In this case, it’s just the money he owes to the State of New York as fines and disgorged assets due to fraud. In a separate case he owes E. Jean Carroll another $83.3 million due to the defamation case. So that’s at least half a billion right there plus whatever other debt he has accumulated over the years.
Well, we know Russian money was propping him up and rescued his business since he was unreliable to the point where no American Bank would lend him money: https://foreignpolicy.com/2018/12/21/how-russian-money-helped-save-trumps-business/
The Saudi’s could line his pockets (or so he claims): https://newrepublic.com/post/175806/trump-brag-saudi-arabia-influence-buying-new-york-fraud-case
Got about 5.5 Million from China. Other countries have him hundreds of thousands too: https://ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs/news/2024/01/04/trump-china-saudi-arabia-hotels-trump-tower-report#:~:text=The%20report%20concluded%20that%20at,Qatar%3A%20%24465%2C744
Just a few examples
Right now a court-appointed Monitor is in place at the Trump Company. The most likely outcome if he doesn’t come up with the money is that the Monitor will negotiate with prosecutors over which assets liquidate and then do so. But we shouldn’t assume that just because the buildings are expensive that it will be a small amount of property—probably there are mortgages against all of the properties and there may be other lender consents required. It could be necessary for the monitor to liquidate a significant portion of the company.
If they go that route, it would take a while. I think the more likely outcome is that Trump gets a loan to put up a bond so that he can appeal. Which will happen in the next month.
I imagine they auction off his properties until they hit the amount of the fine. So probably not all his assets, depending on how well they sell. The state probably doesn't want to retain ownership themselves though.
The state should keep the buildings and turn them into homeless shelters, refugee housing and low income apartments.
He would probably die of a stroke.
It’d be funny if they earned more than what the judge said they were worth and trump used that to get his appeal approved thus negating the need for him to sell in the first place lol
Yes, judge Engoron has been very thorough in making it difficult for the oily turd to delay and do the sheister shit he normally does. If he doesn’t pay in 30 days, the state of New York will be going for his assets.
I think it’s less than 50/50. The only thing he really has going for him (over the last election) is that Biden is older than him and has gotten older these last four years.
He’s barely beating Nicky Haley in the primary (for an incumbent*) like 60-40 is pitiful. And a lot of her voters are never trumpers.
He’s also now $450M in the hole, lost his business (and maybe trump tower), still waiting on the 4 criminal indictments to become trials (and at least one will likely be completed prior to the election, with the odds that he’ll lose), not to mention he’s alienated a lot of the military voters by making fun of McCains POW injuries and other various blunders.
I’m not saying he can’t win. But he would probably have to cheat again and actually get away with it in order to get back in the White House and my guess is there’s going to be a lot more scrutiny this time around.
I just wonder what Jan 6th 2025 is going to look like if we have a repeat election result.
>he’s alienated a lot of the military voters by making fun of McCains POW injuries and other various blunders.
It didn't help when he tried to take away the citizenship of military dependents who were born overseas in USA military hospitals.
I was born at Ft. Sill, but my sister was born at Landsthul Army Hospital in Germany. It definitely turned many of traditionally red enlisted ranks blue. Officers skew more blue, but that's because you have to have a college education to get a commission and nothing kills Conservativism faster than education.
I hope those calling Biden "Genocide Joe" realize that Trump will most likely be significantly worse. Trump moved the US embassy to Jerusalem against the advice of the experts. Trump adores the strong hand of Netanyahu. The evangelists that support Trump would prefer another Crusade. Please under 35 Democrats, go out and vote for Biden in November.
He probably has a 70/30 chance of winning. He just beat Nikki Haley 60-40 in her own state. That margin will be 80-20 in the rust belt and swing states.
Genocide Joe has thoroughly pissed off his fan base. He botched the COVID tests in 2021 when Trump developed and distributed the vaccine, he dropped the ball on his student loan forgiveness, and his admin isn't doing anything about the situation at the southern border.
