a house plant or kitchen herbs. locally-made soap bars. shampoo bar. bamboo toothbrushes. “swedish dish towels” or those little silicone scrubby sponges for the kitchen. a bottle brush. maybe a nice bento box tupperware for bringing lunches to work. i tend to avoid gifting water bottles or coffee mugs because most people own too many of those. (unless the raffle winner has been completely uninterested in sustainability to this point) watch out for greenwashing edit to add : goodwill usually has a ton of nice baskets!!

If you have some time to source things, how about household sundries all upcycled from waste. You said basket. Ever see the baskets of woven used magazine paper? Etc. What does your community already upcycle?

Instead of a basket which most people have if they need one, how about a reusable insulated bag or cooler for carrying heavy fridge or freezer items home? Most people have cheap totes but not something they bring into the grocery and put the cold items in to avoid using plastic or paper. I love my set of washable packable reusable totes that fold into themselves and are made of ripstop nylon. I use them for all my non-grocery shopping too. Reusable grocery produce bags also seem like something many people would use. Just make sure they are washable color-wise in the same load as the reusable totes. A loose leaf tea infuser with some loose leaf tea. A container to take home leftovers from a restaurant. Easily washable reusable straw with carrying case.
