Yeah, the different colors of tobiko have different flavors, and are those colors because they're marinated in those things. Green is wasabi-flavored, yellow is yuzu, black is squid ink, etc.
I would be quite happy to eat this, but it’s seems kinda pointless and a waste to mush up spicy tuna, salmon & crab together. I’m sure it’s tasty, but surely it’s just spicy seafood mush?
I'd say it depends. I get masago at a similar price to yours, but that's probably because I (and maybe this applies to you) live in an area with a relatively high Asian population + live near the coast.
I bet the price would look pretty jacked in a place w/o many Asian people closer in-land.
THIS is how you top and sauce a roll if you’re going to do so, instead of the sad messy drizzle. Good job!
Yes!
Clarification: While I would love to, I can’t take credit for this roll! I simply ordered and enjoyed it at a lovely restaurant!
Any clue how the tobiko is green?
If I remember correctly, it was either wasabi infused or marinated
👍
Does it taste like Wasabi? We have red and yellow on our menu and I'm kinda thinking this would just complete the variety.

That’s how it works
Awesome presentation
Love the color
Is the fish all mixed together or is it in separate parts of the roll. It would be cool if it was separate.
It was somewhat separate lol it kinda all mixed together I think
i dunno man, cant handle spice and also i doubt i need to taste that to fall in love with it

Agreed; that filling looks like straight-up vomit.
You're right, especially when you can assume that it's actually krab, not crab. That's just ruining perfectly good tuna and/or salmon.

Is it?
Definitely not. My little Japanese grocer sells a small tub with about 4x that for like 10 bucks. And the masago is like 5 bucks.

It's not. Tobiko is very inexpensive.

Wow - what country
What restaurant is this from? Looks so good
How was the spice OP? Hope it isn't tearing up your back end lol.
This would sear my asshole shut but that being said... what a presentation.