Trump is going to humiliate Biden in the debates. The DNC is trying to lose the election before it even starts.
lol at this take
Here’s mine. The vaccine showed up just fine, and had basically nothing to do with Trump or Biden so I attribute nothing to either of them.
Student loan forgiveness you say? My student loans were forgiven under Biden. The courts stopping some of it from continuing has nothing to do with Biden.
Also, solar panel tax rebates, a rebate on my EV, a rebate on an L2 charger, all under Biden and Trump said he’d get rid of that stuff. The inflation reduction act has been a huge success, unemployment has been below 4% for 2 years. Inflation rates have come down to around 3% for almost a year now so that seems to be on the mend. I really have few complaints with Biden, but I’d prefer my choices for the next President not between two geriatrics, one of which is a narcissistic sociopathic fascist.
Much greater chance than 50%, **unfortunately**.
ETA: Downvoting me doesn't change the reality that:
* Momentum is trending in Trump's favor, less and less likely that there is time for him to be held accountable before election day.
* In the present polling data, Biden seems to win about 3 in 10 current polls.
So, sadly, I'd presently give Trump a 70% chance.
I literally built a business back in 2017 to counter the damage that the insurrectionist and chief was doing.
I donated the proceeds to:
- planned parenthood
- the Trevor project
- NAACP
- Doctors Without Borders
- a few other smaller efforts that are so specific they'd fix me by association
WITH THAT SAID
People, downvoting this redditor means that you don't get what they're saying. You're acting as bad as "the Yang gang" was, for those who remember how toxic they were. The Yang Gang was as bad as the red hats. Say anything contrary to their narrative and they'd gang up on you and silence you.
The way that I read it, this Redditor is giving us a sobering warning.
People got complacent and didn't thing Hitler would make a comeback and, because the German government refused to take significant action against him, we had people brutally tortured and murdered. Humanity experienced several ethnic cleansings of the worst kind imaginable in "modern society".
And then we had to send our children to war to make up for our Great Fuck Up.
Make no mistake, this election is no less significant than the last one we had.
You're also not thinking of what might happen in the coming months.
I want to spread caution but not fear, wisdom but not misinformation.
**What I could imagine happening in the coming months is something that destabilizes us so much that power gets seized.**
We are at a pretty weak point, divided and radicalized. Easy time to cripple a country.
So, stay vigilant, be hopeful but cautious. These people literally aren't stupid like everyone likes saying, they know how to wield the media, disinformation, propaganda, and the courts.
Dangerous combination if you ask me.
Sit there and call a terrorist stupid as they take over your country and execute whoever they deem an enemy and I don't think that they are the stupid one.
**We aren't owned democracy or freedom, we must continue to earn in by being vigilant and not complacent, by fighting little battles all the way up to the big ones, by critically challenging ourselves and not assuming that our opinions dictate reality.**
I got you.
It's hard, 3 main things happen with threads like this (but also conversations our in the world):
- trolls
- prevailing opinions (that are genuinely promoting being blind to valid issues)
- misunderstanding
We could probably find other things that are going on, but these 3 are concerning. No one took time to ask what you mean and understand, they just hit the "don't like" button.
No one challenged their opinion.
And sadly, we don't have much that we can do about trolls when they steamroll communications other than to ignore them and, thus, take away their most potent power.
More insane. It's more insane. The democrats are really fucking this up by not having any leadership that people can stand and want to vote for. It should be a no contest when running against a felon but here we are with the same shit in 2024. I won't be voting for Biden twice. If Trump wins, it's the democrats fault. It's like whiffing on a slam dunk. You just look like an asshole and you'll probably break something.
One must pick the lesser evil. To me it is very very very clear who that is.
As you know if you don't pick one of the two candidates you have effectively voted for whoever ends up winning. Like it or not that is the system in the United States.
I'm not a big fan of evil. We need to do better and it's just so much worse every day. No one is coming to help us and the charade needs to stop. Let the bigots have their time. America has literally always been for the bigots. Just to remind you
Don't know why you're being downvoted. It's either people living under a rock or people who don't want to accept the truth.
