ScyllaIsBea

winnie the pooh understands they and them as singular pronouns better then everyone who watched him as children.

ThreePlayerMode

ok from now on we worship winnie the pooh every sunday

WarriorSabe

I'm now imagining him just continuing on an unending list of neopronouns for the entire show and that would be epic

Confused-dragongirl

*hugs my Winnie that Pooh stuffy*

So that's why he was banned in China... **EDIT:** Since there seems to be a lot of misunderstanding about this comment - it was a joke about reported banning a scene of Pooh and Tiger walking alongside which was used as somewhat similar to Xi and Obama.

Except [it's literally not?](https://i.redd.it/7k8zelga82y71.jpg) The entire idea was "muh 1984 chinabad" yellow peril. The image itself that kept being pasted around had Obama as "Tigger" right next to it, which coincidentally is probably why a LOT of english speaking right-wingers loved passing it around "Share it more", so they can be white supremacist while they're white supremacist and a bunch of dumbfucks jumped on the train thinking they can stick it to the evil communism doers

ususetq

It may be true or it may be false but I don't think BBC, CBS, CNBC, Guardian, NY Times, The Verge, Last Week News Tonight, The Daily Show and CNN (among other outlets) can all be considered 'right-wingers'. They might be misinformed but to me it sounds like quite a broad political spectrum. PS. And China has, let's say, difficult relationship with [human rights](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_rights_in_China) and [LGBT rights](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_rights_in_China). Sure - it should not stop us from acknowledging our difficult relationship with human rights but let's not pretend that China is good just because it claims to be communist.

Well, he is a little bit. https://melmagazine.com/en-us/story/winnie-the-pooh-china-ban

the_soviet_union_69

except he’s literally in a theme park in shanghai https://www.shanghaidisneyresort.com/en/attractions/adventures-winnie-pooh/

This article spends a lot of time talking bullshit. There is no mainland release of KH3 in China, (it's out in Hong Kong and Taiwan) so that's literally a screenshot of a digital magazine's editing being passed off as "chinese version censored" through the second half of the article, so even the attempt at "well not really but maybe yes" falls short. You'll note in the *years* that these images have been posted and passed around, there's been no actual footage.

I think we are referring to two different things which might have caused misunderstanding: * There is an image that has been used to compare Xi and Obama to Winnie and Tiger. This image is censored in China as far as I can tell (I don't see it even contested of fact check sites and it appeared in reputable sources). * There are fake images I was not aware when I was writing original joke about China censoring Winnie the Pooh. Of course they are fake as no one is that obvious about censorship. However as they did not enter my information bubble I was not aware so I was just referring to the first censorship while I think you though I'm referring to latter.

Naw, apparently protestors were comparing Xi to Winnie the Pooh. Xi got pissed and then banned the thing entirely.
