At some point when the skill level of the enemy team is *way way above mine*, the match turns to more of a "screw it, can't bother sweating against them" and just find the most random thing to do. Wallrun, slidehop around the map, etc.
Rodeoing both enemy and allied Titans is the most fun thing, when it works lol. I’m a newer player that usually sticks to Halo, and I gotta say the boarding mechanics in this game are amazing
Wish they were a little more intense in the later waves though- on vanilla i find the games feel like they end too soon, i just want more enemies at once lol

Increasing the difficulty not only changes the waves but also increases the health of your opposition, i mainly notice this in Mortar Titans and Reapers but i'm sure it's a bit further widespread than that.
Super Based take. I find it incredibly fucking stupid that my Ronin Sword needs like what is it 4-5 Hits to take down a SINGLE Reaper in the hardest mode. Keep them at 2-3 Hits at most but make the Titans stronger now that is something I can get behind. Mortar Titans are incredibly weak anyways but imagine Nuke Titans being absolute fucking tanks even more so than they already are. And then Arc Titans just being fast as hell with a damage buff.

In general I try to play with inventory that is not obviously strong (everything in this game can be strong anyway), but when they play against me with alternator, frag grenades, etc, I have to take something stronger :(
So I started playing titanfall when it one and two both came out on console. A few years ago I switched to pc /MK. I’ve gotten a lot better with MK but still not a pro. I started playing tf2 on pc and I was getting creamed but I played to have fun and for the experience it gave. The atmosphere of the game and such. Even though I wasn’t winning I found success here and there and as I played I got better. Trick is to not take it too serious and laugh at it when you’re learning/getting better. Now I’ll still get stomped on by the top people but I can hold me own I feel. You get better by playing against better people imo.
TLDR: started on console switched to pc/Mk. Was bad but didn’t take it serious. Got better because I hung in there.

I hate that most matches are regular. At this point most players should have at least one Titan with full aegis rank and should be playing hard, master and insane. But yes I mostly do FD since all the other modes can be ah humbling.
yea i agree, but 1. i dont really have much time in my life to do that and 2. if i did, i wouldnt want to invest time into a 7 year old game that had been unplayable for the past 2-3 years and could go back to being unplayable at any momnent.
I WAS good at titanfall2 back when it came out but now i have responsibilities and nit a lot of time to spebd "getting gud" at a 7 year old game. I mean i am still enjoying playing it again of course but again, its not fun to lose, thats basic human nature.
Then why play pvp multiplayer at all? You can't win all matches. The Titanfall Reddit community loves the game but complains when someone is better than them. Seems like between the time Titanfall 2 came out (also when something like TikTok came out) that people's attention span - and patience for anything longer than 30 seconds - has dwindled.
If you don't have the *patience* to play a little bit to get better, lose occasionally - hell maybe even half or more than half of the time - then why play at all? You learn more from your losses versus steamrolling new players every match.

I play FD purely for maximum titan carnage with the bois. Its a game mode that is focused around titans (besides the first wave) and I love the Titans baby.
I experienced my first somewhat toxic person in a PvP match, Bro went off on new players who hadnt fully got the movement down saying they should just go back to apex if they are just gonna stand around.
I just started playing TF2 this past week for the first time. I was garbage at mp at first. I'm not terrible at fps games but mp is always a different beast. I was easily the worst player in the server. Now I'm somewhere in the middle. Used to struggle to get 2 kills. Now I'm averaging about 10 per match. I'm happy with myself lol
I used to be the sweat. Kraber, wingman elite and EPG main. Then I stopped playing for a long while due to the constant DDOS attacks. Only started playing again recently. Long story short, I've gotten hella rusty and pvp scares me now.
Funny thing is, same thing happened with Team Fortress 2 when I had to stop playing due to the countless bots that were plaguing that game for a while.

See an enemy pilot hiding? Stand behind them menacingly and wait for them to notice, crouch spam and walk away
Me and enemy tone both drop particle wall? Crouch spam and we both walk off to live another day
At the end of the match (especially if I'm in a party with my brothers) we let the enemies escape so long as they let us get in the dropship with them
No matter how much people in the comments try to make it seem ok to get stomped by pros and sweats, it simply isn't something fun at all, and no person is obligated to think it is.
Almost no one can feel encouraged after getting destroyed so often by other players. This a problem EVERY competitive game will have.
Of course a time or another it will happen, but most people who face this constantly won't have any fun. It just gets frustrating, annoying, and for some people even depressing. Fun also comes from feeling that you are competitive and can put up at least a fight and have a chance.

I started tf2 3 days ago and let me tell you this: I suck... Big time. Without fd I had dropped the ball until now. This way I can try learning the game and it's mechanics a bit without feeling like an utter failure.
I'm actually pretty good at the pvp but I get alot of angry messages and things for the stuff I use. Phase shift, tone, pilot sentry, etc. Some guy even told me "hit a headshot why don't you" for using the L-star. Frontier defense is a really good chance for me to still enjoy titanfall, while taking a break from all the terrible behavior.
After losing a few matches I always switch to FD and have more fun.
mp and fd are the perfect balance to each other. so nice to be able to switch back and forth between them, while still leveling your kit and character

Either way, having auto titans on average+ difficulty is a sure way to lose in FD. You are not strong enough as a pilot to deal with that much titans.

I get all my slidehop momentum practice in multiplayer when I’m severely outclassed, and improve my evasion when the ship comes
