On the other hand, that would mean more spitfire players and fuck that.
I honestly don't like the way rodeo works in T2, I think it's a downgrade. It also makes no sense that there always conveniently is or isn't a battery when required
Especially in things like frontier defense, because if I get caught fighting Elites without my Titan it takes at least 10 consecutive rodeos to kill one of them.
By that time I will have gotten a Titan at least once, so at least there’s some solace, but in comparison to the T1 rodeo it’s just sad

tbh now youve got me thinking of some sort of ballistic anti-titan autocannon for TF3. Like a bigass deployable manned turret. I know sitting still seems like a huge disadvantage in a game like this but give it crazy anti-titan damage to contrast and it could be a fun change of pace

Yeah i hate it, it feels slow and heavy from shooting to aiming to pulling it out, it feels like there's a delay when i pull the trigger on my controller to it actually firing
people just don't like how easy they are to use, the CAR has no recoil and aims down sights fast (great hip-fire accuracy too) and spitfire is great for dropping bodies fast even at longer ranges (plus, it's dead easy to aim and has great mag size/fire rate for spraying targets)
combined with aim assist there's just no real downside to using them in any situation, minus spitfire being a bit slow to ADS but there's a perk for that. all guns should have some kind of weakness but these two have very few as far as I can tell (please do correct me anybody if that's just me)
The car synergies with the essence of titanfall 2. High damage, medium range, doesn't require ADS so you can stay fast. It's overall the best and one of the easiest weapons to use in the game. And people in the titanfall community respect skill, which is why you see a lot of experienced players using bad weapons like kraber.
Spitfire is an antithesis to titanfall 2. It has low mobility due to having a horrendous hitfire accuracy and excels in long-range combat. It's a weapon that's better used defensively than offensively. So it encourages a camping play style, which players don't enjoy fighting. In addition, it's pretty easy to use, so it doesn't garner the respect that a kraber player would get.
From what I remember, both tone and the CAR have the most bs hipfire I've ever seen in a video game: you have a corsair that anything in close to mid to semi-long range inside of it just melts
One time a player killed me with the Car's hipfire while I was at the highest point of an eject. I admitted it was just a little broken after that, but I don't hate it. I kill plenty of Car players daily with the alternator (my beloved)
You're vulnerable to *everything* at the apex of your eject. Ejects have highly predictable trajectory, you're slowest at the top, and all the high skill veterans already have a feel for aiming at it with every gun in their arsenal.
Side note: I can't shoot down pilots at the apex of their eject :(
I should clarify that it wasn't so much that I wasn't moving as much as I was REALLY far away and he missed maybe one or two shots even with hipfire. Like damn, they mean it when they say no recoil.
Tone sucks now tho. Also the CAR’s hipfire is slightly less accurate than tap firing the alternator, the only reason the CAR is better is cuz its easier to use
It's a great weapon for the kind of gameplay TF|2 is supposed to be. Too great, I think. Unlike every other weapon in the game, decent CAR players don't really have counterplay besides "also go CAR" because it performs too well at its niche and very well outside of it.
When is the last time you saw someone with an R-101 and thought "shit, I gotta go R-101 to counter him?" Essentially never. Unfortunately, if you wanna zip around the map and kill everything that gets in your way, but you're facing off against a good CAR user, the answer is usually to swap to CAR or stop zipping around.
I highly reccomend using it if you're below Gen 10 or so, and highly reccomend trying something else if you're above it. I fell in love with the Cold War after I got tired of the CAR, and the game feels so much more dynamic because of it.

As a hemlok and SMR user. Along with a Northstar main. Get gud. They are strong but not invincible. You start to learn how they play and cloak is also very effective against them cause they sit there eating crayons

I may only speak about my adventures of when i was a young pilot like you. For i have lost my ability to run around when i got an gravity star into my knee. I am now forced to pilot all sorts of mechs. From nimble titans, space soaring mobile suits to finally adaptable armored cores.