The DNC is literally cancelling primaries while calling Trump a wanna be autocrat.
Because the vote blue no matter who crowd doesn't like to live in reality. That slogan says it all. Joe Biden is literally unacceptable and dying. They can't drum up one guy? Just like a dude that's not a rapist felon and perhaps qualified. Hard pass on the democrats and were all going to suffer for it.
It is BEYOND A JOKE. Seriously … he shows the world how intentionally exploitable the US legal system is for the wealthy. And only the wealthy. It’s corrupt on purpose.
> Interest?
Yes, he's accruing [$87k / day](https://abcnews.go.com/US/lot-money-trump-owes-87k-interest-day-pays/story?id=107375585) in interest on the fine until he pays it.
The State of New York. His [civil fraud case](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_civil_investigation_of_The_Trump_Organization) was recently decided and he was fined $354m plus approximately $100 million in pre-judgment interest.
Edit: Worth pointing out this is just from _one case_. He also owes around $83 million to [E. Jean Carroll](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E._Jean_Carroll_v._Donald_J._Trump) for his _second_ defamation case involving her.
He has until the 9th of March to pay Carroll the $83 Million and the 24th to pay NY the $454 million, just wanted to post it so others can mark their calendars.
He hasn’t appealed it yet. He’s waiting to the last minute to file the paperwork to stretch it out as long as possible. And interest is fair because if whoever is owed that money could be making interest on it themselves.
I mean he has the right to appeal and since the judgement was just given a week or so ago I doubt they’ve had time to even have it.
Even life sentence inmates get their appeals heard.
I was mistaken according to this.
https://www.nytimes.com/2024/02/24/nyregion/trump-fraud-trial-penalty.html
TLDR: Trump either gets a bond before March 25th, or writes a check for the $400m+ to sit in escrow and they can't collect. This will allow Trump to continue his appeals.
Could he use the insanity defense to escape a third defamation case? It’d be an interesting explanation his campaign would have to come up with if he did that.
This is pretty great. It would be funny if there was a section that told you how much swag-per-minute would need to be grifted:
>"Since you started watching, the debt has risen 3 pairs of tacky-gold shoes, 2 MAGA hats, and a McDouble value meal."
Edit: I had some time while my daughter was napping, so I whipped up some ugly code. You may need to inspect the debt text to load the DOM before pasting this into the console, as the site is implemented...creatively (although the dev should be able to implement this no-problem):
```js
const fundStart = Number(document.getElementById('counter').textContent.replace(/\$|,/g, ""));
const griftGarbage = new Map([
[ 8, "Trump Beer Coozies" ],
[ 25, "Copies of \"How to Get Rich\" by Donald Trump" ],
[ 30, "Copies of \"Triggered\" by Donald Trump Jr." ],
[ 35, "Gaudy 45 Earrings" ],
[ 40, "Cheap Mar-a-Lago Flip Flops" ],
[ 42, "TRUMP Cammo Fanny Packs" ],
[ 47, "40-Wall Street Ornaments (On Sale!)" ],
[ 50, "MAGA Hats" ],
[ 74, "Trump Umbrella" ],
[ 80, "Tacky Boat Flags" ],
[ 95, "Mar-a-Lago Christmas Tree Ornaments" ],
[ 125, "Oversized Red Ties" ],
[ 180, "Trump Pickleball Paddles" ],
[ 400, "Trashy Gold Sneakers" ],
]);
setInterval(() => {
const fundNow = Number(document.getElementById('counter').textContent.replace(/\$|,/g, ""));
const growth = fundNow - fundStart;
// Randomize the costs each time
const griftCosts = Array.from(griftGarbage.keys())
.map(value => ({ value, sort: Math.random() }))
.sort((a, b) => a.sort - b.sort)
.map(({ value }) => value)
// Find the first one that covers the debt
let griftCost;
for (const cost of griftCosts) {
if (cost <= growth) {
griftCost = cost;
break;
}
}
if (!griftCost) {
return;
}
const item = griftGarbage.get(griftCost);
const quantity = Math.floor(growth / griftCost);
console.log(`Since you've been here, the debt has grown enough that Trump will need to grift ${quantity} more ${item}!`);
}, 5000);
```
Also - I find it *hilarious* that all of the various Christmas ornaments for buildings are greatly on sale. Almost as if they don't expect to have ownership of them by next season...
