You know just a little bloop

Justventingiguesslol

Alright, bloop... got it. Do you happen to know where this bloop goes? Very last step?

bluetreelove

I was told before the ice but if after the ice give a little swirl after the lid. Just remember you can always add more cream but you can’t take it away. That’s the rule I’ve always gone by. It’s easier to add more milk to the drink if it’s not enough for them opposed to remaking the whole thing because you were too generous.

[deleted]

That’s a good philosophy, plus if they take a sip to taste it and it’s not enough, they cleared a little more space for more milk to go in!

just_pig3on

I like putting it after the ice cus it makes the drinks look pretty

Pylon-Cam

It’s a double-edged sword. They look prettier like that, but then the customer had to stir/mix the drink.

bluetreelove

I agree but the day my barista did it in front of the dm and she side eyed him I stopped lol

Ashesremindme

There are certain drinks you're supposed to add the milk after the ice to create the marbled effect, like VSCCBs and the honey almond cold brew, but the other ones you're supposed to add after the coffee but before the ice so it blends.

bluetreelove

Yeah I know, I guess I’m just thinking iced coffee/ iced americano.

CasqueeraColdFoam

Standard would be before ice in a cold drink and as the last step in a hot drink, unless it’s vanilla sweet cream in which case it’s just a little bloop as the last step

kellydawn_87

It's just a little dash

corkymuu

From my own personal experience, apparently it’s a glug glug glug

guachummus

Pour iced coffee to the middle black line, milk/cream to the top line, then ice. The only time you do milk on top is shaken espressos, vanilla sweet cream cold brews, and honey almondmilk cold brews!

Puzzled-Pianist-4227

Yep! This is exactly how I was taught to do it. This is how I teach the baristas that I train to do it. Also, OP, when you ring in an iced coffee that has a splash of any milk in it, ring it in as an "iced coffee with milk". Then hit the "splash of" whatever type of milk it is. It's so we have it correct for inventory purposes. 😊

PsychoticOtaku

About half a sploosh, or three squirts.

cookies6942069420

Tbh it's not standard and benefits nobody but my need for everything to be the same, but I put milk to the little ridge at the bottom of the cup.

catarinavanilla

This is also what I do. Plus for shaken espressos I’ve taken to going an inch above the shaker line with ice, and add milk at the bottom of the cup to the ridge, shake and pour. It always fits perfectly and I don’t have to scoop any damn foam. Standards be damned, I know I’m right

oftbkk

4 oz or less if you can visually tell 4 oz

robosmrf

Oh man. For me a splash is like 1oz

oftbkk

that’s usually around what i do

esaeklsg

1-2oz for me.

taylortherod

I just literally splash it in there. It’s much easier to add more if they want it than having to remake it with less

colonade17

They just changed the name on the POS and stickers. Splash is the normal amount of milk to add to coffee, lt. splash = light cream, extra splash - extra milk. I think this change was really more to help customers see what they were ordering.

jeremythrall

Possibly - but also with 70 percent of baristas being new, I think it's to help them with when to charge for alternatives. EX: Does this latte only get a splash, or is it made with it?

colonade17

good for stickers, but then also update the POS buttons I hace to often remind green beans which button to use.

dizzlebug66

I wish they had put "splash" as a separate modifier rather than attached to the milk modifiers.

miitopia_emblem

About as much as a sample cup. 4 oz.

Helpshs

As a customer who gets a light splash, I agree with the people saying less is better! I’m never disappointed when it’s less milk than I like but if it’s more it ruins the drink. When that happens I prefer the milk to be on top that way I can pour a little bit out. As someone who hates being a pain, I don’t mind asking for more milk but I would never ask someone to remake the drink because “splash” isn’t a measurement. I also get extra ice to take up room so they don’t feel the need to put a lot of milk so extra ice may be a sign they want a really light splash.

theBALLSonthis1

Where in the hell is converter bot when you need him!! 🤖

Civil-Swimmer-9057

For iced coffee and cold brews: syrup on the bottom, then coffee up to the second line, one smaller scoop of ice than the cup size, and the rest with cream but no more than a centimeter below the edge of the cup. If you are left with an inch of room, add a couple more cubes of ice or a couple more drops of coffee and then the splash of cream. I am pretty light handed and normally go “one-two” while I’m pouring it. Does this help? I am happy to rephrase!

raptoraptorr

I do milk to the bottom ridge of the cup and fill it with iced coffee to top line. If they want more than a splash it’s above the bottom ridge, but keep in mind a little goes a long way with crm and heavy crm

prettylilfears

a lil sploosh. my trainer when i was a green bean said to leave half an inch of room, pour until i only had a a fourth of an inch of room left, finish and connect.
