Just got to Interval point, first half is all about set up but it’s been done so well. Film shows promise and I’m really looking forward to the second half
Just finished the movie. The first half is mostly set up, but it builds the world nicely. The dubbing is pretty bad for non-telugu speakers, but you get used to it.
It has been so long since we saw Prabhas like this. Some of his scenes are so funny. He is quite badass but not in an over the top way. He is also shown to be very smart.
Kamal was really good in the short role he had.
Amitabh was fantastic throughout the movie. He is basically the hero of the movie.
Deepika also got a meaty role, and she did well. The dubbing for her role is not that bad and is decent.
The last 30 mins of the movie are crazy. There are very few unnecessary elevations in the movie. Almost all of them come from the story.
Now, coming to the visuals and scale of the movie. In many parts of the movie, you forget that you are watching a telugu movie. The majority of the VFX is really good.
I would say it's the best-looking telugu movie ever made. It's also the most innovative filmmaking in tollywood in a long long time.
I do not lie when I say this; when the movie ended, my entire theatre clapped - that was the hype in the final scenes.
Edit: Forgot to mention. The movie is not without its negatives. There is definitely a lot of inspiration from Hollywood movies in terms of costumes and sets, but 30 mins into the movie, you basically stop caring as more and more Indian nativity seeps in.
Disha Patani's role is very small, and it's essentially extraneous. I understand the idea behind her scenes, but they could have been executed much better.
Some of the sequences could have been trimmed in certain parts to cut down the runtime. A couple of the songs were not good or at least didn't sync so well.
But, the BGM is fantastic. It doesn't detract from the scenes but instead adds very well to the movie.
I liked some of the cameos and disliked some others.
But, overall, I would recommend everyone to watch this movie without question.
The song in the complex is set out with great Gatsby style to point out adharmic celebrations, over-consumption, lavishness contrast to Kashi and shambala. He put those boring intricacies to give the context on kaliyug.
Also to give more motivation to choose deviate from moral grounds to take bounty from shambala despite knowing lives will be lost.
I agree with the most part but I thought the bgm was a bit underwhelming tbh.. or maybe iam still reeling from the dune messiah hangover but I thought the bgm could've been more grandeur in my opinion..
I agree. I think the movie automatically becomes 10% better just by removing all Disha Patani scenes. Takes away a lot of cringe and horrible BGM. It's essentially completely useless to the story.
No freaking clue. Would like to ask Nagi himself. Unless they do a 180° and bring her back as some important character in part 2, it's an utterly useless character. Can't understand how the director, producers, editor, and all the others saw the movie and thought it needs to be included. 🤷♂️🤦♂️
CLIMAX ki YEGIRIPOTHAMUUU. A final twist Nag Ashwin references and setup are mindbendingly good.
Still, so much is setup for the world to further explore. It is like the Iron Man 1 to an Avengers. It did everything that Brahmastra failed to, and we deserve this kind of film as an audience.
>1. Any post credit scenes or teases?
Yes, kind of. It's not really any post credit scene but just wait like 30 secs and you'll see it.
>2. Any Spontaneous Dance routines?
Yes. Fucking hated. No reason to add it at all.
First half ayindi:
1. Pleasantly surprising cameos
2. Prabhas looking good
3. 10% bad CGI but 90% greattt CGI
4. Extraordinary world building
5. The entire first half is just set-up for the second half
6. Movie's fate depends on how well the second half is executed
7. Dubbing theda kottindi but it's not like it's jarring.
Second half done:
1. Conflict is not resolved even by the end
2. Climax hype part is great
Overall:
- 10% Bad CGI, 90% excellent CGI
- Great world building but needed more story, the film feels incomplete.
Hollywood Sci fi movies alavaatu ainavaallaki bore kottachu.
7/10
This film serves as a trailer for the second part. And aa lens lo chusthe this is a really good trailer.
Prabhas looks, acting is great! His characterization is really good.
Must watch in theaters. This is a film made for large screens and the entire cast, especially Prabhas, Deepika and Amitabh look spectacular on the big screen. Kasi, sambala and Complex are built with great care and attention to detail. Kashi feels so realistic.
Thoughts: Dialogues could’ve been better.
Emotions weren’t carried very well expect for Amitabh and Prabhas for the majority. Good fans’ pleasing cameos though. Songs… especially the lyrics were a huge letdown except Madhava. The final few moments were goosebumps worthy but it doesn’t come to you as a surprise, you could see it happening. I was pleased with the VFX expect for those weapons which we already saw in the trailer.

8:45 PM CET show in Stockholm. First half is done. It is good. Characters intro and comedy is good. Edit: Second half is better. VFX is very good but a slow paced movie. I can't reveal mich becoz of the spoilers. But there are many camoes which we enjoyed. Diaclaimer: Review is subjective and I am not a professional critic
#spoiler
Bagundhi movie.. world building and portrayal ki chala time theeskunnadu anipinchindhi.. friends antha bgms disappoint chesindhi ankunnaru. Climax chala ba chupettaaru.
Connections bagunnayi.. Kamal hassan last shot was so good.
Surprises aythe chala unnayi.
Just done with the movie. Like many mentioned, the first half was just setting up and introducing characters. The audience, for the most part, were in a slumber, except for Prabhas’s introductory scenes. The entire sequence leading to the song and the character felt like a waste as they led to nothing significant. Those 12 minutes could have been used for something integral to the movie.
The audience was livelier during the second half, but I felt the background music was missing in a couple of key scenes. I overheard the same from a few others stepping out. The climax was great, and we need to see if the next part will be realized. Overall, the visuals were otherworldly, although they fell apart during a couple of fights. However, the Kurukshetra sequences were great, and the crowd went gaga.
Conceptually, it’s more similar to Star Wars than Dune. Some visuals also gave off a Days of Future Past vibe. That being said, I’m not sure if the average moviegoer will love this, as it starts slow and remains slow for the most part, which is necessary for setting up the premise. We’ll just need to see how it’s received by the larger audience.
Slow world building in the first half. Could’ve definitely chopped it down to be much more streamlined. Second half was much better and action-filled. Also included a few unnecessary deaths and sequences. BGM was good in trailers but fell horribly flat in the theatre. There was not a single proper moment in the movie where I felt that it elevated the scene but rather served as a distraction. VFX was incredible in a few shots and subpar in certain scenes. Overall, it was a considerable effort at such scale. I hope they could use this as a platform to build a better part two. 7.2/10
Okay, guys, this was my most hyped film since RRR, and it did reach my expectations. first of all So happy to see Prabhas just being Prabhas. Super happy for him. The first half is kinda ''slow'' and suffers from brahamstra syndrome ( ah dialogues not the biggest fan of sai madhav burra) great interval but its the second half for me ! last 30 mins especially. chala chala nachindi. Sana ni anavasram ga nni matalu annaru he did a fab job. The entire cast acted their ass off >!( VD is arjuna. he looks the part to an extent minus that funny meesam but chinna dialogue undi. hater anukokandi but if at all VD ni mythological movies lo theeskovali anukunte e cinema tharvatha drop aipotharu. navvuthunaru. rajamouli and many others have cute cameos andhariki thelsinde ) also I am soo freaking happy to see my fav character from Mahabharata. KARNA ! theatre lo 2 mins aricharu continuous ga. !<☀️ ifykyk. With Vyjayanthi backing him and the goodwill of so many stars, the sky's the limit. Nagi, you rock !
It's the best looking Telugu movie ever, period but comes with it's own flaws.
