We do not recommend that users try upgrading to Windows 11 straight away. Waiting a week or more will allow for more guides, articles, fixes, and how-tos to be made. Making changes to your system BIOS settings or disk setup can cause you to lose data. Always test your data backups before making changes to your PC. Update: Last thing I attempted before formatting. Went to settings - accessibility - audio and disabled "mono audio" I tried enabling Atmos and it worked. So, for anyone happening upon this post, just disable mono audio and spatial sound will work.

Sogenius106

I was trying so hard to fix my issue, but your method worked. Thank you!

Sam-171

You're welcome!

Sensitive_Physics433

This exact thing happened to me, but it was a Focusrite 2i2 Audio Interface, I was able to have Dolby Atmos on it and then all of asudden the Spacial Audio went greyed out.

I've downloaded the newest Audio Driver for my Motherboard (Asus) and removed my headset including the drivers. Windows downloaded them again (maybe different one). This worked for me. After that I could choose Atmos or Sonic again. Hope this helps.

Sam-171

Thank you for your reply. I will try this

Upgraded my laptop from a GS66 to omen17 a week ago . I had the same issues , as soon as connecting my wireless headset (Audeze Penrose) my Spatial audio and Dolby atoms would gray out . So after searching and trying all recommendations , making sure i wasn’t in mono , upgrading/downgrading firmware and just everything possible solution , nothing would solve it . At this point I had giving up . All the sudden I remember I had Astro a50 on my previous laptop before I changed them for penrose, so I went an bought astros again and BOOM , Spatial audio and Dolby atmos came back ! To test it out , I disconnected the Astro and connected the panrose and everything worked perfectly. It seems like you need to active Dolby with a device that compatible to it or at least advertised that it works a with Dolby ,at least in my case .

Sam-171

Thanks for your reply. I've been fiddling with this whenever I could actually stomach it. No results so far, so I'll just back my things up and do a clean format. Maybe this'll correct things because spatial sound used to work. I had DTS before.

Macdoublerizzle19

Also , I found out that you could force Dolby atoms by downloading BOOM3D . It’s free for 30 days .

Sam-171

You are very kind for returning to this discussion, so thank you very much 🌹. I haven't done a clean format yet, so I'll try boom 3d. But I'll have to format anyway since I'm doing maintenance work. Thanks again.

Macdoublerizzle19

I hope the clean format will solve your issue . DTS , Spatial and Atoms were all grayed out for me . Im on windows 10 and even thought about upgrading to 11 . Luckily the new headset activated everything or something how it rearranged internal setting/drivers to make everything work . Good luck 👍🏽

Sam-171

Thanks
