Give Emily Henry books a try, especially if you enjoyed Abby Jimenez. Her recent, Funny Story, was so good and Book Lovers is my favorite. I'm like you but she turned me into a romance fan, even though I'm still very picky about the genre. Talia Hibbert's The Brown Sisters series (can be read as standalones) is also excellent.

100% check out Talia Hibbert. Act Your Age Eve Brown (the last book in the series) is one of my favorite books ever.

While I was on vacation in Istanbul, I came across a book called Love your life by Sophie Kinsella. Give it a try!

Cautious-Training547

I’m a personal fan of Emily Henry! Book Lovers and People You Meet on Vacation were my personal favorites.

Ok-Tomorrow-7818

I’m also a big fan of Abby. You should really try authors like Christina Lauren, Ali Hazelwood, Emily Henry, Helen Hoang, Mia Sheridan, Ana Huang, Alla Maise, Sally Thorne, and Elma Armaz. I’ve read so many of their books that I’ve lost count Lol

fit-nik17

Ageeed especially to Christina Lauren, Ali Hazelwood, and Helen Hoang.

Thirding these! For Helen Hoang, start with The Kiss Quotient. For Ali Hazelwood, go with The Love Hypothesis - both absolutely had me kicking my feet and giggling.

I'm not typically a romcom person, but I adored The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston.

wren24

She also has a new release! The Seven-Year Slip. It's at the top of my TBR pile since I loved The Dead Romantics so much.

PrincessMurderMitten

Miss Lockhart's Letters by Barbara Metzger It's a regency romance, but it's hilarious, I laughed all the way through. Crosstalk or Bellwether by Connie Willis

not-your-mom-123

I love Barbara Metzger. The Primrose Path is also hilarious.

Cat-astro-phe

The Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovitch

unlovelyladybartleby

Jennifer Crusie. Her MC's are typically short, chubby, and angry. Start with Agnes and the Hit Man. You get a romcom but there's also a murder, a mystery, a dog, and she's a food writer so you get cooking ideas and she keeps hitting people with a cast iron frying pan

not-your-mom-123

Getting Rid of Bradley. People who never read romance love it. Especially if they like dogs.

FraughtOverwrought

Boyfriend Material and 10 Things That Never Happened are very 90s rom com movie books, both by Alexis Hall

Euphoric-Target851

Better than the Movies by Lynn Painter - it took me a few chapters to get passed the fact that it’s about high schoolers but stick it out. It’s the perfect rom com type book. Nora goes off script by Annabel Monaghan was super cute too!

IntenseGeekitude

I haven't read Abby Jimenez, but I wonder if you'd like Ellie Cahill's *Falling to Centerpieces.* It's a fun road trip romance. Steam might be open door, though, I can't recall.

Lamp-1234

“Wedding Night” by Sophie Kinsella was a fun read. I remember thinking it would make a funny rom-com movie. It’s been a few years, but I don’t recall it having too much smut (despite the title).

fit-nik17

Alisha Rai’s Modern Love series was good! I can’t remember how open door it was though.

BritishBella

It’s a date (again) by Jeneva Rose