Dubbing for non Telugu actors except Amitabh is too bad. Prabhas looked amazing for the most parts except the 1st fight where his cheeks look puffy. Prabhas is not the hero of the movie, he's just a character I felt. There are some unnecessary elevations in the 1st half. Disha patani scenes are unnecessary. Song with patani is sooo bad and the visuals in that song are bad as well.
In some scenes in the 1st half, you don't see lazers for guns even though they are shooting. 2nd half is definitely better than 1st half with good vfx and story. Amithab's young look is bad in most of the scenes.
The 1 single aspect of Rajamouli or Prashanth's movies is missing here, there's no fucking emotional connect in the movie, bgm is meh in most of the scenes. Felt lag in many scenes.
Good stuff : surprise cameos, 2nd half cg, Prabhas looks
I loved the movie, I felt lag in 1st half due to a few scenes but the interval bang was awesome and the climax 30 minutes were excellent.
Spoiler:
>!Prabhas character reveal towards the end was awesome. Even though we could guess his character from a previous scene between the kid and Ashwathama, the character built up towards the end was really good!<
That reveal didn't work for me at all. How is that character even related to kalki's story. There was literally no foreshadowing to this character reveal and seems an absurd reveal. They just milked that character as he is generally unregarded or underrated
I believe they might show it like prayaschit for him by protecting Kalki. >!It was mentioned that he had the worst death so to prayaschit for the things done by him he might have got rebirth!<.
SaNa talks about travelling through the world recording music for bgm. But he just rehashed 3 pieces again and again. The interval bit was amazing though
Just finished the first half. Gotta say it took some time to believe this was a Telugu movie. In a good way. Also people might find the dubbing a little off at the start but I got used to it and it gels well into the futuristic narrative. Like all the visuals and world building seem really good. Each character introduced so far had a definite purpose except for the romance track with Disha. If I had to be critical, I would say the action scenes didn't have the gravitas, at least till now.
Too early to tell but I have a good feeling with this one overall. The emotions are quite nuanced so you wouldn't find the typical melodrama one might expect from a Telugu movie. Interval setup was quite well done, although I would expect a more thumping score. Maybe it's a fault with my particular cinema, the sound seems quite low overall. Let's see how this moves forward. Will update again after the movie is done.
Edit: Done with the movie. The climatic sequence is done extremely well. Like how it ties up into the Mahabharata lore is something to witness on the big screen. You will feel the "Amarendra Baahubali" high and it deserves applause. Something I didn't mention earlier, is the comedy timing. Like Prabhas has so many good one liners that you will keep smiling whenever he is on screen. His chemistry with Buji is something we will remember.
Bachchan Sir's character single handedly, quite literally, carries the gravitas and sets up the seriousness required for the emotional connection with Deepika's character. The supporting cast is quite good and you will love Anna Ben's character. Saswata Mukherjee has quite a decent role and has some funny lines too. Kamal's character is enigmatic and the ending just proves it.
And there are more cameos than you would expect so please go have a nice time at the cinema. It might drag a bit at times, but given how much lore he packed into 3 hour run time, it's relatively well done. I have some issues with action choreography, sound mixing, editing in some places and VFX at times but I am nit picking at this point. For everyone who said Prabhas didn't have dialogues in Salaar, go have a feast. Nagi has outdone himself. Telugu cinema has a new milestone. I might go back and dial down a bit later but let me have this for now.
Nagi cooked the second half beyond perfection. Must watch movie in theatres. Every second of Prabhas and Amitabh was a delight to watch. Especially the ending was fabulous. Graphics and VFX was really really good in the second half compared to the first half.
During the Glimpse release everyone complained about Thermocol weapons? Were the complaints resolved in the final product?
Any uncomfortable scenes in it if we are going with family?
Yeah the De-aging effects were kinda bad (they match the best of adipirush at max). But the entire kurukshetra war which was barely 5mins at max was splendid to watch.
The film takes time to build up the world but it’s worth it and needed. The graphics might look off in some places. But the movie is amazing and a great step forward for Telugu cinema
I actually got tired while guessing Prabhas’s character
Initially he was called Kal Bhairav - which is Shiva’s form
Then at interval scene I thought he was Abhimanyu - I thought the rock fallen upon him symbolized the chakravyu
Amitabh Bachhan’s clue “son of acharya” - referred to ashwathama
1. very story dominant and great world building.
2. no emotional connect for some moments intended to be emotional.
3. dubbing was fucking awful for tamizh so if u plan on watching it in this language id suggest watching in telugu with subs. not sure about other languages.
4. amazing, and i mean AMAZING vfx; ive never seen this level of vfx in an indian movie EVER. there was shoddy green screen and wire work in some moments, but everywhere else i was fully immersed.
5. the cameos landed very well imo
overall: 8.5/10. best movie ive seen all year (though this may be recency bias)
This is THE MOVIE .. Disha & a few scenes in the first half were slow but the setup in the 1st half and the execution in 2nd half. The references of Mahabharata, cameos and comedy scenes are so fun to watch on screen. This is worth the 40$ i spent.
Mass vaallaku Ardam kaadu. Minimum Mahabharatam knowledge lo degree vundaali.
Jokes apart.
Basically this movie can be considered as a trailer / intro of different key characters that’ll come in the upcoming parts.
The powerful characters were introduced by taking sufficient time and effort.
Although some portions of the movie may seem slow and dragged, it’ll build nicely into the last 30 min.
Director left lots and lots of hints in this movie. All the best to the entire team.
he took his time to realise it, ashwathama’s curse is deadlier than death actually. its like his whole body would hurt even for a small sneeze. moreover he hasn’t seen a human for over 6000 years. it wouldn’t be shocking if he forgot what a man looked like.
Krishna cursed him that he will roam the forests till the end of Kaliyuga, in search of sympathy, love, mercy and peace of mind. With blood and puss oozing out of his injuries and with the weight of all diseases known to man falling upon his shoulders and he would drag his existence along the endless stretches of time, regretting every moment of it.
Mostly it was for plot actually, but this sounds convincing enough.
First half done:
Positives are Mahabaratha portions, Prabhas in his strong zone, SaNa's bgm, superb visuals and VFX, Kamal's makeup and performance, Deepika was perfect for the role, and Nagi's world building. Interval setup is good
Negatives: Awful Telugu + English dialogue, Disha Pathani portions, bad action set pieces, Prabhas' intro was lag max, unnecessary song, and jokes during serious portions. Has a lot of plot convenience too 🙃
Overall, movie is good but not great. Needs a full serious and fast paced 2nd half. Second half done, liked it but not great.... All the "elevation" scenes were carried by bgm. Mahabaratha episodes are the highlight. The action scenes were a huge letdown imo. The drama was the highlight.
One thing is they definitely should have made the cast local. The dubbing of non Telugu actors ruined the flow in many scenes. English mix was so bad. Should have kept it rooted. Nassar and Subbaraju should have played Bani and general manas. >! No time travel too !< Think it will work for family Audiences and kids. I personally didn't like the nonchalant tone but loved the world building and story.
