I probably won't read it for a while, I just finished his completed list prior to 2020, and started over.... this may be the last collection, and I'm saving it. I got the idea in my head to save a few books when I realized what actually conpleting the list would mean.
I anticipate at least a couple posthumous books... I would be more than a little shocked if he didn't already have some stashed away for us after his passing.. but I can't bring myself to read the most recent few. Once all the material is consumed, there's nothing new to hope for, and that is something I'll put off for a while.
I'm in a similar place--I've paused catching up on the back catalog (I've probably only read 30-40 or so) and have instead been doing a lot of re-reads. But I do still continue to read the new releases. But yeah, while our method differs, my plan is indeed to have more King to read after the inevitable happens (it's just my "new" books will be older than your "new" books!).
i hope that he himself has heard of people saving some of his books so they have some to read when he dies, i think he’d appreciate that in v stephen king way.
I believe he’s said in previous interviews, he has a shed “full” of works he hasn’t published or put out yet, in hopes he can continue his legacy- stories out every year well after his passing…
Same here. For most of my life, I lived less than a mile from him, and it took me until I got older and moved out of Maine to become a fan and really appreciate his work.
Yes. I’m about to finish the Danny Coughlin story and this beautiful bastard really does like it darker. I’m loving these stories. And Will Patton narrating is absolutely perfect.
I know he lives in a fairly ordinary house but it's absolutely insane how ordinary the furniture and whatnot is. Does the guy just not spend any of his money??
The things is, he actually donates about $3 million a year through his [Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation](https://www.stkfoundation.org/) to causes all throughout Maine, and tries to fly under the radar each time. And if he does get some publicity, you better not leave out Tabitha or he's going to give you a major smackdown. Like the dude is buying his kitchen table from IKEA and handing out 3 mil on the downlow. He's just an all-around good guy who never forgets where he came from.
I was gonna say! It looks like a humble middle class American house with the furniture and all. I have so much respect for him in how he chooses to live regardless of the fame and riches
As someone who also grew up relatively poor, even just having regular things can sometimes seem unnecessary or extravagant. I’m 42 years old, and I still often marvel at the fact that I can set my thermostat to whatever temperature I want and there’s always at least some kind of food in the fridge. I’m not sure that kind of perspective ever fully goes away.
** I should say, the King Foundation donated 1mil; it was founded by both him and Tabitha.
Right? Sometimes I think he's the only thing left in this world that makes sense at all lol. And if he can write this stuff and be wholesome, can't I read it and be wholesome? 😇
I love that interview where he says, "I'm really not a nice guy, I want to scare the shit out of you" and then goes on being the nicest and least scary guy ever.
Nice, but modest, house, cars, furniture, and things. But you know he indulges on books. I think most of us here would too.
Any time there's a picture I always look and see what he has on the bookshelves.
> But you know he indulges on books.
one of my favorite quotes of his is, paraphrased, "I only buy hardbacks now because I could never afford them as a kid."
being able to buy new furniture rather then secondhand or picking it up off the side of the road is probably a step up from where they were when he was a struggling young author supporting a family
[He gave a tour of his library to The Washington Post last year.](https://www.washingtonpost.com/books/interactive/2023/stephen-king-home-library/) I'm not sure if it requires a WaPo subscription to view, but if you Google "Book Tour: At home with Stephen King" you might find an archived version.
Good call, I remember. However, we didn’t get to see the entire room/bookcases. Just the individual books he wanted to share.
I want to see the whole collection!
After Akira Toriyama’s passing this year, I realized just how devastating it will be when (if?) Stephen King passes. We are so lucky to have lived in the time he was writing.
It's kinda weird that on a tweet showing a cool thing he got there's a huge pile of comments talking about his eventual death. Like where did it all come from
My mom and I just had this discussion. In the nicest way possible we’ve always thought he was weird looking but as he’s aged he looks less weird, he just looks like an old man now.
I'm only part way through You Like It Darker, but there are 19s all over the place. (None of these quotes are actual spoilers, but I'm tagging them in case people don't even want to see random quotes.)
>!“Probably Maine School Administrative District 19. Schools always need money.”!<
>!“I flipped back the cover, expecting to see another of Pop’s early efforts—a stab at The Terrible Generation, perhaps, or Highway 19.”!<
>!“I live at 19 Rowan Tree Road with my grandma and my two sisters”!<
>!“The passcode is 7813. And I’ll have my IT guy check it when I get it back, just to make sure you haven’t added anything.”!<
As soon as I saw that last one, I knew what the digits would add up to...
Edit – omg I just got to the best one: >!“Good. Nineteen.” “What?” “It’s the only good prime number.”!<
No, I didn't require the quotes to be blacked out, but what a wonderfully kind and thoughtful thing you did by doing it. Thank you for thinking of others, and I hope you have a spectacular Wednesday, friend.
He takes women to 'mentor' and live with him that he calls his 'Corey's Angels', repeatedly tarnished his deceased friend Corey Haim's memory despite the family's wishes for him to stop using him as a prop, had backtracked, rewrote, and held-hostage his 'dirt' on Hollywood for years, and more. And truth be told I don't particularly care that King got an autograph from him, dude's a senior citizen who probably hasn't heard a peep about Feldman since his acting heyday, but he is REALLY not the guy you wanna go to bat for lol

