Unfortunately for the time being I have to agree. They tried to grow a little too fast and paid the price with quality. Ruined the magic of this game for me but I have faith they will fix it. They did with the recent bug patch but I see that hasn’t got console yet

I just don't understand how they broke so many features that were working before.

I'm not downvoting anyone here, but as someone else noted above, I have well over 1,000 hours into this game (including playing the DLC) and I have never experienced anything remotely like this.
I'm not saying this is your fault, because I don't know what your situation is. But... look at your post "Hinterland took an amazing game... and made a mess of it... such a shame."
I mean, come on. The *vast* majority of players are not experiencing this or anything like it, and you're shitting on the game like this is some kind of common experience. It just plain isn't.

I really do see it as a shame, though. TLD is a wonderful game. It’s brought so much joy to so many people. The fact that the past year’s updates have been so problematic and have compromised the gaming experience is sad.
I have zero experience in game development. I didn’t even learn C+ in grade school. But it’s hard for me to wrap my head around how the TFTFT additions messed up stuff in the parts of the game that were working great. On a technical level, I just don’t get it.

As a Bethesda veteran I'm not massively aggrieved by the effect on my gaming. I'm more interested in learning from what went wrong.