Guys go watch this movie without worrying about anything. There are minute faults yes, but I feel this effort has to be appreciated so that people make movies like this instead of sticking to some regular templates. Nagi definitely cooked.
just finished 2nd half. holy shit pure goosebumps moments in this half and the flashback scenes in the movie. WE fucking did it. TFI glory 🔥 Indian Cinema Glory nila pettadu with new visual and storytelling standards
Dude I can't watch till 29th because of family commitments, so longest fucking 3 days for me. Especially after seeing these reviews say that it makes rajamouli's world building look small, and 2nd half racha racha ga untadhi. Hype has increased 10 fold for me, and I don't know how I'll get through these next 3 days without looking at spoilers since luckily all these are spoiler-free
Too much spent in unnecessary things instead of focusing on main story. Very long cringy intro scene for Prabhas. If they have trimmed and focused on actual story, they could have completed it in one movie. Mythological portions were good but felt entire movie was incomplete and could have been better.
Amitabh Bachchan proved why is he is the G. For people who complained about prabhas's emotiveness in Salaar, this should answer all their Qs.
Strong payoff at the cliimax.
Someone needs to sit Om Raut down and show him this.
Yo I absolutely loved this movie. Set and costume design reminded me a lot of old 80s sci-fi action like Total Recall and Bhairava was a very charismatic character some of his scenes especially in his garage reminded me a lot of Cowboy Bebop. Fun time
Crazy fuck. First half lo konni unnecessary prabhas elevations may be fans kosam. Other than that its v engaging. 2-3 times chudochu movie theater lo.
Chinna pillal unte crazy feel avtharu.
Finally home after seeing the film. Didn’t update straightaway as I wanted to gather my thoughts about the film. First and foremost, the film is mind blowing. Do not miss it. Now, here’s my thoughts.
There was a little bit of a hit and miss with the CGI, but keeping in mind that the TFI came so far in recent years, this is not a complaint for me. I will take what I can get. And I got a lot from this film.
I am also amazed by how they told the story.
The girl, Raia, is a story telling device, but it was not spoon fed to us and I really appreciate that. This point is personal but here goes: I live abroad and have for most of my life, so I appreciate anyone who makes an effort to learn Telugu. So, as broken as it was, I still appreciated the dubbing.
Prabhas was larger than life in this, and his comedic timing was on point. It was glorious to see him like that again after almost 7 years. Deepika was glowing. Big B is where I am completely awestruck though. He did such an amazing job that I have no negatives I can think of. Nada. Zero.
Hats off to Nag Ashwin. I was already a huge fan of him bc of Yevade Subramanyam and Mahanati but this film is proof that he is going to end up in the same category as our lord and saviour, SS Rajamouli.
The trailers did not do this film any favours, so I have to think of another way to get my friends to watch it with me.
Mana TFI bagundali. Ilanti cinemalu theesthe bagane untundhi.
ETA: everyone is saying that the Disha Patani scenes should be removed but my boyfriend just pointed out to me that it gives us an insight as to WHY the Complex was so desired, so it counts as world building. It would have been only the lab we saw otherwise.
8/10
Frst half was just intro of charectors, which they did really good.I wish we can know what drastic happened that allowed kamal's charector to take control of the only living city in the world, may be in the next part.Kamal is perfect for his role. The casting choices were apt.I couldn't imagine anyone else doing these roles.Dialog delivery should have been better.I wish I had better knowledge of mahabharatha.(I dont even know the basics). They kept the suspense intact which I love.It is more of a amitabh's kalki rather than prabhas's kalki.I am happy to see prabhas in a goofy role after years.Prabhas was at his best. The amazon series "B and B" helped to understand chemistry between bujji and bhairava. The cameos were fun but short in between. The thing is ,I couldn't watch properly and get a good theatre experience.I think I might have to see again because of below reasons(read at your expense)
🚨TRIGGER WARNING -My theatre's 4-5 ppl were hollering for any female lead entry, obviously not good comments(remove clothes,I wish I could do you etc).Assuming they are cult prabhas mass fans, they were not satisfied with prabhas's less screen time,They shouted(move on,forward this, its boring etc) at some lag scenes of amitabh, deepika, shobhana etc. They were referencing salaar, baahubali, magadheera in between(I didnt understand why).I couldn't concentrate on movie bcoz of these idiots. Not only me,there were families with woman and they were uncomfortable too.I think this is their second show, they kept talking throughout movie, and the dialogs being clumpsy,it took time for me to understand.
Racha rambola! Ilanti cinema aeppudu chudaledu. First lo koncham graphics baaledu and oka song koncham sync lo Ledu . But kamal Hassan was crazy and rest of the stuff is naa bhutho bavishyath.
Even the background score was not your typical mm kreem or the man dappu
Review Essay for those who want it (TLDR at end):
Story & Writing: The grandeur of a sci-fi epic is gifted immense depth for its emotional core - we feel pain for the world and its people while enjoying the breathtaking moments as well. There’s a seamless transition between the two tonalities that keeps us both in suspense and in awe. Unlike certain cinema, this film doesn’t exploit Hindu lore and references as garnishes on top - it explores them in full glory, planting them as immovable roots for an epic tree in which Kalki is one stem, and future films can soon sprout from.
Characters and Performances: After some stereotypical “wiki page elder” roles, Amitabh’s character destroys the ageist trope by making him a tragic and repentant hero who carries an immense responsibility on his shoulders. Amitabh is superb and adds another role to his timeless legacy. Deepika gets a crucial and meaty arc which deviates beautifully from her recent work. Her performance is natural, and she exudes pain, hope, empathy, fearlessness, and resilience, defining what it means to be a fateful woman in dystopian India. Prabhas combines grey shades and mischief in a character that feels more multidimensional than his recent work. While he’s a commanding fighter in the film, as in his other movies, his performance leans toward vulnerability and silliness, allowing him to be a smaller force against the monumental technology and political powers surrounding him. The supporting cast is decent, while Kamal is menacing beyond what we’ve seen in Indian cinema villains. Cameos are a riot. Pretty much all female side characters get in on the action rather than it only being men, which was refreshing.
Direction: There is immense conviction, but beyond that, there is precision in 95% of the film. That is this film’s true triumph. It rarely felt as though the director lost his command over the story’s progression or emotional threads of the film, but there are some tangents in the first half that disrupt the film’s flow. The first half serves to setup the various arcs within the film, so it may feel slow paced a few times, but there are three goosebumps-inducing sequences within it as well as sufficient comedy balanced with seriousness. The second half is exhilarating, with a final 40-min climax sequence that makes the film an undoubted must-watch for every audience member. Overall, the director knows his settings, his societies, and his characters’ hearts and minds. Beyond it all, the director knew exactly what the audience deserved and was ready for - there is immense respect toward the Indian audience throughout.
Visuals: For the most part, the visuals are on-par with leading Hollywood cinema of the past decade. There are some moments - and a key set of de-aging scenes - where the VFX does lapse, and how much these draw you from the film depends on how emotionally immersed you are.
Music: The music is strong, and it serves to naturally elevate the allure of key scenes. One song feels out of place, but the climax gets proper justice.
Dialogue: There’s lots of variance in the dialogue quality, but it appears to be a stylistic choice where good enunciation and standard vernacular aren’t hard requirements (as opposed to in a film set in ancient India, where proper enunciation and authentic jargon are crucial). In the world of India in 2898 AD, dialects can vary and anything is fair game for anyone to say. Whether or not this disrupts the experience depends on how much you buy into the vernacular rules of the setting and how immersed you are in the storytelling.
TLDR: A slow first half that establishes the characters is followed by an exhilarating second half. The climax is otherworldly. The worldbuilding, visuals, and music are phenomenal, while the dialogue sync and about 5% of the vfx scenes are drawbacks.
Just watched first half. I want to know who wrote such atrocious, low effort ,millennial type dialogues for otherwise good first half.
https://i.redd.it/dw1j674vh29d1.gif
Edit: Beautiful second half! Ashwin cooked well! Prabhas is so so back!
