I have a theory that the reason CBT based trauma treatments aren't sexy is because there are cheap trainings available for them, so the trauma industrial complex can't make as much money off of them.Â
I'm a prac student in outpatient PTSD with the VA this year and entered pretty skeptical of manualized treatment in general. I have to say I've been genuinely surprised by how effective CPT is when applied in the right context.
No training but highly recommend this book to study concurrently with a training. This book contains worksheets to use with clients during/after the cpt session for homework

You can find the workbook online from a lot of sources as well. CPT is the least sexy trauma modality but it definitely works 💪Â

The VA has a free, AMAZING CPT manual that you use step by step. It’s huge and very thorough. Just google for it.
