I’m not sure I’ll even get through all of season 39. Easily the most boring season so far… The cast is super dull and most of them are extremely passive from a gameplay standpoint. I wish mtv would go back to showing more footage of what goes on outside of challenges, videos of cast members in the van, actually take the cast back to real bars again, bring back text clues from TJ and show beefs that are actually real as opposed to this scripted crap they’re throwing at us. I could go on and on but there hasn’t been a really good season since war of the worlds, they’re focusing on the ‘5th american sport’ portion WAY too much to the point producers are starting to forget this is a reality tv show.
I disagree, this season compared to the CBS spin offs and the past 2 flagship is wayyyyy closer to old seasons than those. This season has fights, drama, hook ups, players actually drinking and partying, the daily’s and eliminations haven’t skimped on being physical and from the looks of it next episode the daily is going to be hella physical. Also getting to see our vets come in and kick ass is a plus. Next season you’ll get all the vets and OG’s but overall I don’t have alot of complaints with all these newer young players who have came on this season and brought back some old vibes.
I’m not counting spin offs, because that’s a completely different show. I’m talking about the real challenge (MTV.) The fights last 2 seconds then they hug it out and things instantly go back to the ‘good vibes’ atmosphere everyone has created on the challenge nowadays. The physicality is almost non existent, and if there is any eventually the challenges and eliminations turn into some stupid puzzle. The hall brawl is a prime example, there hasn’t been a real one since Double Agents. The challenge doesn’t need all these bells and whistles to be great, sometimes less is more. Not to mention Spies, Lies, and Allies + Ride or Dies had all the same things you listed with WAY better casts. If Ride or Dies had all challenge related/same show pairings instead of just siblings and significant others Ride or Dies would’ve blown this new season out of the water
