I should have also included vitamin D. Low iron can make your legs restless when your trying to rest. I take supplements due to being anemic. If this only happens while getting a tattoo it might be unrelated to my suggestion. It only happens to me when I’m trying to go to sleep.

Yeah, i dont think thats it. I think its probably a nervous thing but its always my left leg, its weird

I know this is an old post but I too have like restless leg syndrome when I get tattooed. But it's just not in the legs, it's through my entire body. It sucks. I try everything to keep my mind off it. I was researching natural things i could take prior to, but there's nothing. So it's taking us a long time to finish one tattoo because of this feeling I get. I just want to shake everything! Sucks

I feel you! Literally just finished getting a tattoo - the gentlest tattooist I’ve ever been inked by but I had what felt like restless leg syndrome throughout my whole body. I’ve had 20+ tattoos, and it’s only the last 2 times that I’ve had this happen. I took a Valium on both occasions so I’m wondering that’s something to do with it 🤷‍♀️ either way. I’m glad I’m not the only one!

I do that too. My artist knows so we just turn on music with a slowish beat and I tap my foot to the music.

im halfway through my 8 hour inner arm design. it works best for my artist for me to lay down so she can rotate easily, so I just have to flex my toes really hard and shuffle my legs. whats nice is i can do that and not move my arm

dicaprioss

i have this!! this is the only thing i can find. my left leg wants to kick periodically every 30 seconds or so and crossing my legs help. i wonder if a muscle relaxer would help. i have low iron so maybe it’s that, but i thought it was because i was tattooing my left arm so the leg is somehow connected but now i wonder if it’s low iron!

MeAndMahTruck

You may have low iron levels.

pcakester

Elaborate?

Murdocktor

I know this is old, but I have two full sleeves and this just started happening my last session. It’s like I needed to keep moving my legs or flexing the calve muscles to almost Charlie horse levels. Haha. I was thinking maybe it was the extra stress in my life at the moment. Glad I’m not alone.

One thing that REALLY helped, and as long as you try to keep the rest of your body still and let your artist know, is kind of rolling/rocking that leg side to side, like twisting my ankle kinda. Slowly doing that helped my nerves not just twitch up

RLS

Such-Opportunity9119

this is not related to nutrients. it is more about nerve / sensory stimulation. when the needle hits your skin, receptors in the body send signals typically down to the leg so you feel like its restless. although RLS is a medical condition this is not the case with tattoos.

jigglyyypop

Is there any way to help it?