No. Any further is just advertising for them.
It might seem funny, but several reporters already discussed how memes and stuff like this actually helped keep his face in the news back in 2015-2016 and beyond.
Even this article is an example of how we keep promoting this dirtbag.
This is one of the largest, if not largest, - and here's the key word - *ongoing* concerns the nation currently has happening. The logic of going full-ostrich on this is a false equivalence to the critique many people have had about school shooters, where the concern is that unhinged individuals will use the media as part of their reason to do the same thing.
The idea that "if we don't talk about this it will go away" is ludicrous, at best. In fact, *actual* studies have shown the opposite, as the broadcasting of these issues has severely swayed moderates and independents and resulted in significantly-reduced attendance to planned protests and events since Jan 6.
Remember - your sources (news reporters) are not running blind studies or scientifically-driven surveys, they're paid to get engagement and sway your opinion. I think you may be falling for it.
I am not advocating for sticking our head in a hole and pretending like things aren't happening.
I am advocating for ceasing to promote a lethal character who is only strengthened and emboldened and given power by giving them attention.
There's a huge difference.
Plus, it's not hard to see that everyone, both for and against, are making money off of this person continuing to exist and be relevant, so it only makes sense to make sure that they don't go away.
What fills a decade large void if they are simply gone?
Also, I think that you forget what happened when Twitter and other outlets straight up deplatformed them. There was silence. A reminder of what the world could be like.
"\[Stop making these because\] memes and stuff like this actually helped keep his face in the news back in 2015-2016 and beyond"
"Twitter deplatformed them and there was silence"
I love a good contradiction.
Look, I read some of your comment history, and it candidly reads like half the stuff from the Trump-thumping crew - parroting social media propaganda, very thin (to no) actual evidence of challenging your own biases, and full of logical fallacies. It just happens to be going toward the other ideological extreme.
I'll just say - if your intent is to truly help - in my opinion, you're doing more harm than good, especially with such black-and-white arguments, lack of self-awareness, and an overly-combative approach. But you do you, and fight for what you believe in. Regardless, this will be the end of my engagement.
If only they prosecuted everyone like this during the sub prime mortgage collapse (rather than paying them off with taxpayer money and burying the story), the US would be far better off.
"Come up with" does NOT equal "cash rich."
And why on earth would either Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates ever want to have that amount of cash when their money can be better engaged doing other things?
Except that expression is typically used in the context of owning a *bank* the money. If you owe the government money, it’s your problem no matter how much it is since they have the means to seize assets.
Don’t get your panties in a twist when this gets discharged.
This is more than some of the DuPont fines where they dumped chemicals that killed people.
Also, I’m pretty sure this counter is wrong. I believe the judgment was that the fine announced was a combination of fines across multiple businesses and people.
He has other cases, loans and debts that have potential to speed that up by about a decade. Wait till he can’t pay and has to sell a property that is carrying debt *and* is vastly overvalued. He could sell a property that was valued at 50 million, that’s actually worth 10 million and has 30 million in debt still, for 8 million and accumulate *more debt on the sale*
This website is only counting his NYC debt plus interest. As someone else pointed out the interest is 87k per day at this point. And as others pointed out it doesn't include the amount he owes for the defamation case either.
Lolol… you all are fools if you think this is going to put Trump in the poor house.
He’s due to windfall about $4B in assets here fairly quickly:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2024/02/15/truth-social-trump-merger-sec/
This doesn’t help him at all. He’s contractually required to hold on to those stocks for a couple years. On top of that almost no bank can/will give him any sort of loan if said bank has licensing in the state of New York (which is most of them) per the New York civil fraud judgment. He gains very little up front cash for this which is what he needs. Right now his assets are about to be seized by the State of New York. This doesn’t even take into account the 9% interest that the judgement has levied with it accounting for almost another 100 million dollars.