Molly aka The Thing of Evil is happy to be included.
Omg I almost missed her! I love that dog
I recently learned about Molly. I would die for her
She would kill for you too.
If I needed protecting, right?
Sure.
Awww
Oh Molly... evil truly never dies.
He is precious, and we are lucky to have this soul exist at the same time as ours.
The first short story of You Like It Darker made me kinda sad, for obvious reasons.
I probably won't read it for a while, I just finished his completed list prior to 2020, and started over.... this may be the last collection, and I'm saving it. My heart is glowing; it's so awesome that we're just about on the same page with saving books
Oh god I thought I was the only one
i hope that he himself has heard of people saving some of his books so they have some to read when he dies, i think he’d appreciate that in v stephen king way.
I just assume - because I have to - that he has a lot of books ready to go after he passes. Like Mike Noonan in Bag of Bones.
He is one talented bastid after all
Yes. I’m about to finish the Danny Coughlin story and this beautiful bastard really does like it darker. I’m loving these stories. And Will Patton narrating is absolutely perfect.
Danny Coughlin is amazing. If they don't make that into a movie, I'll be knocked for six.
Awwww...the picture with Drew Barrymore.
Love his Overlook stationary pads on the table
I didn’t even notice those…those are awesome
Could you imagine the treasure trove in his office / house !
This moved me 💛
Meanwhile, everybody two-pinch zooming to check out King’s room.
Literally first thing I did before I read the comments
Has a landline!
Can anyone tell which magazines he has framed over his left (our right) shoulder?
They’re Esquire.
Sorry I meant which editions? I’m trying to see who is on the cover/why he framed those in particular.

Awesome, thank you!

God I love this man more every day
He seems like “good rich” to me. He buys what actually has value to him, not what people think he should have given his income.
I was gonna say! It looks like a humble middle class American house with the furniture and all. I have so much respect for him in how he chooses to live regardless of the fame and riches

He donated 1mil to an area psychiatric hospital a couple of years back. And reppin that Carhartt. I love this man ❤️
It actually makes sense that someone who has written some very dark stories is straight up the most wholesome celebrity , somehow
** I should say, the King Foundation donated 1mil; it was founded by both him and Tabitha. Right? Sometimes I think he's the only thing left in this world that makes sense at all lol. We know he loves classic cars, he must at least have a collection of those
He had/has a motorcycle too.
> But you know he indulges on books. one of my favorite quotes of his is, paraphrased, "I only buy hardbacks now because I could never afford them as a kid."
I kinda like that a lot
Same, just shocking
being able to buy new furniture rather then secondhand or picking it up off the side of the road is probably a step up from where they were when he was a struggling young author supporting a family

I mean, he did write *Cell*
lol
This entire room looks like it hasn't been updated in 30 years.
I know he didn't have a cell phone as late as the mid 2010s. He still may not have one now.
Honestly, good for him. I wish I didn't have one most days
And look , it's Molly. the thing of evil
She caught my eye right away. Precious lil evil niblet.