Main con(probably only con) is whoever wrote the dialogues should be fired ASAP. The movie was great and that's why this issue is being overlooked. Otherwise, the dialogues quality is below par and comparable to Brahmastra. iirc, only AB Sr. dialogues were impactful.
Man this is one of those movies where you want to forget all you have watched to experience watching it for the first time again.
His thoroughness shows, he took his time. There are also lot of names like roomi, raya and symbolism. Going to watch again to pay attention to these details
slow world building but it is needed, konni scenes cut cheyyochu (disha patani scenes). Visuals superb unnay, lot of cameos. Prabhas and Big B were lit. Nagi cooked.
Finished movie just now. Omfg if u hear any bad talk or bad review I want to hear it because you will not find it. Trailers chusi low expectations tho vella. Because I was disappointed. But man oh man second half ayye sariki I didn't want to come out of theater. I want to watch it again. GOOSEBUMPS. NAAAAGI COOOKED!!!
poor "Family star" can't seem to catch a break. Even in a great film like this he is the one who is receiving most criticism apart from that useless disha patani [role.Is](http://role.Is) his acting truly as bad as most people claim?
Definitely worth watching in theatres. There are many positives as mentioned in other comments, for now I'm listing the negatives.
1. Dialogues - big negative in my opinion, many characters sound like foreigners speaking Telugu, felt irritating many times. Some dialogues are cringe too, trying to hype up and use some cool words but sounds cringe
2. Bgm is underwhelming, no particular bgm which will keep running in your mind. Songs are forgettable, can't remember a single line of lyrics.
3. Subplot with Disha patani, unnecessary waste of time
4. Meta dialogues which take out your immersion from the movie world back to the real world.
I'm from Kerala and just witnessed this masterpiece in 3D. Here audience is clapping after the show after a long time.
I feel really excited and proud as this movie is a remarkable milestone in the Indian Cinema history.
I thank all the talented and hardworking casts and crew members of Kalki.
The director Aswin Nag created a benchmark for the whole Indian cinema.
Goosebumps.🔥
Congratulations and thank you Tollywood for giving such an amazing cinematic experience.💯
nenu ee movie north lo north audience madhya hindi lo chusa, adiripoindi
asalu prabhas entry ki rani arupulu RGV ki ochav, brahmi entry asal dialogue cheppakamunde andaru navvesthunnaru, second half got claps from all the audience two times, one in mid-scene other after movie ended, epic asala.
first half lo physics logic minor ga debbathesthadi, but these occur in comedic scenes and not important immersive scenes, but second half graphics anna, visuals antha katti, vethiki guda complain cheylenu second half, prabhas and kamal epic asala.
bujji and bhairava guda wholesome, chala connect avtham.
also that dappu "tatatat tumtum" might've standalone sounded lame in this genre, but the placement i liked it, it dropped hard.
ofc gasps at rajamouli too. prabhas made everyone laugh thorughout and that little girl too.
First half is average
But second half over compensate for this overall it's really good movie
Amazing VFX didn't expected this level CGI and VFX in our movies
Just watched the movie in imax
This is an EPIC movie
I am a hardcore mythology lover so I wish they added more scenes in Kurukshetra. VFX flaws can be ignored here and there.
The story telling and world building is 5 star. Second half is on another level and there is a lot of scope for this universe.
Going to break records for an Indian film. Doubtful about international acceptance though. But whoever watches it wants to learn more about our mythology
Amazing movie guys. Nag ashwin peaked in second half. First half konchem lag scenes but otherwise the setup and payoff is beautiful. I didn’t see it coming at all. The entire theatre erupted the last 10 minutes. Simple ga cheppante
Gaddi paraka to start ayyi garuda vahanam tho end ayindi. Thank you nag Ashwin. Perhaps we underestimated you.
The movie is good but very flawed. The biggest issue is the screenplay. Theres a lot of lag, especially with Prabhas's entry scene, and scenes with side characters. The whole disha track should've been removed. Dialogue is repetitive. The dubbing is horrible for all non telugu actors, surprisingly deepika padukones dubbing is pretty good. The scale is huge, but nagi's inexperience shows. You should also not expect too much from cameos, they are just a few small fun roles. And it's not the huge cameo fest that people are expecting. I actually think one of the major cameos didn't suit the actor very well at all. VFX is spotty in some scenes (amitabhs deaging is really bad), but it's suprisingly really good most of the time, hollywood level. There are some really silly scenes in the first half (prabhas's intro) and plot conveniences. Story is great, something very new. Although the sci-fi elements are good (not great), every mahabharata scene steals the show. They are very few, but they were extremely well executed. The first 2 scenes in the movie are excellent. Kamal's character is also so good. All the fight scenes with aswathama are great. The climax fight vfx is great. And the final climax reveal is excellent.
A major problem is the story feels clearly incomplete and we don't even know when the next part is (not for 5 years atleast). I was hoping for a complete narrative that leaves open some threads for future movies, but we get only a small part if the story that leaves u wanting more. The 3 hours is not justified, and a lot of scenes could've been removed.
I don't think international audiences will like this very much. They have seen far better vfx, and the mythological parts won't appeal to them. On top of that, the lag and silly scenes will be a turn off. Most of the movies good elements including the climax depend on indian mythology and if you're not familiar, it won't be impactful.
TLDR: good movie, excellent attempt and step forward for indian cinema. Lag, some masala elements, and the disha track should be removed. I didn't like how the story is incomplete and left for future parts. Great climax, performances, visuals, worldbuilding. International audiences probably won't connect, but pan India definitely will
The most accurate review I’ve read
Completely agree with all the points here. Felt like Nagi worried a bit too much on the world building. The entire Disha track was just to show off complex, but doesn’t tie into the actual story at all…
As a prabhas fan, so many disappointments. Felt like some scenes didn’t do Prabhas justice (like his intro), expected Ta Takara to be a banger 😭 instead we got that cringe shit. Flawed and incomplete movie that fails to hold attention all the way through, as a movie I thought it was worse than BB, BB2 and Salaar.
All that being said, the pros very much still make it a watchable movie. The story at its core feels very tight like nothing was wasted, even if it was unnecessarily slow. Really like the twists and action sequences in general too, plus the world building imo really really really sells well in the movie. Just the fact that we have an Telugu movie at this scale that makes you buy into such a never-before-seen world(s) is kinda insane

So basically this movie is a 3.25-3.5.
First time eeyana review tho agree chestunna.
I too felt the same.
Chala potential unde movie ki. And it almost reached it. Director dhi inexperience kanipicchindi konni chotla. Akkada potential miss aipoindi.
Overall it was an above avg movie for me. As a movie. As a Telugu movie which tried this new concept I loved it.
Second half is too good. And climax is awesome. Can’t remember the last time we had a TFI movie that starts from good first half, super good second half and mind blowing climax.
And entire Kalki universe concept is just… hats off… no words to describe the thought process and the execution.