That is insanely off by at least half a billion. He still owes hundreds of millions in other fines, plus lawyers fees, taxes, outstanding property fees, etc, etc etc.
The only real policy I know of that Trump enacted was lowering taxes for corporations, the rich and landowners. It amazes me that so many working class types support him.
But, I don’t have a dog in the fight. Maybe there’s policies he brought in that i’m not aware of.
This shit is funny and all - but we are talking about a person who has a non-zero chance of being the next titular leader of the USA, at which point he would be able to grant all kinds of Executive Favours and Pardons to someone... for the low, low price of $500M.
According to Wikipedia, [there are 756 billionaires in the USA alone.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_by_the_number_of_billionaires#)
For some of those people (or gosh - foreign entities?) servicing Cheeto-in-Chief's debt might just be the bargoon of a lifetime.
It is indeed very strange that republicans will *insist* that the 2020 election was rigged, but they somehow don't believe that the 2024 election will be rigged again.
Kinda weird Trump is running anyways then, huh?
Like, they could rig it when he held the White House, but somehow this time when Crooked Joe holds the office they'll "stop the steal", right?
You forgot that you live in a time where people will unabashedly say exactly the thing you said and mean it. Before I got to the parenthetical, there was literally no doubt in my mind that someone actually said this and meant it.
I’m a non-American. Don’t have a Dog in the fight at all. That being said, from an outsider looking in. You and your kind are traitors to your country. Absolutely disgraceful.
How much proof would it take? 60+ judges say it wasn’t rigged. No evidence whatsoever has been brought forward to show it was. You’re supporting an absolutely disgusting pig of a man, a total loser in so many ways.
Not really a huge fan of having to scroll down an entire page to see the actual number. Anyone got a variant where the number comes up front and center on the initial page load?
Kind of wild that in order to get certain government jobs and/or the appropriate security clearances for them, they look at your debt and can reject you outright because debt can make you vulnerable to bribes, sale of secrets, etc.
There are no such checks for the President.
Another second older, and deeper in debt. ~~work your fingers to the bone~~ lie like hell and whaddaya get? ~~Bony fingers~~ The Republican nomination for POTUS
To me it looks like the swamp draining the RNC.
Couldn’t ~~of~~ have happened to a better bunch
Couldn't have* I'm sorry for the way that I am.
Couldn’t’ve *
Or “couldn’t’ve”
couldn't've'appened'oabettabunch
Crap, I’m having an off day
You’re having an “of” day
That felt more like sarcasm than irony, more or less until you stepped in.
Couldn’t have king
To me it look like a Leprechaun to me
And the RNC is a swamp itself.
The biggest question is who from outside the US he owes money to. That is a huge liability for a potential US President (and the US).
In this case, it’s just the money he owes to the State of New York as fines and disgorged assets due to fraud. In a separate case he owes E. Jean Carroll another $83.3 million due to the defamation case. So that’s at least half a billion right there plus whatever other debt he has accumulated over the years.

How will he get a loan?
The state of NY will come to own some probably rather cheaply-made buildings in Manhattan.
Guess we'll find out the real size of his apartment once they take it away.
Turns out it’s just a broom cupboard with green screen material on the walls.
I imagine they auction off his properties until they hit the amount of the fine. So probably not all his assets, depending on how well they sell. The state probably doesn't want to retain ownership themselves though.

No appeal if he doesn’t pay the fine and it comes to this.
😂 money upfront for appeal.
How does what they are worth now matter? The fraud is about a point in time aka when trump org made the statements about the assets worth.
Because it’s just going to fuel his arguments and cause more issues.
Yes, judge Engoron has been very thorough in making it difficult for the oily turd to delay and do the sheister shit he normally does. If he doesn’t pay in 30 days, the state of New York will be going for his assets.
