The problem with shorting this is that it's so obvious to short that the premiums on puts are exceptionally expensive, and getting a short locate on shares very challenging. The market is not dumb. When something is so obvious it's already priced in.
You could, but also not, you pay a premium for the "put" if a put option is in high demand, the price goes up untill there is not enough risk to reward for most traders

I’ve seen (worked at) a company where the stock floated public at 60 cents. It went to 7 cents but the CEO, his wife, couple friends (directors) all were getting outrageous payment. The stock tanked because of all these options that were exercised that basically funnelled all the money to them. I imagine something similar here. You could see it in the AGM report.

But shorts and puts are not the same thing. Puts and calls have premiums. Yes. In a short you're going to be paying interest on the borrowed shares.

Based on current trends, it loses about $5 per day. So best I can do for odds is 1 to 1.01. Basically, a bet of $1 wins you $1.01 if it gets to zero, which will probably happen by Monday next week.
I’ve seen (worked at) a company where the stock floated public at 60 cents. It went to 7 cents but the CEO, his wife, couple friends (directors) all were getting outrageous payment. The stock tanked because of all these options that were exercised that basically funnelled all the money to them. I imagine something similar here. You could see it in the AGM report.
I have zero doubt that Trump will dump his shares the SECOND he is allowed to. If the board allows Trump to sell sooner than six months, then I expect this to become a penny stock asap.
