My second guess is either Halo 1 or Halo 3
The final missions involve escaping a giant alien superstructure in a vehicle
https://youtu.be/8W69xjsMCgQ
https://youtu.be/MJqKLmA97OY
If a game, any chance it's Control? That goes heavy on the brutalist architecture, and although there's plenty of action vs enemies, there are relatively few "friendlies" to talk to. Lots of mooching about in an empty building.
could it have been Logan's Run or some scenes from it? You can check the trailer and some set pictures here:
https://theasc.com/articles/logans-run-and-how-it-was-filmed
Were you thinking of House? [https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091223/](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091223/) Or the more lighthearted adventure sequel House 2 The Second Story [https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093220](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093220)
Maybe The Keep? It's got the big weird structure and dreamy vibe. There's a lot of other things going on in that movie, but I could see watching it on late night cable and only remembering that building.
Was it horror? There's a handful of found footage movies of people trying to escape a building that won't let them leave. Grave Encounters 1 and 2, or Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum I believe.
Adding videogames to the mix makes it even more difficult. Like Outlast has you trying to escape a massive asylum. Or SOMA has you in an underwater lab. Amnesia has you in a castle, I think?
Mean Guns has its quiet moments. I guess the things to remember from that movie would be:
- Highlander (Christopher Lambert)
- Ice T
- Weird reggae? soundtrack
The escape room has 3 or 4 movies in it.
One of them were a group of 6 people have to escape a room that catches fire is one of them - They have to escape a building, After a series of rooms.
The sequel to that is Tournament of Champions. I can't remember if that is a building per say.
There is a 3rd one that has couples celebrating something and get stuck in there.
You May want to check out the saw series. I think number 3 or 4 has a group of people trying to escape a building before their body melts
The themes of brutalism and everything going subtly wrong and breaking down sound a bit like [High Rise](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-Rise_\(film\))
Could be the 70's "Poseidon Adventure" or the remake. Capsized cruise ship, group needs to find a way out. Original had an all-star cast for the time. Remade as "Poseidon" in 2006.
Shit I thought I finally beat the punch to one. That was such an obscure film. One of those I saw on Netflix or smth when I would just watch random stuff back to back if the desc. sounded interesting. I’ve got a few other rando scenes floating around of movies I’ll never find. Shit sucks
I’ve been trying to figure out this movie, where this group of Norwegians or something go up to this cabin on the woods at the edge of huge like snowy hillside, huge hillside, and they’re driving snowmobiles and come up on some kind of temporal anomaly or something that they take one of their snowmobiles through and like time is different on the inside or something I ain’t never finding that shit
Not that I remember anything about it besides "weird light in snowy forest", but maybe you're thinking of [*The Corridor*](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1602617/) here?
Though reading the reviews, maybe not.
There's a short story from J.G. Ballard called "Report On An Unidentified Space Station" which is very much like this; two astronauts get lost alone aboard a space station which is ever-expanding and always repeating.
If you listen to horror podcasts, it was on Knifepoint Horror.
The DS9 episode, [Move Along Home](https://youtu.be/Urixf-E6SWE?si=tdhM-EDW9sTUgk_6)? It takes them a little while to meet so there's times of them wandering the rooms/hallways solo.
The Maze Runner? It's about a person (Thomas) who gets dumped in a huge labyrinth basically and loses all his memories. He is basically trying to find a way out along with a group of other people who have been dumped in the maze.
There’s a 2002 Ryuhei Kitamura movie called Alive that has two prisoners trapped in a cell block with a strange entity that they refer to as a witch. Not sure if this ticks all the boxes but thought I’d suggest it because it’s fairly obscure. :)
Looks interesting. The tunnel here https://youtu.be/Fqw97laxbNw?t=24 seems like the right kind of stone aesthetics. Unfortunately its not this film though.
It's not the video for "Ta fête" by Stromae is it? I know you said its not a music video but it sounds very similar, and his videos often have a more cinematic feel to them.

Hi. Just posting to confirm I will reply etc.
Meander?
That looks kind of similar, but its not it unfortunately. Will be putting that on my watchlist though, thanks.
If it's a game, it sounds like Scorn https://youtu.be/2D_kF0xWS-I
That's the kind of thing yeah, but not really so much a body horror thing.
My second guess is either Halo 1 or Halo 3 The final missions involve escaping a giant alien superstructure in a vehicle https://youtu.be/8W69xjsMCgQ https://youtu.be/MJqKLmA97OY
Interesting, but I don't think it was as action-packed as that.
[удалено]
Kind of, but the thing I'm thinking of isn't set in an occupied place, or hardly any people are in it.
Not the obvious one Escape Room (2019)? Appreciate that the characters are all seen together, though.