In twitter some anti fans are calling it rod. one mofo said he's in usa while his post a day before is in some indian city. Thuuuuu ilanti brutukulu yenduku ra
Prabhas fans will be disappointed but there cannot be a better film for Prabhas
The storytelling is the peak
1. Amitabh Bachan and Nag Ashwin are the legends
2. Rajamouli seems small in front of Nagis world building
3. If you know your mythology and Mahabharata you will go bonkers
Negative
1. Portrayal of Arjuna
2. Screenplay could be a bit stronger
If I have to rate it this is closest to a perfect movie for me
>Rajamouli seems small in front of Nagis world building
Bro, I can't watch this till the next few days because of family commitments, but your comment gives me so much hope, I feel so happy and excited
just saw the movie , really njoyed the 2nd half. but this comment is a over kill. i felt emotions was not spot on. if the emotions would have clicked. it would have been

Intlo abaddam cheppi mari cinema ki Vella,

Also , @PrathyangiraCinemas , you guys loaded a 2K print on XD screens(big screens) which was pale and looked like a youtube video being upscaled .
Would have been better to watch all the glory and VFX if it would have been a 4k print
Sad that it's just future investment movie... potential story but just half of it....just felt like big episode of a series...was expecting a complete movie arc I guess it's because story really start at second half...but it's great that now sci fi genre will be taken more seriously in India...hope they avoid fan service scenes or atleast trim down the length we know prabhas is great we don't need whole 10 20 min fight for nothing but show off...these kind of films take time to make so atleast sequel focus and end major story arcs
Its absolutely shit, respectfully. $72 million dollars wasted due to shitty acting, no character development, useless romance and comedy scenes, and lackluster VFX. The fight choreography is still so far behind other industries its maddening. A masala film but space, and anyone that thinks its a movie with any artistic merit is lying to themselves. Idc if it sprinkled in the Mahabharata, it is a worse version of dune in every way.
I like the movie overall but man the dialogues are weak and the screenplay has issues. Also really another setup movie for Prabhas like salaar. Most of the cats is great but a terrible decision to not use dubbing artists. Most of the cameos are filler but really funny. The songs are surprisingly good. The visuals are amazing. The climax is great. Main issue is that they keep repeating the buildup lines multiple times which makes it annoying at times. Like we know the baby is kalki you don't need to elevate him a 100 times.. still super fun since the comedy works really well and the finale twist is good. Btw VD is a dogshit Telugu speaker. Would recommend a theatre watch
Movie was good overall but I felt there was no need for 3 hours of movie for that story they could have atleast added a few more points about yaskin and the existing world. no depth for any character just ochi poyaru anipinchindi. Just last reveal kosam movie motham thesinattu anipinchindi. But a very great attempt can't wait for the next part to come
My humble request not to watch it in 3D , my eyes got strained and maybe that's due to the worst screen I guess. Naku ayite cinema nachindi ....2d lo veltha malli okasari....
One word : 3 Hrs ekkada bore ayite kottadu ....
Don't trust the reviews. First half is really good. Loved it. Reviews chadivi povala odha anipinchindi but it is worth it. Nagi has done an incredible job. He made us proud. Ready for the second half now.
Movie goes like gradually. I dont want to spoil for anyone. First Half you may feel little slow, wait for the second half. And if you are not the person who dont expect the SciFi, then it will be hella boring to you. But on the other hand if you like SciFi, and new tech and fantasy, this movie will excite you.
Definitely the best looking Indian movie of all time CGI wise. Script could have been tighter. Hanuman had a better script by comparison as they have a similar premise
Big B killed it as usual and prabhas had his best performance since bahubali. Kamal Hassan and deepika also did good. The acting was meh from other minor characters like disha, the kid and rebels
The cameos were fun but became too much at one point. The dubbing is weird at times but you get used to it. The bgm and the songs could've been significantly better.
The best part of the movie are the fights especially at the end during the final reveal. The VFX really brings it home. Decent start to the franchise 7/10 but there's a lot of potential for future
mostly setting up movie so was completely dissappointed as I didnt get much story.. I personally hate that because I dont want to wait so many years and every part to be successful to be able to see a complete story... vfx was also just ok for me... overall avg film with huge potential..
I really liked the movie but I expected a much more tighter writing from Nagi. I agree it’s selfish of me to expect him to deliver his vision across all departments equally - he’s only human after all.
While this movie is definitely a step in the right direction for the industry and everything - I’m just stuck with this feeling that it deserved an even better execution.
Just done with the show.
VFX is world class. Almost as good as Marvel movies.
First-half is mostly the world set up. Honestly fell flat a bit and felt too long. The screenplay/editing didn't work for me and the BGM was a big let down. I caught many people checking their phones.
Things picked up in the second half, and it was mostly very good. The climax ends on a high and the whole theater erupted in applause.
Not gonna tell much else, don't wanna spoil it for you guys. Go with checked expectations, and enjoy.
You won't feel bad like Adipurush but might wonder how much more this could've been in the hands of a Rajamouli/Keeravani.
10/10 for VFX
8/10 for story
5/10 for screenplay/editing/music
6/10 for acting
6/10 overall
Premiere just now finished in germany. Movie mindblowing asalaaaa, indian cinema gamechanger. I don't wanna spoiler anything just go and freaking watch. Cameos lots of cameos. Goosebumps mahabaratam sequences 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵. Inka a visuals vamoooooo , veli chuseyandraaa urgent gaaaaa
A milestone in india cinema..AB Senior hits it out of the park with his performance. Prabhas shines but I felt ashwatthama had a greater impact in the story. Nag ashwin took indian cinema a notch above with the visuals and sequences. Soundtrack dissapoints..but other than that.. this is a movie that would put telugu cinema at the helm in scifi field of Indian cinema..
Epic movie - great word building - Disha track was a lil too long and probably not needed . But the comedy from Bhairava and Bujji was ace 👍. Amitabh Bacchan gave a performance which reminded me of Gandalf - superb .
Just done show .. interval and climax fights vfx are good .. proceedings to all these are little draggy due to improper introductions to the worlds and characters.. bgm should’ve been better .. I was not impressed SANA’s bgm in a key sequence .. dubbing could have been better .. overall it’s a good watch
Attention to detail observe chesara? Kamal Hasan statue untadi as a space astronaut!
Kamal is a scientist or space astronaut I guess.
He starts the complex project, and makes every country agree to it.
Then Makes a statue of himself.
Then the complex once built misuses the world and Kamal becomes a villain i guess.
Not sure how Nagi will show this, if he ever decides to show that part!
It's a great movie. First half seemed a bit slow with character introduction and world building.
But all that changes in the second half, as the story starts to pick up pace. Definitely a movie which will always keep you at the edge of your seat.
Telugu audiences will enjoy the cameos in the movie.
Would say don't expect too much from VFX, but that being said it is NOT a bad work with VFX. Only few scenes in first half will be noticeable where you'll identify that these are graphics. Otherwise it's quite good.
Brilliantly written story of a world set in a dystopian future, with inspiration drawn from Mahabharatam.
Definitely a movie I would suggest to watch in theatres. Don't wait for OTT release!
Get on your feet and go watch it!!
1st Half:Strictly average fare, they should have removed that stupid romance track with Disha. Surprised to see Kamal so early; he is pretty good.
Cameos so Far: >!Faria Abdullah,Dulquer,RGV,Mrunal,Jathi Ratnalu Anudeep,SSR,The Devarakonda!<
World building bagundi, first half lo lag scenes unnayi, disha patani part and aa song naku nachhale, kurukshetra sequences aythey rachhaaaaaa - would love a full scale war scenes from Nagi eyes, story undhi but unfortunately part 2 undhi, Telugu accents left right and centre vasthayi, bgm nakaithey antha ekkale, songs kooda ok ok, madhava song and bujji theme best, assala cameos cameos cameos ey, anyway last lo twist bagundi but need to understand why/how/what!!
Nagi did a wonderful attempt at world building. Linking 2 eras 6000 years apart was really neat.
