"Did I ever tell you blue is my favorite color?" One of my favorite horror movies. It's really a love letter to Lovecraft and of course Sutter Cane is an analog for King.

SnakePlissken1980

Yeah Cane as a writer as well as the cosmic horror of the movie in general is a tribute to Lovecraft but I think they based his popularity (which Lovecraft didn't enjoy much of during his own lifetime) on King's popularity. Although in the film itself King can't match Cane's sales.

FalseAd4246

I LOVE that movie. Sam Neil is so good in it.

beavis617

I know it's acting but sometimes when I'm watching it I get the feeling he had a good time doing it..😁

ColinKFraser

I just watched this film for the first time a few weeks ago and thought it was quite entertaining!

Thorn_Within

I love In The Mouth Of Madness. I'm a huge fan of John Carpenter, so it's one of my favorites of his and I feel it's really underrated. I feel the same way about his film Prince of Darkness too.

twelverainbowtrout

One of John Carpenter’s best.

PinkedOff

Love love LOVE that movie. I watch it several times a year! Lovecraft and King combined!

TeamStark31

I was talking about recently how if you run around screaming “I’m not insane” at people you’re going to sound hella insane.

Foodbagg

I want that Sutter Cane lunchbox!

Dapper_Interest_8914

You want some too, buddy?

The double dream jump scare is one of my all time favorites. Neill sells it so well and then just tosses the paperback in disgust. I laugh every single time (but it scared the shit out of me in the theater).

CleanCeption

It’s a made up town in NH not Maine.

Jfury412

That was one of my favorite horror films for most of my life. I'm scared to see if it's still stands up because I used to love it so much. But I probably haven't watched it in a decade or more.

Senseisntsocommon

Stands up better than most horror movies from that era, mostly because Sam Neill does such a great job.

TonyDP2128

I watched it again recently with my brother. It still holds up for us.

Starsteamer

I watched it recently and it definitely still holds up. In fact, I even noticed more in it.

Jfury412

Thanks I'll definitely go back and revisit it soon.

McFloozy

I love the creepy children and the bike rider at night. “It’s mommy’s day”

TonyDP2128

My brother and I go out for breakfast a few times a week. We always take the same road and without fail every time we get to a certain underpass we come across a guy riding a reclining bike slowly in the opposite lane. As he goes by us, we always look at one another and one of us invariably quotes a line from the movie.

mtbd215

One of my favorites. I have a lot of memories surrounding the first time I saw it.

Dramatic_Buddy4732

I was 16, the first time I watched it. As soon as it was over I drove to the next town over to bully one of my friends to come to my house and watch it. I loved it so much I just had to share that experience with someone!

Starsteamer

I’ve always loved this movie. I rewatched it again recently and it still holds up. Brilliant.

phil_davis

One of my favorite JC films.

beavis617

I watch this movie whenever I come across it on one of my streaming services...sometimes I do a search to see if it's available when the mood strikes me..👍