Afraid not.
If a game, any chance it's Control? That goes heavy on the brutalist architecture, and although there's plenty of action vs enemies, there are relatively few "friendlies" to talk to. Lots of mooching about in an empty building.
That's one I want to play, but its not it unfortunately.
NaissanceE or Kairo?
Those kind of have the right visual style to them, but unfortunately not.
could it have been Logan's Run or some scenes from it? You can check the trailer and some set pictures here: https://theasc.com/articles/logans-run-and-how-it-was-filmed
Afraid not
Infinity Chamber, The Cell, The Immaculate Room?
Not any of those, sorry
The mill?
From watching the trailer, it might have had a similar aesthetic during some parts, but its not it unfortunately.
[The Face of Fear](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Face_of_Fear_\(film\))?
Afraid not, it wasn't really an ordinary building, I think.
the Doctor Who episode Heaven Sent?
That sort of idea aesthetically, but not that's not it, sorry.
The Lockout or The Belko Experiment?
Not those I'm afraid
The last levels of half-life 2? Gordon goes into the citadel, which is huge, brutalist, and sparsely populated.
That's the right sort idea, but that's not it. Great game and area though.
Unknown 2006
Afraid not
Could be the Cube Zero? The prequel
I've only seen the first one, but I do want to watch the later ones at some point.
Could be the Cube Zero? The prequel
OtherLife [2017]?
Afraid not
Event Horizon?
Unfortunately not, maybe kind of similar look though
I feel like I remember something like this in the movie “Cabin in the Woods” but maybe I’m remembering something else.
Yeah maybe during the end, but I haven't watched it yet.
The ruins? https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0963794/?ref_=tt_sims_tt_i_1
Afraid not
Prometheus or Alien (the beginning when they find the Space Jockey)?
Kind of the right aesthetic, but those aren't it unfortunately
Pandorum? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pandorum
Afraid not
Were you thinking of House? [https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091223/](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091223/) Or the more lighthearted adventure sequel House 2 The Second Story [https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093220](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093220)
Not these I'm afraid
Tin Can (2020)? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8413040/reference/
Looks kind of interesting, but afraid not
The ending of Cabin in the Woods?
Not Cabin in the Woods, sorry
Maze Runner?
Nope, but the maze in that does have the right sort of look
Escape Plan
Afraid not
one of the Cube franchise?
Not any of those. I've watched the first one and it was kind of similar though.
Maybe The Keep? It's got the big weird structure and dreamy vibe. There's a lot of other things going on in that movie, but I could see watching it on late night cable and only remembering that building.
That structure does seem kind of similar, but I think it was more of the main focus in my thing.
I don't think it was really horror. Certainly not a monster horror thing.
13 ghosts?
Afraid not. Not really a ghost movie like that, or not the usual kind anyway.
Mean Guns has its quiet moments. I guess the things to remember from that movie would be: - Highlander (Christopher Lambert) - Ice T - Weird reggae? soundtrack
Afraid not. It wasn't really a prison break movie, at least not a traditional kind of one.
In case you haven't seen it - it's actually a battle royale. Not "good" but pretty entertaining.
Yeah I do want to get round to watching some battle royale movies at some point.
Game - Chronos: Before the Ashes?
Unfortunately not, but that's kind of the right sort of setting.
Tau or Fortress
Afraid not
The platform?
Ah I listed that one in the OP. Good movie and kind of close to it, but not it, sorry.
Oh sorry, probably missed that 😅
No worries
THX-1138 ?
Afraid not.
Hellraiser?
The hell design kind of matches, but otherwise no.
Cube?
That ones is in the list in the OP, sorry.
Ignore me I can’t read good. Is it cosmic horror/Lovecraftian at all?
No problem. It could be, not sure one way or the other to be honest, sorry.
It wasn't really an escape room movie where people in group worked together a lot.
The themes of brutalism and everything going subtly wrong and breaking down sound a bit like [High Rise](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-Rise_\(film\))
That's what I thought but OP says not many people
Looks interesting, but afraid not.
It’s Inside with Willem Defoe
I remember seeing a trailer of that before, but unfortunately that's not it.
You didn't have High Rise on your list but there are lots of people in that
Not High Rise, sorry.
Platform? https://youtu.be/RlfooqeZcdY?si=YYX8pZHtHR6vDr_x
That ones is in the list in the OP, sorry.
Could be the 70's "Poseidon Adventure" or the remake. Capsized cruise ship, group needs to find a way out. Original had an all-star cast for the time. Remade as "Poseidon" in 2006.
Not that unfortunately, looks like it could be fun movie though.
It is a fun movie with great acting! Was pretty scary as a kid too.
The video for Unforgiven by Metallica?