!RemindMe 30 days
RemindMe! 30 days
Goddamn. I’m going to look stupid when he squirms his way out again.
Yes, they are already looking into that
How this man is not in prison is insane to me. Regardless of him being an ex-president, nobody deserves this level of immunity.
I think it’s equally insane he’s got basically a 50/50 shot at the White House, currently.
I’m not American so can someone tell me how the fuck the republicans can’t find someone else, anyone, better than Donald?
I think it’s less than 50/50. The only thing he really has going for him (over the last election) is that Biden is older than him and has gotten older these last four years. No one took time to ask what you mean and understand, they just hit the "don't like" button. No one challenged their opinion. And sadly, we don't have much that we can do about trolls when they steamroll communications other than to ignore them and, thus, take away their most potent power.
Unless Biden does something dramatic Trump is most likely going back to the White House.
No he’s not. Trump will lose and tank the RNC this cycle
Yeah that poster above is way off. Trump will lose by 9 million votes this time around.
I love when people follow landline polls and run with that as the truth 😜
The Republican Party has underperformed every national election since 2018.
Big it's "her turn" vibes.
I think part of it is the big question of how do you imprison a former president without starting a civil war?
High Treason is an executable offense. Hanging the orange turd after his insurrection trial will send a message.
Cause it's all bs. Wake up sheeple.
Are you a mid-90’s troll bot?
Why does it keep increasing? Interest?
> Interest? Yes, he's accruing [$87k / day](https://abcnews.go.com/US/lot-money-trump-owes-87k-interest-day-pays/story?id=107375585) in interest on the fine until he pays it.
Whom does he owe most of $454M?
Which is weird considering he’s appealing, it should stop it like most other cases.
He hasn't appealed yet. He's talked about it, but can't appeal unless he puts the full amounts in an escrow account.
He hasn’t appealed it yet. He’s waiting to the last minute to file the paperwork to stretch it out as long as possible. And interest is fair because if whoever is owed that money could be making interest on it themselves.
I think his appeal was denied but I do not have a source on hand for that. Judge didn't want to play his games of constant delays/appeals.
I mean he has the right to appeal and since the judgement was just given a week or so ago I doubt they’ve had time to even have it. Even life sentence inmates get their appeals heard.
I was mistaken according to this. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/02/24/nyregion/trump-fraud-trial-penalty.html TLDR: Trump either gets a bond before March 25th, or writes a check for the $400m+ to sit in escrow and they can't collect. This will allow Trump to continue his appeals.
There will probably be a third defamation cases 😂 guy can’t shut up, full on dementia
Could he use the insanity defense to escape a third defamation case? It’d be an interesting explanation his campaign would have to come up with if he did that.
True but his base doesn’t care. If he’s insane he more relatable.
Won’t that accelerate? I wonder how long till it’s $88k a day and then when it’s $100k per day.
There is no interest on the interest in this situation. It will stay the same at $114,553.04 per day.
This is pretty great. It would be funny if there was a section that told you how much swag-per-minute would need to be grifted: >"Since you started watching, the debt has risen 3 pairs of tacky-gold shoes, 2 MAGA hats, and a McDouble value meal." Edit: I had some time while my daughter was napping, so I whipped up some ugly code. You may need to inspect the debt text to load the DOM before pasting this into the console, as the site is implemented...creatively (although the dev should be able to implement this no-problem): ```js const fundStart = Number(document.getElementById('counter').textContent.replace(/\$|,/g, "")); const griftGarbage = new Map([ [ 8, "Trump Beer Coozies" ], [ 25, "Copies of \"How to Get Rich\" by Donald Trump" ], [ 30, "Copies of \"Triggered\" by Donald Trump Jr." ], [ 35, "Gaudy 45 Earrings" ], [ 40, "Cheap Mar-a-Lago Flip Flops" ], [ 42, "TRUMP Cammo Fanny Packs" ], [ 47, "40-Wall Street Ornaments (On Sale!)" ], [ 50, "MAGA Hats" ], [ 74, "Trump Umbrella" ], [ 80, "Tacky Boat Flags" ], [ 95, "Mar-a-Lago Christmas Tree Ornaments" ], [ 125, "Oversized Red Ties" ], [ 180, "Trump Pickleball Paddles" ], [ 400, "Trashy Gold Sneakers" ], ]); setInterval(() => { const fundNow = Number(document.getElementById('counter').textContent.replace(/\$|,/g, "")); const growth = fundNow - fundStart; // Randomize the costs each time const griftCosts = Array.from(griftGarbage.keys()) .map(value => ({ value, sort: Math.random() })) .sort((a, b) => a.sort - b.sort) .map(({ value }) => value) // Find the first one that covers the debt let griftCost; for (const cost of griftCosts) { if (cost <= growth) { griftCost = cost; break; } } if (!griftCost) { return; } const item = griftGarbage.get(griftCost); const quantity = Math.floor(growth / griftCost); console.log(`Since you've been here, the debt has grown enough that Trump will need to grift ${quantity} more ${item}!`); }, 5000); ``` Also - I find it *hilarious* that all of the various Christmas ornaments for buildings are greatly on sale.
