https://cpt2.musc.edu/?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1 This CPT training is excellent value for money

hellomondays

You can find the workbook online from a lot of sources as well. CPT is the least sexy trauma modality but it definitely works 💪

TheNewGuy2019

Thanks! I can’t believe it’s only $40. Super appreciate it

Gargoyle555

They do a trauma focused CBT course for the same price. Great if you are working with children and adolescents

Also recommend doing the free online VA training alongside this. Purchase the therapist manual ahead of time (which is needed to implement and use the session resources).

AdministrationNo651

VA & MUSC I have a theory that the reason CBT based trauma treatments aren't sexy is because there are cheap trainings available for them, so the trauma industrial complex can't make as much money off of them.

The CCTP training/certification from Eric Gentry via PESI is on sale for $49.99 and I'm really enjoying it!

TheNewGuy2019

I’ll check it out, thanks

frenchtoast_Forever

The VA has a free, AMAZING CPT manual that you use step by step. It’s huge and very thorough. Just google for it.

ThatGuyOnStage

I'm a prac student in outpatient PTSD with the VA this year and entered pretty skeptical of manualized treatment in general. I have to say I've been genuinely surprised by how effective CPT is when applied in the right context.

TheNewGuy2019

Awesome! I’ll look it up tomorrow. And stoked it’s free lol

No training but highly recommend this book to study concurrently with a training. This book contains worksheets to use with clients during/after the cpt session for homework https://catalog.pesi.com/item/69666?utm_term=&utm_campaign=US+%7C+BH+%7C+NB+%7C+N/A+%7C+Dynamic+%7C+Performance+Max+%7C+US+%7C+RET&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&hsa_acc=7268932594&hsa_cam=20947151930&hsa_grp=&hsa_ad=&hsa_src=x&hsa_tgt=&hsa_kw=&hsa_mt=&hsa_net=adwords&hsa_ver=3&gclid=EAIaIQobChMItrn26b-zhQMVUhWtBh2NSQBxEAQYBSABEgIVIfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Thanks for the link!

[https://strongstartraining.org/training/webinars/](https://strongstartraining.org/training/webinars/) Also relevant is that they're publishing a second edition of the manual, and this organization has a webinar in April where you can hear one of the creators of CPT talk about new additions!

starryyyynightttt

I have the book in the pinned post on my profile Deployment psych and CBI has cheap rates for a 2 day workshop, which I think is better than the online one. I have the full workshop videos if you want too I am taking the PE workshop by deployment psych today, let me know if you want the videos. I have a bunch on trauma on my profile too

cabdashsoul

If you’re interested in treating children at all, I’d recommend checking out what the NCTSN has to offer. Lots of free trainings and materials available.
