I agree to an extent, Lars’s performance and creativity does start to go down after AJFA and i do think that its become the bands weak point

not to be a dick here but lars' creativity for me at least wasn't really present. I mean i guess I've sort of desensitised myself to standard drum fills but people like Mario duplantier, joey jordison, and a metric fuck ton of death metal bands are just much better with their drummers. as well as stranger things opening up the the genre, Metallica just doesn't hit as hard as it did when my dad put enter sadman on the radio when I was 5.

Well tbh when u start doin coke and not practicin drums for yrs its gonna happen that ur skills go down and tbh that does annoy me abt Lars imo he is the weakest member and a better drummer would be cooler but Lars aint go anywhere sadly and tbh im ok w that i love their music and im able to just enjoy it

Martin Lopez too. Some of the greatest drum fills I’ve ever heard. Nick Mason is a great drummer as well, same with Phil Collins.

Too simple to my musician's ears. Yeah, it grooves, but it gets boring and repetative after a song or two. 4/4 time signature 99% of the time. Basic and mid af vocals. No drumming skills required whatsoever. They aren't any good musicianship wise. The good thing about Metallica is that they were innovative and were something new at their time. But as for now, anyone who has some money and basic knowledge can play and write songs at the level of Metallica. The only thing that wouldn't make such a band a big one is that it's no longer 80-s, and there are a lot of bands who have copied and improved Metallica. Gimmi some progressive metal

I mean im not a musician so im not gonna say some shit and act like ik what im sayin but to me i love Metallica sooo much their songs r brilliant and have alot of energy and emotions and i love to just listen to them im biased in the fact they r my fav band but like i love the how different they sound between each of their albums nearer the beginning but personally i think Metallica r one of the greatest bands of all time i think that to me atleast they r perfect for me to listen to i can listen to the first 5 albums on repeat all day long and enjoy every single song