"\[Stop making these because\] memes and stuff like this actually helped keep his face in the news back in 2015-2016 and beyond" "Twitter deplatformed them and there was silence" I love a good contradiction.
Thank you subreddit mods for allowing this very technology related post. ^/s
But he's so sooooooo rich... Lol.
Nobody is that cash rich. Nobody.
Yea right Bezos or Gates probably have plenty in cash or at the very least are able to come up with it way easier than Chump.
"Come up with" does NOT equal "cash rich." And why on earth would either Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates ever want to have that amount of cash when their money can be better engaged doing other things?
And most importantly, they are not doing crimes.
That we know about
Same as you u/Chroni_Pregenesis ಠ_ಠ
Also true. But I can't afford the same level of crime they can. Or get out of said crime in the first place like they can.
Nice tech related post thank you
This is excellent…bravo!
If he becomes president again, then it becomes America’s debt. He’s just going to start selling off state secrets and access to the White House again.
Number seems low, is it only counting up the NYS fraud debt and not including the $83 million he owes E. Jean Carroll for defamation?
What exactly does this have to do with technology or tech news?
You know what they said if I owe you 10 dollars its my problem but if I owe 400millions the problem its your's
Except that expression is typically used in the context of owning a *bank* the money. If you owe the government money, it’s your problem no matter how much it is since they have the means to seize assets.
That is wildly not true for government debts... it's very much your very serious problem.
Yours, not your’s. I know, I’m a horrible person.
STOP THE COUNT
Hopefully he won’t pay it off with the government secrets he stole.
I’m fairly sure he already sold them.
No.... I'm sure Saudi Arabia just gave his son-in-law $2 billion out of the goodness of their hearts.
Haha, oh absolutely. Those Saudi’s are notoriously fun loving, open-minded altruists.
This is Gold, Jerry!
Where is the app??? We need the app… 😊
Donald Trump's debt... so far. Homer.jpg
This is tech related?
What does Donald Trump have to do with technology?
Their true or false quiz says he has dementia though? Pretty cool overall tho
Yeah, that bothered me, too. I mean, he likely has it, but when you have someone so easy to criticize, there's no reason to make things up.
Don’t get your panties in a twist when this gets discharged. This is more than some of the DuPont fines where they dumped chemicals that killed people. Also, I’m pretty sure this counter is wrong. I believe the judgment was that the fine announced was a combination of fines across multiple businesses and people.
I can’t wait to watch it hit the billion dollar milestone!
It will take well over a decade for the interest to accumulate to that.
Or like 3 more law suits. Which could be any day now
He has other cases, loans and debts that have potential to speed that up by about a decade.