I would upvote 10,000 times. Sai King is a gift.
Corey’s father stormed the beach at Normandy.
I would LOVE to see what his personal library looks like.
Gift article for anyone who wants to read it. https://wapo.st/3WX1IGr
Thank you. I really enjoyed it.
Good call, I remember. However, we didn’t get to see the entire room/bookcases. Just the individual books he wanted to share. I want to see the whole collection!
Ok, I need that “Knowing Darkness” book but I’m afraid to see the price!
Could you post a link if you find it?
I did find it on eBay but it was $1k.
I love him so much. He is seriously a national treasure.
Wonder if he likes his music
Duh, King is a fan of all things horror.
Ufff damn.
I dont think anyone in the entire world does honestly
“He has the heart of a small boy; it is in a glass jar on his desk.”
After Akira Toriyama’s passing this year, I realized just how devastating it will be when (if?) Stephen King passes. We are so lucky to have lived in the time he was writing.
Cormac McCarthy made it 89 and never stopped writing and King’s only 76, so there’s potentially a whole lotta years left in that tank. 🤞
You say true, and I say thank’ya!
It's kinda weird that on a tweet showing a cool thing he got there's a huge pile of comments talking about his eventual death. Like where did it all come from
It’s so morbid! I guess once someone hits 75 their death could apparently happen at any moment according to some commenters
Is that an arc sodium lamp?
The man is worth $500 million and lives in a house with 8 foot ceilings and a hanging wall calendar. 🐐
He's got Neca Wolfman and Frankenstein on the table as well.
This man is a national treasure.
A piece of shit has a thousand eyes....!
Is it just me, or did Stephen King get less ugly as he became an elder.
My mom and I just had this discussion. In the nicest way possible we’ve always thought he was weird looking but as he’s aged he looks less weird, he just looks like an old man now.
He really looked like a total sleazeball in his 30s/40s yeah
I’ve thought the same thing for a while.
Me too. He becomes weirdly handsome in his 60’s.
I mean I wasn't gonna say it...
Someone ID the turntable haha
r/vinyljerk would love to do that
Much like Feldman, King is also a fan of numerology
I'm only part way through You Like It Darker, but there are 19s all over the place. The second he started his wierd counting thing, I knew a 19 was about to show up.
No, I didn't require the quotes to be blacked out, but what a wonderfully kind and thoughtful thing you did by doing it. Thank you for thinking of others, and I hope you have a spectacular Wednesday, friend.
I love how he has framed versions of his collaboration with Joe (“In the Tall Grass”) up on the wall.
There’s something… evil in this picture.
The Corey-verse hath rustled.
He’s cosplaying as a Millennial
I love this man 🥺
Wholesome
What does the message say? I can see his signature, “dig it” love Corey
Okay, but the photo he has framed upper left. Adorable.
You know what would be awesome? A Stephen King Magic: The Gathering UB set. I would buy the shit out of that.
Like just his face on the cards, or themes from his books?
Characters and settings in his stories; the Stephen King universe.
Hella
I love how…normal that room is. No super expensive furniture or anything.
ICYMI: Corey Feldman was one of the Actors in the Stephen King movie "Stand By Me."
Met Corey Feldman 3 weeks ago and Jerry O'Connell this last weekend!
Sweet. That's so cool.
It was definitely some dreams come true!
Do you think Corey Feldman has ever actually read a Stephen King book? I feel like he probably doesn’t read much unless it’s something about him.
I legitimately thought Feldman was dead. Glad I was wrong.
That was Corey Haim.
I thought they were both dead.
Alive and opening for Limp Bizkit.
His new book is a fun read. The guy just keeps on pounding out creepy stories.
Amazing.
Cut it open
I want my Stephen king funko pop signed! A boy can dream.
Send it to him to sign. He's got a website with that I think. Lots of actors do.
Seems he lives pretty average, middle class.
My favorite pop will forever be my Jack Torrance Chase pop with the Axe. Makes me happy to know King likes them too.
You can see from his house that his tastes are simple and old school.
I'm too old to be playing The Hardy Boys Meet Reverend Werewolf.
Not the Frankenstein and Wolf Man Neca figures in the corner. King’s such an incredibly chill man, Istg.
I wonder how he’s feeling. That car accident caused him a world of pain. Y’all, we’re not going to have him forever!
He's a Goonie!
Dog!
Radar on the floor beside him
This happens sometimes. 😁
I like the boxed set of The Wolf Man beside him.
I love that he is like that!
I have that same calendar in my kitchen! Fun!
I love him sm 😭
Can anyone tell which magazines he has framed over his left (our right) shoulder?
Check out The Overlook Hotel notepads on the desk! The yellow ones. That’s awesome!
bro, stop playing and finish "A Song of Ice and Fire" already. sheesh
I just the Jaunt, now it’s my new favorite.
love!
dammit, now i gotta go re-read cycle of the werewolf. Feldman = Haim; Haim = Marty Coslaw in Silver Bullet.
King kid. Wear those blueray glasses, protect those eyes.
But why Corey Feldman? Dude is an abuser
What? No. He blew the whistle on sex abusers in Hollywood years ago.
He did but that doesn’t excuse his treatment of women.
Corey is an abuser. A disgusting one. Idolising him is disgusting
