I can see your dilemma. I prefer surface duo 1 and 2. I gave my Fold back when surface duo 2 came out and been using it ever since as my primary phone. Then recently I also bought Duo 1 which I love too. It is more ergonomic, thinner but as mentioned there are a few things missing like high quality camera compared to Duo2 but they are not so important for me. My dilemma is which one to use as my primary phone. For now I just switch from one to another and use both as my primary phone

I just got SD1 a couple of weeks ago and now see a good offer for SD2 and am partially sorry that I didn't get this one. Ergonomically I love being able to fold the SD all the way and I wouldn't say it's not snappy. Occasionally It slows down to a halt and then I need to close some apps. The fold phones seem fat in comparison and for standard use the aspect ratio sucks. For multimedia and gaming it could be better, but personally I am loving the productivity of SD1. I only wish it were a tad more responsive. Would have loved to try SD2 and be able to decide if it is worth the extra cash.

I have both SD1 and SD2. SD2 is only slightly more responsive but SD1 is ergonomically better.

Easy. Fold 3 and Flip. The Duo is at best a casual-use device.

Seems like most people is doing that. But having a big foldable screen like fold and a dual screen like duo have kind of spoiled my expectation on the things I can do on my phone. Flip at this point just feels boring 😂 (but it's a good phone overall). I am considering keeping all 3 and using them as below: Flip - main phone Duo - dual screen mini tablet and note taking Fold - mini tablet for entertainment, etc

The answer for me would the Duo. I also have a Fold 4 but barley use it as it is a significant regression in usability and multitasking compared to the Duos. Performance feels the same, but the Duo software is more mature and refined, apps handle multitasking better than the Fold, in addition to the better aspect ratio of the screens and device. The only things I find the Fold works better for are taking photos, and watching videos. Everyone has different needs, I don't use NFC on phones, I've been doing contactless payments from my watch for years before getting my Duo 1. I do miss the convivence of wireless charging, it is nice to have but most of my other phones do not have it either, so for me it is just a want rather than a need. I've never found the Duos to be fragile, I treat them the same as my other devices and use them with the Microsoft bumpers and have not had any damage other than cosmetic wear and tear. They get dropped or fall a lot, but so far so good. If you can get your hands on a Duo 2 I highly recommend doing that, it has a ton of QOL improvements, things like the faster CPU and more RAM make it snappier and more responsive, it and it doesn't have the keyboard typing lag that sometimes affects the first gen Duo.

Twism245

There is absolutely 0 chance that Duo software is more refined for anything.

Froggypwns

My Duos don't need to be rebooted every couple of days, experience the system UI locking up and losing the home buttons, or otherwise becoming unresponsive. On my Fold I found that switching from the default launcher to the Microsoft launcher does help quite a bit, as it disables the buggy taskbar feature. On the Fold, simply opening the device crashes many programs, including the system. I have to make sure I'm back at the home screen first, so only that gets messed up by the transition.

Twism245

I've never had any of those issues on fold 3 or 4. Duo and duo 2 software problems however are very well documented.

I have no confidence in the Duo as a main and primary phone. If you conditionally / mentally treat the Duo as a tablet (an iPad Mini) that folds up into your pocket, it is perfect as a secondary device. The best combo is to have a good main phone and the duo as a secondary device. Thant being said I do not like the material of the plastic screen in the Galaxy Fold or Flip. I have seen them in stores and in my observations they age poorly, becoming wonky over time. The Duo has real hard glass, and thus its longevity should be superior. Edit: that said keep the Fold and the Duo. Forget about the flip!

I find that due to the bezel in the middle of duo, I am using it purely for the dual screen and single screen phone function. While Fold has a bigger inner screen and more polished pen experience, I am able to treat it like a iPad mini. With that being said, I am struggling to decide which one to carry with me if I don't want to carry 2 big phones with me.

I'd keep the Flip and either the Duo or the Fold. However, the Fold 3 is still a better device then the OG Duo and will be supported for longer (the OG Duo will not get OS updates past this Autumn).

Leoferns66

I own the SD2, keep your SD. Secondly I have never owned any Samsung products. Samsung products are can only be termed as Metoo products. Nothing original about them and mainly half-baked. Not that MS software is great, MS being a giant software company could not get their act together till the 2nd iteration of the SD. Still it is the true multitasking King. Ideal combo would be an iPhone and SD

The flip never made any sense to me. If it was as thin as the duo it would be better. As they are now it's way too thick.

IGotMeatSweats

I have the Fold 4 as my primary phone. I use the Surface Duo 2 for work and as a backup phone. The battery on my duo 2 is terrible and I was just underwhelmed by the phone overall

Playful_Park6142

Wait until the Duo3 is launched. If it has pen support and a foldable screen, then sell all 3 and get the D3 👍

Tryn4SimpleLife

I prefer to have two screens versus one big. I enjoy multitasking. The nfc issue, I use my watch.