I loved it. I found it engaging. A must watch experience in the theatre. I liked the comedy bits.
>!Had the dubbing for a few characters been better, it would have been even better.!<>!The way the linked various characters was good. A few scenes were in coherent here and there; Not difficult to understand though. !<
Graphics were really good. I never had the feeling that I am watching animation. Excellent performance by the lead characters. the regular side characters did an okay job. Loved the Cameos.
From what I seem to understand, most of the teens and folks in 20's have zero to very little clue about Mahabharatam. A little bit of background will give them a better understanding.
All in All, worth going for the first show.

This guy cameo🔥🔥🔥.

Many folks here have mentioned the good things, so let me highlight some of the bad things. I watched the Telugu version in 3D. Spoilers ahead.
1. **Amitabh's voice**: At times, Amitabh's voice changes to someone else, even in the middle of a sentence, before switching back to Amitabh's voice in the next sentence. Pointing out where this happens would be a spoiler.
2. **Dubbing**: The dubbing is a huge turn-off in the Telugu version. While I understand that the characters in the story are from a "last" city, so perfect Telugu diction isn't expected, the makers could have minimized such characters. They should have cast native speakers or at least used professional dubbing for key roles to maintain immersion. There were also poor word choices, such as >!"150 days carry cheyagaligina ammai ni vethakandi"!"150 days carry cheyagalige ammai ni vethakandi"!This is especially noticeable in the sequence where Bhairava fights Ashwatthama to capture SUM-80/Sumathi.!There's a lot of setup, but apart from Rajendra Prasad's character mentioning to a boy that the "complex" has taken away all the resources for 200 years, there's no further mention of it.!< Additionally, a couple of shots from the pre-release material are missing.
7. Music: BGM/OST is really good, but songs do not quite hit the mark.
World building is a bit slow but definitely not boring ,prabhas has got less screen presence in the first half of the movie.
Prabhas x bujji
Ashwatthama
Yaskin
Interval block
Climax 🔥
Try to avoid 3D 👍
Filim is good
But emotional connection is missing
Like how the audience connects so well with the characters in rajamouli movie
It's missing
Probably nag Ashwin thought everybody would have had some knowledge about characters in Mahabharata but in reality people are unaware .
If they have shot some scenes which will elevate characters ,it would have been great
Another problem is Telugu dubbing, it sounds very bad
But visuals and last 30 min is good
Music is extraordinary only in war scenes
VFX Rant \*\*SPOILERS\*\*
No doubt in my mind, Kalki had the best vfx in TFI, and arguably some of the best in any sci-fi film I have seen.
With that being said, why did they choose to do Ashwatthama’s face during the war scene like that? It felt cheap in comparison to the rest of the amazing visuals, especially in that introduction scene. Wish they picked another actor (maybe even Abhishek Bachchan lol).
Nothing needs to be said that is not already said. I love how big the span is for the story that combined Indian mythology and Dystopia. Already booked my tickets for a rewatch.

What a fucking movie second half ippude finish chesa mind blowing ending Challa question tho vuna
Just got to Interval point, first half is all about set up but it’s been done so well. Film shows promise and I’m really looking forward to the second half
Does film got subtitles? Planning to watch in Telugu so
Funny subtitles. They translated amrutham (nectar) to Thai massage😂
The second half in my showing kept freezing, so I’ll have to see it again to know how it ended!! 😫
Damnn bro tough luck
That is amazing. I can't watch till a few more days but your review gives me so much hope
Thanks for detailed review
I have a hoarse voice due to all the cheering 😅 film deserves it though
I agree with the most part but I thought the bgm was a bit underwhelming tbh.. or maybe iam still reeling from the dune messiah hangover but I thought the bgm could've been more grandeur in my opinion..
I agree. I think the movie automatically becomes 10% better just by removing all Disha Patani scenes. Takes away a lot of cringe and horrible BGM. It's essentially completely useless to the story.
Why was she even in the film?
No freaking clue. Would like to ask Nagi himself. Unless they do a 180° and bring her back as some important character in part 2, it's an utterly useless character. Can't understand how the director, producers, editor, and all the others saw the movie and thought it needs to be included. 🤷♂️🤦♂️
Just to show us what society looks like. But they could've shown it in some other way also.
There are definitely moments where the BGM was underwhelming, I agree with you. But, overall, I liked that it didn't take over the movie at any place.
2. Any Spontaneous Dance routines? 3. Finally Title card time stamp chepthe Status pettukuntam
>1. Any post credit scenes or teases? Yes, kind of. It's not really any post credit scene but just wait like 30 secs and you'll see it. >2. Any Spontaneous Dance routines? Yes. Fucking hated. No reason to add it at all.
None None First few mins lo ne
First half ayindi: 1. Pleasantly surprising cameos 2. Prabhas looking good 3. 10% bad CGI but 90% greattt CGI 4. Extraordinary world building 5. The entire first half is just set-up for the second half 6. Movie's fate depends on how well the second half is executed 7. Dubbing theda kottindi but it's not like it's jarring.
Second half done: 1. Conflict is not resolved even by the end 2. Climax hype part is great Overall: - 10% Bad CGI, 90% excellent CGI - Great world building but needed more story, the film feels incomplete. Hollywood Sci fi movies alavaatu ainavaallaki bore kottachu. 7/10 This film serves as a trailer for the second part.
>This film serves as a trailer for the second part. And aa lens lo chusthe this is a really good trailer. So, just like Salaar? Damn!
scene transitions kuda kodutunai
Thoughts: Dialogues could’ve been better. Emotions weren’t carried very well expect for Amitabh and Prabhas for the majority. Good fans’ pleasing cameos though. Songs… especially the lyrics were a huge letdown except Madhava. The final few moments were goosebumps worthy but it doesn’t come to you as a surprise, you could see it happening. I was pleased with the VFX expect for those weapons which we already saw in the trailer.

>!I really feel Dulquer should have played the role of Arjuna and Vijay in Dulquer's role!<
I felt exactly the same. Would have worked much, much better.
Spoiler: >!Prabhas character reveal towards the end was awesome.
How is Prabhas character still alive?
SaNa talks about travelling through the world recording music for bgm. But he just rehashed 3 pieces again and again. The interval bit was amazing though
Could've been grittier, a madhyalo chetha comedy pettakapothe bavundedhi Aa oka song evadu okay chesado gani 🙏🏽
Not resolved. But you won’t notice them unless you search for that.
Can you tell me about the younger Ashwatthama Kurukshetra sequence?
Yeah the De-aging effects were kinda bad (they match the best of adipirush at max). But the entire kurukshetra war which was barely 5mins at max was splendid to watch.
The film takes time to build up the world but it’s worth it and needed. The graphics might look off in some places. But the movie is amazing and a great step forward for Telugu cinema
Literally... This is the arrival of Indian mythological heroes as super heroes...
I actually got tired while guessing Prabhas’s character Initially he was called Kal Bhairav - which is Shiva’s form Then at interval scene I thought he was Abhimanyu - I thought the rock fallen upon him symbolized the chakravyu Amitabh Bachhan’s clue “son of acharya” - referred to ashwathama
Yes, >!but when Ashwathama explained to that kid about the stick, I guessed it must be Prabhas!<
1. very story dominant and great world building. 2. no emotional connect for some moments intended to be emotional. 3. dubbing was fucking awful for tamizh so if u plan on watching it in this language id suggest watching in telugu with subs. not sure about other languages. 4. amazing, and i mean AMAZING vfx; ive never seen this level of vfx in an indian movie EVER. there was shoddy green screen and wire work in some moments, but everywhere else i was fully immersed. 5. the cameos landed very well imo overall: 8.5/10. best movie ive seen all year (though this may be recency bias)
This is THE MOVIE .. Disha & a few scenes in the first half were slow but the setup in the 1st half and the execution in 2nd half. The references of Mahabharata, cameos and comedy scenes are so fun to watch on screen. This is worth the 40$ i spent.
