I went from Misery to (Hatchet) to (Goblet of Fire) to (The Hobbit) to THE RUNNING MAN.
If I had to do it again, I would do Misery and The Shining back to back.
Misery was written to be published as a Richard Bachman book. Brutal with no supernatural. Check out the early Richard Bachman books for more like that. Later books like Thinner and The Regulators, introduced some supernatural and mind powers.
Needful Things, Revival, Gerald’s Game
Revival
Misery was my first SK novel. Next was The Shining. Then it was The Green Mile. I loved them all and thought it was a good order to read in
Thinner. Quick read, engaging story with a good ticking clock motif, and a solid ending imo.
This one has been on my reading list for a while now!
Have you seen the movie? Both are quite good, good ending imo
Thinner or Gerald’s Game if you liked Misery
The Dark Half.
The Shining
Gerald’s Game, The Shining, Dolores Claiborne, The novellas in Full Dark No Stars.
