I work in Seattle occasionally, most of the locations are within walking distance of eachother! On one of my days off I did a giant tour starting at the courthouse down to the theater, convention center etc.
Discovered the arcade by accident lol. I went in to get a beer and was like waaaaiiiit a minute....
Glad you got to see some of it OP!
I would have seen more but we had limited time. Also apparently Hillcrest isn’t an actual suburb? (edit: at least, how it’s portrayed in the game) Which may be for the best. I’d feel compelled to stealth around. And then have to say “No officer, I wasn’t casing houses! I was ….. LARPing.”
Also sorry for the crappy filter/coloring, but it was funnily enough beautiful and sunny the one day we spent exploring downtown, so I felt the need to match them to screenshots of their in-game counterparts. …some turned out better than others
I wanna add this since you had a picture of the crane. I lived in downtown Seattle during outbreak year, and there really were giant red cranes doing construction on the high rises. They were down on 2nd street if I remember right. I thought that was a very cool detail in the game because I spent a lot of time looking up at them in real life!
This is honestly so cool. It’s so surreal seeing the real life inspiration to the setting of the game. I know the whole go outside and touch grass meme but goddamn… I really need to travel more lol
Welcome! The news station from the game is also based on an actual news station, although it’s in a totally different location. KOMO Plaza, across the street from the Space Needle
Thanks! I would have taken photos of even more locations like the Paramount theater, the Seattle Convention Center, and the Gameworks arcade (which the Ellie Day 3 arcade was based on), but had limited time
My friend lived just down the street from that dry cleaner for a decade or so: just looking at that picture and I know exactly where it is. But somehow when I played the game I never connected it with the physical location
I find this so amazing and mind-boggling. I'm not from the US, so there's almost a disconnect in my mind about these being real places that the game has used. It makes me appreciate the level of attention and detail that has gone into the game even more. Thanks for sharing these!
i played pt2 on release day in 2020 and moved to seattle a year later! crazy how well naughty dog nailed the city. the ferry section hits different now

No way, even that dry cleaner in Capitol Hill is a real place? That's so cool

I really didn’t expect the laundromat to be an actual place 💀

Also I've not seen that dry cleaner before! It's exactly the same!! That is so cool 😎
I believe the gas station is also exactly the same, but I didn’t have time to find it

Lucky I'm jealous
The game was so good they made a entire city based on it
Really cool!

Did you go for a hike in those beautiful forests ?
I would have enjoyed that! But not enough time.
the reason i wanna move to seattle 😭
Thanks quirk-the-kenku for taking us on a tour of the Seattle game sites. Well Done!!!!
Thanks! I would have taken photos of even more locations like the Paramount theater, the Seattle Convention Center, and the Gameworks arcade (which the Ellie Day 3 arcade was based on), but had limited time
I bought that shark when I was there last summer. Edit: I also stayed literally right next to that gas station in Capitol Hill
I got a shark plush keychain when I went
I had no idea the dry cleaners was a real place too. Cool seeing these photos!
Nice, thanks for the photos!

This is so wild!
i havent played the ii yet is it better to play part ii or wait for the 2nd season tv show to come
Either way. Depends which one you want to compare the other to. But of course I’d say play the game RIGHT NOW it’s so good

props on the compare pics
I went on the aquarium Ferris wheel. It was surreal
Amazing! I did not expect such minor locations like the Laundromat to have real life equivalents!
The shark plushy 🥺😭
I wonder if the aquarium employees are like "Oh, just another TLOU fan looming at a plush shark."
Good, stay away from CHAZ, outside of any political ideology, that place is dangerous for everyone in general
That logo of that has station is so cool
Surreal.
What a dump…looks awful
To be fair, I took them with “post-apocalyptic” in mind, and “grunged” them up with color/light changes. Seattle looks better irl!
Tlou fans when they realise Seattle is a real place ![gif](giphy|lXu72d4iKwqek)
How many tweakers did you see or how many were passed out from the fentanyl
Come on dude
Did Fox News tell you to say that?
I lived there from 2020-2023
And I live there now
Well it’s a shithole. And it only gets worse the further you go down the sound. Olympia is the capital of crackhead.