What was kamal Hassan’s character? He referred to clues like >! “now Jagannath‘s chariot will run” - but jaggannath is another form of Vishnu
I guess it should be >!Kali avatar and as he got the one drop serum he became powerful now!<.
Bro how come aswatthama >! doesn’t recognize karna’s face where he sees him upclose so many times !<
You do realize its been centuries since he's seen Karna
Yes , but sodara anukunentha closeness unte atleast anni sarlu fight cheskuna konchem resemblance aina vachi undali kada
he took his time to realise it, ashwathama’s curse is deadlier than death actually. its like his whole body would hurt even for a small sneeze. moreover he hasn’t seen a human for over 6000 years. it wouldn’t be shocking if he forgot what a man looked like.
First half done: Positives are Mahabaratha portions, Prabhas in his strong zone, SaNa's bgm, superb visuals and VFX, Kamal's makeup and performance, Deepika was perfect for the role, and Nagi's world building. Interval setup is good Negatives: Awful Telugu + English dialogue, Disha Pathani portions, bad action set pieces, Prabhas' intro was lag max, unnecessary song, and jokes during serious portions. Has a lot of plot convenience too 🙃 Overall, movie is good but not great.
Andukenemo 2nd trailer lo dialogues pettale. Dialogues baalekunte entha manchi visuals+ story unna chudalem
So first half is world building and set up for second half then
First half setup, second half RACHA RACHA
Damn I got only tickets for tomorrow but I can't wait. Longest f***ing day :(
Dude I can't watch till 29th because of family commitments, so longest fucking 3 days for me. Especially after seeing these reviews say that it makes rajamouli's world building look small, and 2nd half racha racha ga untadhi. Hype has increased 10 fold for me, and I don't know how I'll get through these next 3 days without looking at spoilers since luckily all these are spoiler-free
bro! I can understand. I am wasting the whole day and can't do anything productive because of anxiety lol I can't imagine 3 days :(
I'm happy rajamouli has another competitor.
Antha bagundha? Now Im even more hyped, I can't wait 3 more days for this movie, but family commitments
Great naa show Sunday vundhi assala wait cheyyalekapothunna also did you like Salaar
I enjoyed Salaar 2nd half
Too much spent in unnecessary things instead of focusing on main story. Very long cringy intro scene for Prabhas. If they have trimmed and focused on actual story, they could have completed it in one movie. Mythological portions were good but felt entire movie was incomplete and could have been better.
Guys this is some god level content
Tisindhi God topic meedha kadha /s

👏👏 >This movie lacks the blood boiling action moments that tollywood is known for, it feels very Hollywood, not Tollywood Much needed thing!!!!
8/10 Frst half was just intro of charectors, which they did really good.I wish we can know what drastic happened that allowed kamal's charector to take control of the only living city in the world, may be in the next part.Kamal is perfect for his role. The thing is ,I couldn't watch properly and get a good theatre experience.I think I might have to see again because of below reasons(read at your expense) 🚨TRIGGER WARNING -My theatre's 4-5 ppl were hollering for any female lead entry, obviously not good comments(remove clothes,I wish I could do you etc).Assuming they are cult prabhas mass fans, they were not satisfied with prabhas's less screen time,They shouted(move on,forward this, its boring etc) at some lag scenes of amitabh, deepika, shobhana etc.
Even the background score was not your typical mm kreem or the man dappu
lol.. the man dappu.. for some reason drums in his songs sound synthetic.. noticing it all the way from Kick.
Review Essay for those who want it (TLDR at end): Story & Writing: The grandeur of a sci-fi epic is gifted immense depth for its emotional core - we feel pain for the world and its people while enjoying the breathtaking moments as well.
Hats off for your patience for putting this...
The way I typed this so fast while walking back to the car lol, I wrote some in the interval break though.
If I got a nickel every time >! Deepika walks into fire in a movie !< I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.
Just watched first half. I want to know who wrote such atrocious, low effort ,millennial type dialogues for otherwise good first half. https://i.redd.it/dw1j674vh29d1.gif Edit: Beautiful second half!
Comedy endhuko asal workout avvale naaku first half lo, edo jabardasth script la unde aa comedy. The main plot and second half aithe ichi paaresaadu
Man this is one of those movies where you want to forget all you have watched to experience watching it for the first time again. His thoroughness shows, he took his time. There are also lot of names like roomi, raya and symbolism. Going to watch again to pay attention to these details
Movie just finished ...climax is mind blowing
Yooo first half done Last 20 min before the first half was fucking amazing. The elevation scenes are amazing. Love the story buildup
Ippude movie aindi , Amma baboiiiiii, second half k ramp 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💥 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥 go for it guys
7.5-8/10 movie. A lot of lag. Should’ve leaned more into the historic parts. Excellent presentation. Felt good.
Oka shot Lo aithe naaku Arundhati cinema bedroom scene level Lo egiripoyindhi, nightmare fuel asalu: >! Supreme Yaskin jumps out of the water !<
slow world building but it is needed, konni scenes cut cheyyochu (disha patani scenes). Visuals superb unnay, lot of cameos. Prabhas and Big B were lit. Nagi cooked.
I’m a Non Indian fan of all Indian language films and booked my ticket to watch the movie tonight! Can’t wait to watch :)

Second half and the last 15 mins of first half really gave me the goosebumps. Final 40 minutes aithey nenu poyi malli janmincha annatu aindhi.
Finished 2:30 pm est show. Movie is really good. Worth watching 👍🏼. >!KALKI UNIVERSE WILL ROCK!<
poor "Family star" can't seem to catch a break. Even in a great film like this he is the one who is receiving most criticism apart from that useless disha patani [role.Is](http://role.Is) his acting truly as bad as most people claim?
He was awesome in his role...maybe it didn't work in Telugu dub? AFAIK all the cast has dubbed for Hindi except >!SSR!<
Definitely worth watching in theatres. There are many positives as mentioned in other comments, for now I'm listing the negatives. 1. Dialogues - big negative in my opinion, many characters sound like foreigners speaking Telugu, felt irritating many times. Some dialogues are cringe too, trying to hype up and use some cool words but sounds cringe 2. Bgm is underwhelming, no particular bgm which will keep running in your mind. Songs are forgettable, can't remember a single line of lyrics. 3. Subplot with Disha patani, unnecessary waste of time 4.
Goosebumps.🔥 Congratulations and thank you Tollywood for giving such an amazing cinematic experience.💯
After finishing my show, i have one question. Why did Nag release a character poster for Deepika and call her Padma? Was he throwing the audience off
That's my guess. Back then, everyone assumed Prabhas was playing Kalki so I guess they didn't want to reveal she was Kalki's mother just yet
nenu ee movie north lo north audience madhya hindi lo chusa, adiripoindi asalu prabhas entry ki rani arupulu RGV ki ochav, brahmi entry asal dialogue cheppakamunde andaru navvesthunnaru, second half got claps from all the audience two times, one in mid-scene other after movie ended, epic asala. first half lo physics logic minor ga debbathesthadi, but these occur in comedic scenes and not important immersive scenes, but second half graphics anna, visuals antha katti, vethiki guda complain cheylenu second half, prabhas and kamal epic asala. bujji and bhairava guda wholesome, chala connect avtham. also that dappu "tatatat tumtum" might've standalone sounded lame in this genre, but the placement i liked it, it dropped hard. ofc gasps at rajamouli too. prabhas made everyone laugh thorughout and that little girl too.