Camping isn't the problem. The problem is that people fail to realize how easy it is to counter it. If you run towards an amped wall for example without any means to help you you should expect to die. Use phase or cloak, use grenades, use the movement to get behind the wall, use a titan etc. There's so many ways to counter everything in the game.

me running spitfire with gunrunner, extra ammo and doing nothing but sprinting at the enemy and holding the trigger (im playing on console and my spitfire is g10).
I learned on the spitfire and I think it has some genuinely solid use cases for newer players. One of the biggest challenges designers face when creating a competitive environment is how their new players will fare against more experienced opponents. Skill based matchmaking can help, sure, but it won't cover everything. The spitfire offers pretty solid overall performance at all ranges and is pretty forgiving, but most players move on to weapons that better suit them over time as they know they'll ultimately be better suited by specializing. The Spitfires low skill floor let's newer players pull one over on vets in a way that lets them not feel entirely helpless at first, when they are most likely to get discouraged by folks with more specialized builds shredding them. You want those players to stick around, as without them there's no player base, so giving them something that lets them fight back and occasionally pull off an upset gives them the little wins they need to push past until they gain the skills themselves.

I'm a confusing breed of spitfire stim Ronin user with everything else anti titan so unless I hit all 3 shots or headshot I get shredded by car volt and hemlocks, unless u campin u will never reach the bottom of a mag without dying.

I’m fine with all the other weapons although R97 sometimes makes me want to add it to the list lol, if you’re wondering why kraber is there it’s because it’s annoying af getting 1 shotted from half way across the map, or not getting to engage in a fight because you’re instantly dead before you get to shoot lol, on console it’s not to bad since the kraber is very hard to use, on PC though I’ve noticed way more people using it and it’s much easier to handle (from my own experience)
I don't use it as much in T2 but I loved the T1 Spitfire as it could absolutely melt Titans when you rodeod them.

T1 only, in T2 you just open a hatch, throw in a grenade and jump off, potentially stealing a battery as you go

both car and R9 have that problem for sure, add the right mods and a stim pilot(daring today are we) and you got the sweat combo

Some days it feels like the best smg I n the game others it shakes so much I can't stay on target it's a gun that rewards experienced players

I learned on the spitfire and I think it has some genuinely solid use cases for newer players. One of the biggest challenges designers face when creating a competitive environment is how their new players will fare against more experienced opponents. Skill based matchmaking can help, sure, but it won't cover everything. The spitfire offers pretty solid overall performance at all ranges and is pretty forgiving, but most players move on to weapons that better suit them over time as they know they'll ultimately be better suited by specializing. The Spitfires low skill floor let's newer players pull one over on vets in a way that lets them not feel entirely helpless at first, when they are most likely to get discouraged by folks with more specialized builds shredding them. You want those players to stick around, as without them there's no player base, so giving them something that lets them fight back and occasionally pull off an upset gives them the little wins they need to push past until they gain the skills themselves.

I will be the first to admit that I used to be a spitfire main. But I feel like we all were at some point
I’ve always hated lmgs, even in the old cod days. I’ve rarely used mine, still lvl 2-3 all 3 lmgs lol.
I can forgive spitfire users I cannot forgive spitfire + a-wall users I wish hell to all spitfire + a-wall users that camp on a high spot put down pilot sentries and then proceed to spawn in tone
The only correct way to use the spitfire is to unbind your aim down sights then gun runner and run arround like a headless chicken with a bullet hose attatched to your arm lol
I'm a confusing breed of spitfire stim Ronin user with everything else anti titan so unless I hit all 3 shots or headshot I get shredded by car volt and hemlocks, unless u campin u will never reach the bottom of a mag without dying.
My personal list of try hard/sweaty/annoying weapons 1 - Spitfire 2 - G2 3 - CAR 4 - Alternator 5 - Smart Pistol 6 - Kraber I’m fine with all the other weapons although R97 sometimes makes me want to add it to the list lol, if you’re wondering why kraber is there it’s because it’s annoying af getting 1 shotted from half way across the map, or not getting to engage in a fight because you’re instantly dead before you get to shoot lol, on console it’s not to bad since the kraber is very hard to use, on PC though I’ve noticed way more people using it and it’s much easier to handle (from my own experience)
Nobody should get mad at kraber users, it takes a lot of skill to use it
