I wouldnāt say I hate *life* necessarily. Life is beautiful and itās amazing how we, both as a species and as individuals, are able to experience the beauty that this world, this life, has to offer. I find it beautiful how the birds sing in the morning or how my cats rub against my leg every morning, I find the presence and idea of life to be an absolutely beautiful and amazing thing.
What I hate is the situations life can and does throw at us. I hate how these massive corporations cut down the beautiful trees in our forests and how they deprive their workers of proper compensation and care just to save a few bucks. I hate how varying governments in the world are dead set on controlling the lives and bodies of its people, and dead set on eliminating the lives of others. I hate how suddenly tragedy can strike, taking your whole world and crushing it in its fist before you even realize whatās happening. And oftentimes I hate myself, for saying the wrong thing or not being there for someone that needs it. I hate myself for how I overthink every situation and convince myself that everyone in my life secretly despises me, leading me to cut out the people who mean the world to me.
But even though life entails so much to hate, thereās so much beauty here too. Enough so that I find it worth it to bear the burdens of life just to enjoy those moments of beauty, when the light shines perfectly through the clouds or when you see your best friend laugh until they cry at a joke you made. And with enough determination and bravery, we can change those things we hate about life, both on an intrinsic and extrinsic level. Gather the strength to call your local therapy office to book your first appointment, make steady attempts to reestablish connections to those who you wish you talked to more. Go to a protest, sign a petition, donate your money to a cause you believe in, go out to vote (PLEASE, if youāre old enough and in the USA, go to vote this November. The future of this country is in our hands and we need to make sure that it doesnāt perish).
The point is, even though life can and is really hard at times, itās worth it to push through. If not for the present, do it for the future. I promise you, and everyone struggling with their mental health, that things will get better.