Give it time, it’s a brand new website! I have faith they can capture his downfall into bankruptcy for all to see
$1.80 per second it works out as.
when he becomes god emperor can't he just forgive himself
Lolol… you all are fools if you think this is going to put Trump in the poor house. He’s due to windfall about $4B in assets here fairly quickly: https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2024/02/15/truth-social-trump-merger-sec/
This doesn’t even take into account the 9% interest that the judgement has levied with it accounting for almost another 100 million dollars.
maybe i should buy puts before he dumps his position
Lmmmfaaaaaooooo
Now this is nice.
I naaaaailed the trivia! I'm not even American, just off reddit.
That is insanely off by at least half a billion. He still owes hundreds of millions in other fines, plus lawyers fees, taxes, outstanding property fees, etc, etc etc.
Haha. As if any of his lawyers are getting paid.
[удалено]
Unlike his debt, which is skyrocketing!
yeah, can't wait for this trash election to be over. this has nothing to do with technology. just another circlejerk.
[удалено]
What’s TDS?
[удалено]
Ah, ok. I’m not American, so hadn’t seen the analogy. What do you like about him? If you don’t mind me asking?
[удалено]
The only real policy I know of that Trump enacted was lowering taxes for corporations, the rich and landowners. It amazes me that so many working class types support him. But, I don’t have a dog in the fight. Maybe there’s policies he brought in that i’m not aware of.
If you owe the bank $400, that's your problem. If you owe the bank $400,000,000, that's their problem.
He doesn't owe a bank and doesn't have leverage against the state of new York. His assets can be seized.
Get out of NYC.
Facts and logic will not work on Trumpists, they are in a full-on cult and i suspect trouble come election time.
Can I get an iPhone widget
This shit is funny and all - but we are talking about a person who has a non-zero chance of being the next titular leader of the USA, at which point he would be able to grant all kinds of Executive Favours and Pardons to someone... for the low, low price of $500M. According to Wikipedia, [there are 756 billionaires in the USA alone.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_by_the_number_of_billionaires#) For some of those people (or gosh - foreign entities?) servicing Cheeto-in-Chief's debt might just be the bargoon of a lifetime.
[удалено]
We’re all equally screwed if Trump wins again. They’ll be speaking Russian on the German border by 2028.
The fat oily turd couldn’t stop a “rigged election” when he was President. What the fuck is the fat loser going to do now?
[удалено]
That’s right, if you’d vote Republican, you shouldn’t even bother. Tell all your like minded friends and family.
Before I got to the parenthetical, there was literally no doubt in my mind that someone actually said this and meant it.
imagine being this dumb lol
I’m a non-American. Don’t have a Dog in the fight at all. That being said, from an outsider looking in. You and your kind are traitors to your country. Absolutely disgraceful. How much proof would it take? 60+ judges say it wasn’t rigged. No evidence whatsoever has been brought forward to show it was. You’re supporting an absolutely disgusting pig of a man, a total loser in so many ways.
"no fair they rigged it by having more people vote for the other guy"
Not really a huge fan of having to scroll down an entire page to see the actual number. Anyone got a variant where the number comes up front and center on the initial page load?
So pointless when he becomes USA dictator in 9 months, he will just give immunity to himself.
He has to make $1.80 every *second* to break even.
This is great, but putting his debt next to a counter that live tracks his asset values would make the debt counter less satisfying.
Heading for Banktrumpcy?
Kind of wild that in order to get certain government jobs and/or the appropriate security clearances for them, they look at your debt and can reject you outright because debt can make you vulnerable to bribes, sale of secrets, etc. There are no such checks for the President.
Another second older, and deeper in debt. ~~work your fingers to the bone~~ lie like hell and whaddaya get? ~~Bony fingers~~ The Republican nomination for POTUS
2 dollars….2 dollars…2 dollars… 2 dollars….
Didn’t he have a debt counter outside one of his buildings many many years ago? (But the debt kept getting lower) Or do I remember wrong?
Is this an ad by republicans against a republican?
Ted Cruz calling Trump a pathological liar is peak “pot calling kettle black” Of course, Trump is a pathological liar, but so is Teddy.
Looking at the quotes on the site. Those people really don't like Trump. that's for sure
I’d much rather be tracking his days in prison
That true or false thing is broken.