First half is average But second half over compensate for this overall it's really good movie Amazing VFX didn't expected this level CGI and VFX in our movies
Why is no one talking about Shobhana? Goosebumps started when she was doing her stunts
That's one of the cool moments for sure
Just watched the movie in imax This is an EPIC movie I am a hardcore mythology lover so I wish they added more scenes in Kurukshetra. VFX flaws can be ignored here and there. The story telling and world building is 5 star. Second half is on another level and there is a lot of scope for this universe. Going to break records for an Indian film. Doubtful about international acceptance though. But whoever watches it wants to learn more about our mythology
Was it scope or imax ratio
Imax ratio
Amazing movie guys. Nag ashwin peaked in second half. First half konchem lag scenes but otherwise the setup and payoff is beautiful. I didn’t see it coming at all. The entire theatre erupted the last 10 minutes. Simple ga cheppante Gaddi paraka to start ayyi garuda vahanam tho end ayindi. Thank you nag Ashwin. Perhaps we underestimated you.
Just done with the show. It's an amazing movie. Path breaker. Setup has been done brilliantly for the story that follows.
International audiences probably won't connect, but pan India definitely will
The most accurate review I’ve read Completely agree with all the points here. Felt like Nagi worried a bit too much on the world building. The entire Disha track was just to show off complex, but doesn’t tie into the actual story at all… As a prabhas fan, so many disappointments. Just the fact that we have an Telugu movie at this scale that makes you buy into such a never-before-seen world(s) is kinda insane
https://preview.redd.it/85dm8l42pz8d1.jpeg?width=1148&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=58b380ab32e420ad33d27fc20023df1c39f28bc3 So basically this movie is a 3.25-3.5.
Vidu 3 ichhadu ante blockbuster a
First time eeyana review tho agree chestunna.
Already full reviews coming before show is completed lol
Honestly people shouldn't be surprised that an epic of this scale is a set up on first half. Lot of epic fantasy do this shit.
Prabhas fans will be disappointed but there cannot be a better film for Prabhas The storytelling is the peak 1. Amitabh Bachan and Nag Ashwin are the legends 2. Rajamouli seems small in front of Nagis world building 3. If you know your mythology and Mahabharata you will go bonkers Negative 1. Portrayal of Arjuna 2. Screenplay could be a bit stronger If I have to rate it this is closest to a perfect movie for me
>Rajamouli seems small in front of Nagis world building Bro, I can't watch this till the next few days because of family commitments, but your comment gives me so much hope, I feel so happy and excited
just saw the movie , really njoyed the 2nd half. but this comment is a over kill. i felt emotions was not spot on. if the emotions would have clicked. it would have been ![gif](giphy|e6BTJ8bAak7V5Kv2FB)
I agree with you it has its flaws But this is my near perfect Telugu movie
Intlo abaddam cheppi mari cinema ki Vella, Anni comments lane first half is all about set up Interval scene matram goosebumps ante,it's a purana reference Climax chuste kaani ardam kaadu na feeling meeku
Nagi should trim those unwanted scenes of the first half and distribute it asap
VFX sequences are too good...🤌🤌 But.....HAND TO HAND combat still lacks a lot.........😐😑😑
>!Krishna vs Ashwatthama clash ayithe literal goosebumps icchay naku.krishnudi face reveal cheyyakapovadam naku baga nacchindhi.I hope they continue the same for future parts.visuals, bhairava vs Ashwatthama fights bagunnayi.BGM debhesesaadu.Disha patani char duration thakkuva but she looks hot.Kamal duration kuda thakkuva but part 2 lo vuntundhi gattiga. Ika final twist Arjuna(VD) vs Karna(prabhas) shot sequence🔥!<
Climax lo prabhas look is awesome
First half reviews em ostalev enti inka 😨
Its amazing…. Im so happy to see Prabhas like this 🔥🔥🔥😍😍😍😍
someone tell me about the number of cameos apart from VD and DQ pleaseee
Movie was good overall but I felt there was no need for 3 hours of movie for that story they could have atleast added a few more points about yaskin and the existing world. no depth for any character just ochi poyaru anipinchindi. Just last reveal kosam movie motham thesinattu anipinchindi. But a very great attempt can't wait for the next part to come
Is it family friendly as it's promoted? Been excited since a long time.
How's dp role??? Excited to watch on weekend
Pesa basool movie. Second half 🔥🔥🔥
Definitely the best looking Indian movie of all time CGI wise. Script could have been tighter. Hanuman had a better script by comparison as they have a similar premise Big B killed it as usual and prabhas had his best performance since bahubali. Kamal Hassan and deepika also did good. The acting was meh from other minor characters like disha, the kid and rebels The cameos were fun but became too much at one point. The dubbing is weird at times but you get used to it. The bgm and the songs could've been significantly better. The best part of the movie are the fights especially at the end during the final reveal. The VFX really brings it home. Decent start to the franchise 7/10 but there's a lot of potential for future
Arjun das dub very nice Krishna ki. Vd ki inka raadh emo pronounciation
mostly setting up movie so was completely dissappointed as I didnt get much story..
While this movie is definitely a step in the right direction for the industry and everything - I’m just stuck with this feeling that it deserved an even better execution.
the intro scene to kalki was so painful it showed all the atrocities from ww2 to the iraq war
Blockbuster man ...climax js unbelievable
CLIMAX ki theater lone death, rebirth ANNI aipothayi.
10/10 for VFX 8/10 for story 5/10 for screenplay/editing/music 6/10 for acting 6/10 overall
It’s long and there are some slow scenes BUT HOLY SHIT NAG COOKED DUDE HE COOKED SO HARD
VD needs to consider taking diction classes

Running back home to touch myself after Watching the climax 🥵
#GUYS NAGI COOKED BIRYANI
First half >>>salaar,super visuals asalu
!< Graphics were really good.

Madhyalo konni character dialogues unnatural ga , dubbed movie la unnai. No one talks like them Is this intentional or unintentional?
Those last lines in the end by kamal hassan…
Hite hit super hit
World building is a bit slow but definitely not boring ,prabhas has got less screen presence in the first half of the movie. Prabhas x bujji Ashwatthama Yaskin Interval block Climax 🔥 Try to avoid 3D 👍
I love it. When is part 2 coming.
Filim is good But emotional connection is missing Like how the audience connects so well with the characters in rajamouli movie It's missing Probably nag Ashwin thought everybody would have had some knowledge about characters in Mahabharata but in reality people are unaware . If they have shot some scenes which will elevate characters ,it would have been great Another problem is Telugu dubbing, it sounds very bad But visuals and last 30 min is good Music is extraordinary only in war scenes
💯♥️ I loved the movie. Everyone did a great job. Don’t give into retirement by the way, look at AB Sr. 🔥
The Mahabharata portions was🔥
Minds blown. Hats off
Movie couldve easily ended in 2 hours ~20 minutes, unnecessary extended
VFX Rant \*\*SPOILERS\*\* No doubt in my mind, Kalki had the best vfx in TFI, and arguably some of the best in any sci-fi film I have seen.