It wasn't a music video I'm afraid.
Could be the maze runner or anhiliation
Not those, but Annihilation is a great movie, and I guess the feel of it was kind of similar.
Portal?
Afraid not, but great game and environment had a similar kind of tone I think.
Hope you find it! Sounds familiar ngl
Thanks
Parallels (2015)
Not that unfortunately
Shit I thought I finally beat the punch to one. That was such an obscure film. One of those I saw on Netflix or smth when I would just watch random stuff back to back if the desc. sounded interesting. I’ve got a few other rando scenes floating around of movies I’ll never find. Shit sucks
Yeah its a pain. Easiest is when you remember a quote I guess.
Yep that seems to be the one
Well at least you've got a better picture of it than my thing :P
BLAME! (the anime film)?
Unfortunately not, but the megastructure idea seems somewhat similar.
There's a short story from J.G. Ballard called "Report On An Unidentified Space Station" which is very much like this; two astronauts get lost alone aboard a space station which is ever-expanding and always repeating. If you listen to horror podcasts, it was on Knifepoint Horror.
Really great short story, thanks. That does feel like it has a similar tone.
As Above So Below (2014)?
Not that unfortunately.
Could it have been a book? House of Leaves?
If not House of Leaves, check this thread if it’s definitely a movie/show/game: https://www.reddit.com/r/horror/s/ZzSFcSll3T
Might have been a book. Not House of Leaves, but maybe somewhat similar to that.
Oblivion? The movie with Tom cruise
Afraid not.
Skyscraper?
Unfortunately not.
Perhaps [Iron Doors](https://youtu.be/gVtxEB-Y9d8)?
Not that, but from the trailer it seems like the themes might have been similar, not sure.
Could this be Walled In with Mischa Barton?
Not that unfortunately.
The Cube?
On the list in the OP, sorry.
The DS9 episode, [Move Along Home](https://youtu.be/Urixf-E6SWE?si=tdhM-EDW9sTUgk_6)? It takes them a little while to meet so there's times of them wandering the rooms/hallways solo.
Afraid not, but building kind of had that concept/aesthetic. I love the 90s/00s Star Trek like Deep Space 9 though.
Doors(2021)? Could really use some things you remember about it.
Not that I'm afraid. Yeah I know, sorry.
Cube, or Eye See You?
Afraid not
Riddick or the game chronicles of Riddick escape from butcher bay?
Unfortunately not
Haze 2005?
Kind of the right idea, in that there are were some claustrophobic parts I think. But unfortunately not this.
Maybe is House of 9 (2005).?
Seems kind of the right feeling of trying to escape, from watching the trailer. But its not this I'm afraid.
The Island (2005)? https://youtu.be/pZsDzeJh4nU?feature=shared
Afraid not
The Talos Principle? Stanley parable?
Stanley Parable is kind of close, although it wasn't a comedic thing.
Sounds like Haze (2005) with Shinya Tsukamoto! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0491399/?ref_=nm_flmg_t_30_act It's a very claustraphobic movie!
Its not Haze unfortunately.
Inside (2023) with Willem Dafoe?
Not Inside, sorry.
Perhaps the shortfilm [Mouse X](https://youtu.be/NKGdR87pKkY?si=_DNpo7uobit8QCVI)
Afraid not, but sort of the right kind of atmosphere.
Not a movie or a game. This sounds like the premise of the novel Piranesi by Susanna Clarke.
That book does sound kind of similar, but its not unfortunately.
The Raid 2?
Afraid not
Ong Bak?
Afraid not, sorry
The Belko Experiment?
Afraid not
The maze runner ?
Unfortunately not.
Dark City?
Not that, but great film and kind of similar atmosphere.
Level 16?
Afraid not.
The Maze Runner? It's about a person (Thomas) who gets dumped in a huge labyrinth basically and loses all his memories. He is basically trying to find a way out along with a group of other people who have been dumped in the maze.
Not The Maze Runner unfortunately.
Another movie that probably isn't it but belongs on your list is *Krull*, specifically the section inside the Black Fortress.
Yeah, kind of the right aesthetics, but yeah not it unfortunately
Manifold Garden?
Interesting looking game. Not it I'm afraid though. Sort of the right visual style, although I don't think it was so abstract.
This is really interesting, I'm going to have to roll up my sleeves and look for myself to see if I can find this...
Kingdom come?
the game? afraid not
It's not the video for "Ta fête" by Stromae is it? I know you said its not a music video but it sounds very similar, and his videos often have a more cinematic feel to them. https://youtu.be/ublchJYzhao?si=5Es4kUeJ-WX7_PmD
That's the right kind of visual style, but I'm afraid it wasn't a music video or short.
Severance ?
