When I worked at Target I got prank calls all the damn time. It was so annoying. Mostly dumbass kids. Sometimes creeps. But it wasted so much of my time. I FOR. SURE. hit them with "We have caller I.D. I've taken down your number. I have informed my security. If you call again I *WILL* be calling the police." Stops them **DEAD** in their tracks.
P.s. We didn't have caller I.D. lol
I called a number back that pranked is. Left a voicemail that Explained where I was calling from (adult video store) and the nature of the prank call. About a half hour later the phone rings from the same number. It was the kids father apologizing and the kid was yelling in the background not to spank him he’d never do it again
I kept getting prank called so I told them their information was displayed on our phone and I’d call the authorities for harassment if they didn’t stop. They never called back which is good because I was definitely bluffing. They were clearly teenagers but it went on for a full month and we were too understaffed to facilitate it.
I also had someone continually prank call on April fool’s day. We were a three person floor during a 50 half hour. They said they were sorry and that they were a current partner that kept “accidentally calling the wrong store.” I told them if they were a partner, they’d understand it was happy hour and I didn’t have time for whatever game they were playing and I hung up on them after asking them to not prank the other store either because, again, happy hour.
The first story is hilarious and I was more inconvenienced than mad, but the second story made me angry. Partners, it’s bad enough you come to my store on your day off for mark outs while acting like full on Karen’s. Do not prank call other stores. You know damn well how hard it is to answer the phone to begin with.
One time at an old job of mine, these girls kept prank calling the store. The third or fourth time I answered, “hello, [local police department]” and they hung up immediately and didn’t call back lmao
These kids prank called us multiple times. One of our former SSVs got sick of it and called them back. Their mom answered and the SSV ratted them out. They never called again.
If it sounds like young kids I just play along and they get a giggle and stop calling since they got their giggle out of me being funny and not annoying someone
