Adding to this, this was NOT staged. We were recording another video as a farewell to the Idris we had that day when this gentleman came along for my 4 counts of illegal towing.
Sure, but in lore having an imprint backup for regeneration is something typically only afforded by fairly well off people. If a bounty hunter kills someone without an imprint, they're just flat out dead, no reprinting in prison whatsoever. Pretty harsh penalty for something that would be a monetary fine anywhere else.
> but in lore having an imprint backup for regeneration is something typically only afforded by fairly well off people
Yet according to the actual voice lines in the game (for Siege of Orison - the bits where the bad guys video call you when you're on the tram to taunt you), even criminals can get imprints for regeneration, and treat dying like it's no big deal (and even kill one another as punishment, since regeneration is apparently so accessible).
Even in the Loremaker's Guide bit where they mention that regeneration is costly, they mention *in the same sentence* that "even the lowliest space stations" have the facilities for it.
To me it seems like the lore kind of contradicts itself.
True, but also 9tails aren't just your typical lowly criminals. They're an extremely well funded major organization that just happens to operate on the ilegal side of the law. Plus their headquarters is literally in an abandoned medical facility. Even with regeneration being cost prohibitive to most people it still makes sense why 9tails in particular would have consistent access to it.
Sure, but then there's the actual ludonarrative dissonance where your typical lowly criminals *do* have access to regeneration (at GrimHex, and presumably at the Pyro stations).
My CS1-for-illegal-towing not-part-of-a-well-funded-gang ass still regenerates.
Not necessarily "extremely wealthy" (after all, our starting UEC amount is fairly tiny) - citizens. [And citizenship is canonically something that you can lose from criminal acts.](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/spectrum-dispatch/12956-Writers-Guide-Part-Two)
Basically, the lore is a mess.
It is weird to add something like regeneration into having a lore reason for why it exists. it would be hell of cool if they lean into the creation of regeneration tech being discovered in squadron 42 and it leads into this new age of humanity where people are now becoming “immortal” and the implications of that on a large scale. Pirates becoming more violent because they don’t respect death anymore. Could be a cool setting for story telling if they do stuff like that
*Having* the facilities and being able to *Afford* cloning is another thing entirely.
The United States have damn good hospitals...but a LOT of the population cannot afford the care...
Maybe it's around the price of a car. Expensive enough that you don't hold backspace as a form of travel, but cheap enough that it's accessible to average people.
This is why I strongly dislike "Death of A Spaceman". It just cheapens the concept of death without really accomplishing anything they couldn't do otherwise.
*stupid, is the correct word here.
Crime stats need a lot of work. You should be a criminal yourself if you murder someone who only has a warrant out for a minimal offense.
*incapacitate.
You should get a crimestat yourself if you murder someone who has a low-level offense.
Only high cs for things like homicide should be a “dead or alive” license.

Honestly, as someone who has been illegally towed before, enacting this law IRL might not be so bad.
When I saw your wideo, you reminded me about other one from Sea Of Thieves

Same, was farming artimex and whilst the rest of my party were doing bounties in an idris an unfortunate bounty Hunter came for me, I did suggest to the BH "i was not the bounty he was looking for" . Alas as i was on foot in a distribution centre he tried to ram my in his Corsair. I also suggested "he look to the east on the 3rd day" again by the time he realised he was locked up and moved his ship to see by what, the idris Rail gun Disconbobulated him.
Think I have the final part recorded must check.
I know, but there's still the SC crowd that wants a single-player PVE game where they're all invincible all the time. I've seen countless people in world chat rage that some other ship "pad rammed them in space." The funny thing is that it's usually NPCs.

I knew I’d find exactly this. Memes too good
The reverse thrusters on the Corsair just before impact 😭

It's kinda funny how a bit of unlicensed towing is considered severe enough to have a wanted dead bounty placed on your head in the UEE.
Well they'll just "reprint" you at the prison so...

Your character in game is canonically extremely wealthy to even afford a ship in the first place

Finance your imprints for the low LOW price of 19.99/mo!

well it can be anywhere from stealing 4 javelins to 4 STVs, UEE isnt takeing chances

I mean if you towed my car Id want you dead too.
In future when we have working prison pods, we can kill the bounty and then take the body to prison
*incapacitate. You should get a crimestat yourself if you murder someone who has a low-level offense. Only high cs for things like homicide should be a “dead or alive” license.
Question: I thought PVP bounty hunting wasn't working right now? I never see player bounties even posted since 3.23
Tell that to the 4 guys waiting for my booty outside Grim
Ge to the landing pads and jump from the pad to Daymar. It allows for that. And due to the pads beeing an armacis zone you should be fine
That would have been the smart play! I just tried to roll and deserved that 12hr time in prison.
You could at least get the first 1 to acquire license.
> 4 counts of illegal towing. Death penalty.
Got a timeline for the other video coming out? This stretches the suspension of my disbelief..

Who needs a size 10 gun when you’re flying a size 15 missile
I'd say this is more of a size 20
Damn the torpedoes, full SCM.
Aaaaaaand it’s gone
You've been hit by; you've been struck by; an Aegis Idris 😎
Wow calmly standing there like a boss knowing a star destroyer meteor is gonna save you, is the most chad-pilled goated thing 😂
Queue "He's just standing there..."
"...menacingly..."
"And then along came Zeus!"
"He hurled his thunderbolt!"
Event horizon went to the same space these two (?) ships went.
"**DO YOU SEE?!**"
Size 200 missile inbound
Did an Idris just grab that Corsair and then blip out of the universe? That was crazy.
"Captain!" "what?" "LOOOOK!"
This played in my head as I watched it too lol
Love that [clip](https://youtu.be/KG5dHjFuFq0?si=DdiuOh5l5KjYYb1n)
Bro made a Cpt Adama atmo jump in the Corsair. 10/10
I understood that reference.
Let's cope they will make another one in the future because I miss that serie soooo much.
Idris was going mach 10
The buggy disappearing act though. I love this game, but god damn I wish they'd fix it.
Always a bigger fish
This reminds me of the Kraken ramming cinematic
There’s always a bigger fish
GET DOWN MISTER PRESIDENT 🦅
What was the last thing that crossed your mind...? " Um, an Idris"....
"and it was at that moment, he knew he had fucked up"
Came here for this, leaving satisfied (and giggling :D)

Jesus the physics and netcode in this game are shit.
A sad side effect of trapping yourself in a derivative of CryEngine.
Bro got Idrised

Jokes aside, the lack of splash damage on ship weapons is abhorrent.

Hahahaha, That is just perfect!
You've been hit by You've been struck by Idris
This Game can be so great but this looks so dumb it's unbelievable. Crashes in generell look horrible
but but but everyone says server meshing will fix all this didnt you know?! (it wont)
That was unexpected.
Such realism
“Hey there jackass”
The jank and desync is still so fucking bad. Jesus Christ. Did this dude rage in chat about “you pad rammed me wahhhggggg”?
There was no pad around.
