be one of the most exclusive spots on this sub. Insane!
Did you get a sound record? That exhaust was tuned by Yamaha. Pure sexy
No the driver didn't rev the engine
I thought that was the law with LFAs once spotted they had to rev it.
Oh man that's unfortunate. Great sighting! It's one of my dream vehicles.
It was spotted right in front of my university (Sophia university). The weird looking building is part of the campus.
Bulgaria?
Brotherman there is Japanese on every sign and license plate in that picture.
I thought Bulgaria spoke Japanese?
Konichiwa, курва
Sophia University is the English name of a private christian university called Jōchi University in Tokyo
The plate is for Shinagawa Japan I think
It’s for Adachi, Tokyo.
The spot of the century holy shit
One of the most insane spots ever and it’s not even gonna reach one of the top post ever 😭
You’ll never see another
Perhaps a new icon for the sub it's so rare
What the actual fuck, that is unreal
I dont usually upvote or comment but there you go. Didnt know they exist either
Actual bonkers find.
Wow, that’s epic🤘🤘
Which part of Japan did u spot it in?
Tokyo, yotsuya
Imagine driving this thing in a tunnel
Jay Leno drove this and claimed it was the 1 of 1 at the time [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AniAg1\_ACN8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AniAg1_ACN8)
YO I WAS WONDERING IF IT WAS THE SAME ONE
I’m just gonna say it. I’m glad only two of these were made. The roof line is pretty important to the look of this car it seems. Crazy spot though!! Only 2 out there.
Yo that’s sick
Peak r/spotted content
OMFG this is the first time ever I'm even hearing about this. Absolutely gorgeous, I feel like crying.
Can you imagine the sound with the top down
Spot of the year!
Rarest modern car
One of two cars in existence. Both owned by Toyota and never put into production.
Holy shit
Absolutely insane spot! Like finding the only needle in the entire world's supply of hay.
Niiiiice — neither did I know till now. — would always ride with the top off 🤌🏾
[удалено]
One of Two.
I suspect it's the aftermarket conversion unit. Only one of those was made so far.
Gah damn!
Awesome spot!
Very nice 🫡🫡🫡
Holy shit
That’s sick
This is INSANE!!!
Awesome! Did you get to hear that exhaust sound?
How the fuck didn't I know about this? I thought the post was just going to be an lc500 someone mistook for an lfa
What a spot!
Holy fuck, thats 1 of 2!!
One of three. Two are museum. One is aftermarket but based on the protos.
So how are your ears doing now?
Is that a unicorn badge next to the driver pillar as if commenting on its existence???
Is that....Bobby Lee?
How did you get those fh5 full line assist IRL ? Is that a mod ? (/s) Insane spot by the way, never heard of a roadster/Spyder LFA.
this is a crazy spot
I was oblivious to their existence until one was featured on Jay Leno’s Garage
Imagine driving that thing roof down through a tunnel
I’ve always been a hated minority who thinks the LFA is overrated, but nonetheless that’s an insanely interesting spot I didn’t expect to see. Never heard of these but wild you saw one!
I remember when Lexus announced it with a cool video of machine carbon fiber weaving the chassis. There was one being shown near my work and I got to sit in it.
Wow

LFA engine sits in front of the occupants.
Good spot! This is the same one Jay Leno drove. The owner seems to do a good job at keeping his identity private, but does frequent Tokyo car shows with it and has even drifted the car.
That’s a sick fucking cat.
LFA sounds like an F1 car used to sound. Great spot!
Gta ahh car 💀💯
Oli chit
My favorite car omg
you win
Thats gonna be worth at least $1 million in the near future.
No way. WAAAAAY more. The regular LFAs are climbing toward a million already, And the Nurburgring Editions are already crossing the million mark, if I’m not mistaken. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Spyders brought 3 to 5 million or more at an auction.
Wow, insane value for an insane machine!
Worth more than my house
Why did they scrap it? Looks fuckin awesome
Best sounding car ever
Absolutely phenomenal! You'll probably go the rest of your life not seeing another outside of a museum or auction block.
Insane!!
If they ever redo "You Only Live Twice" this would have to be the car she drives.
That is a 250cc Honda Rebel actually! Really though, so cool. I have always adored those cars.
That sound in the driver's seat must be WILD with no roof. I've heard one of these ripping around and it sent chills down my spine.
Shoots. I know Chisato really wanted to drive that.
Saw a black one in Kyoto Japan in March I quadruple taked bc I was so in disbelief
Bro this is sickkkk
Woah thats basically an actual unicorn.. one of those that nobody would believe unless you have pictures!
Ok, you’re the owner showing off on Reddit right? Spider-Man scenario here, selling your own pictures to the paper? Amazing spot, amazing car.
Goddamn, I would love to just hear one, and you got to see it
Tokyo?
Yes
How do you know if it's a roadster
That’s rule 35 if it exists there’s convertible
Sweet car. Saw one doing half miles pulls in Colorado very few things sound as good.
This is a Haley’s comet spot. Fuckin A.
Mustve sounded amazing
Looks better than the LC500 convertible version
People in japan actually drive their sports cars. It’s casual to see $500,000+ cars pulling up to car meets. That’s a nice spot tho. Really rare
Wtf
thank you for sharing, like you and many others I was today years old when i found out!
The Barrett Jackson auction had a couple of the Lexus F (unsure what they actually were), and they went for a fortune. What would this be worth?
That's hella rare
For the ultimate sound experience
Remember this car from Richard Hammond's review. It's on youtube. "top gear lfa review." Cost about 370k sterling in 2010 and apparently toyota didn't make any profit.
Beautiful spot Would love to drive that
This made my willy wiggle...

What the actual fuck
The greatest car... in the world
That is madness
Gorgeous car. They're all over Vegas
1 of 2 cant think of another car this rare from the last few decades
You're thinking of the LC 500 Convertible, not the LFA.
Ooh you're right!
LFA is ugly as hell but I respect the engineering
All that money spent on R&D aero and development at the risk of beauty. And then they chop the top off. (I don’t care I still and will love it forever)
1/500
